After defeating the monsters at the royal gates, Luluane and her group run into the castle. The royal home, once a symbol of the nation, had changed into a terrible sight in just the few days it was held by the Demon King’s group.
Monster claw marks and blood were everywhere. The air was heavy and gross—a mix of monster smells and breeding scents. They run through the castle, which was now just a big monster nest.
Why did Lechary let the monsters do what they wanted? It was because the Demon King ordered it.
The Demon King wants to control this world and turn it into a place for monsters to breed. Since this country is part of that plan, he let monsters loose in the town¹ early on.
People might hear that and ask, “Doesn’t that go against their hope to be saved?”
But the Demon King is a man who says, “They were going to be invaded and die for nothing anyway. If they die being useful to Me (ore), then it has a point. So, this is salvation.”
Because he used a vague word like ‘salvation,’ the big difference in his values was easy to see.
”The road here was bad, but this is awful. Does the Demon King’s group really go this far?” Richt asked.
”They brought it on themselves, though,” another man said.
”Yeah… if we had given up, maybe we would have ended up like this too,” Richt added.
As they fight through more monsters, the men of the Resistance² think to themselves. If they had not stood up, they would have been lost to the monster swarms breeding in the capital.
The monsters in the castle are all strong types that are hard to beat. Elite fighters like Richt’s group can win, but middle-rank fighters would have a hard time. If these monsters run wild in groups, even if Luluane wins in one spot, they would lose the big war, and their lines would break.
They stop to catch their breath. They look at Luluane and the others with their Summoned Beast³ partners.
”Master, there are no monsters left nearby!” Tiana said.
”I feel people around, but they aren’t moving much. It’s weird that they stay still with all this noise. I think they were made so they can’t move,” Tiona added.
Tiana and Tiona use white wolves that are good at finding things. They use magic to track monsters and people.
Because of Tiana, monsters can’t surprise them, and they don’t miss any kills. Tiona is watching out for humans who joined the Demon King’s side.
She thought it made sense for men to help that beautiful devil inside the castle. Really, they have all become toys for the monsters, but the girls don’t know that yet.
”Good. Everyone, the altar is this way. Let’s go,” Luluane said.
They know where the altar is because a succubus told them. Luluane leads the way with the map in her head.
(I have to break the altar before Shinji-san can’t hold back that devil anymore!)
Things are going as planned, but they know if the devil Lechary gets free, everything is over. No one thinks Shinji will lose. Luluane believes in him the most.
He looks so strong while fused with spirits. Just thinking of his back while he fights the devil with the power of a succubus and a goddess makes her face hot and her chest go thump-thump.
To be honest, Luluane likes Shinji so much—with trust and respect—that she would fall for him instantly if he tried to win her over. He acts like a kind Apostle, is very strong, and has the goddess’s trust—all the things she likes.
But she is a Disciple of the goddess. She hides her jumpy feelings and just cheers for him as a fellow worker.
After more fighting, they finally reach the Altar Room that connects to the other world.
”Master! Look!” Tiana cried out.
In the most fancy, magical room sits a huge demonic wolf with three heads. It guards the place where people are eaten and souls are taken to make more monsters.
”What… magic… it might be mythic beast class…” Tiana muttered.
The wolf has six eyes and magic power like the mythic beasts goddess Badra once showed them. Tiana and Tiona are scared. Even the Resistance men are shocked. But Luluane is different.
”Don’t be afraid! No devil is more scary than that wolf!” Luluane shouted.
She uses
”I will stand in front! Tiana on the left! Tiona on the right! Liberators⁶, move as you see fit! Break the altar behind the wolf! Do your best!” Luluane commanded.
””Yes!!”” they replied.
””Got it!!”” the men shouted.

As the final battle starts, Shinji is in a new spot too. As he thought, the magic fight with Lechary got much harder after they finished talking. One mistake would mean he dies.
”Be lost in the dark!” Lechary cried.
A big magic circle appears in front of her hand, and waves of darkness shoot out. Shinji is flying, so he could dodge, but the darkness would hit the capital below. He has to stop it.
”Tch…! Freri!” Shinji yelled.
He takes magic from the
’Hey! Mother-in-law (mama)! You’re going too far!’ Shinji shouted.
’Oh? I thought Jin-kun could stop this easily,’ Lechary replied playfully.
’It’s tiring…! You don’t need to make it this flashy!’ Shinji grumbled.
’Hmm, but Mama has to go home when the altar breaks. I can only play with Jin-kun now~. It’s okay! I’m only using magic that you and Freri-chan can do too ♡’ Lechary said with a laugh.
’Gaaah! Really, wait a minute!!’ Shinji yelled.
’I want to see~♪ more of Jin-kun’s good parts~♡’ Lechary sang.
’Shinji, you’re being played with by Mama… heehee,’ Freri giggled.
’Is this a time for laughing?!’ Shinji snapped.
Shinji’s hard time being teased by Lechary and Freri would keep going until Luluane’s group broke the altar.
