Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 1798: Reaching the Ancient Alchemy Ruins...

Chapter 1798: Reaching the Ancient Alchemy Ruins...

At the same time that the elders of the Star Shattering Sect were calmed down by Elder Song after the sudden realization that they could now be considered part of the younger generation, all the way in the Eastern Central Region, Chu Yang found himself suddenly being awoken from his meditation on the Dao by the large flying ship coming to an abrupt stop. Sending him rolling into a nearby wandering cultivator, who ended up being knocked over before rolling into another wandering cultivator that was standing beside him...

"Huh?! Friend, why are you- Waaah!?"

"Why are you rolling into me!?"

Thump~

"Ouch! Never thought it would hurt so much to fall over..."

"Hurt!? You landed on top of me!"

Starting a chain reaction that ended up with all the surrounding wandering cultivators falling like dominos as they collided with each other. None of them being able to stop themselves in the process, as their cultivation realms had been completely sealed by the formation covering the flying ship.

But... Even though everyone was complaining about the unfortunate situation they found themselves in, they also began to cautiously look towards the different entrances that they had been pulled into the flying ship through a few days earlier.

Although they had no idea why the flying ship had come to a stop all of a sudden, they knew for certain that it wasn’t because another batch of wandering cultivators were about to join them, as the flying ship had never stopped to catch wandering cultivators before, but had essentially picked them up while continuing to fly.

In other words, everyone trapped inside the hull of the flying ship quickly concluded that the most likely reason for their sudden stop was that they had finally reached the ruins of the ancient alchemy sect. Meaning that the most dangerous time was now upon them, as they would soon enough find themselves being forced into the ancient ruins to test the danger of the different formations and check for traps.

If they were lucky, they might find a way to escape from the one who had captured them, but in the most likely scenario, they would find themselves being killed off by one of the formations or traps that were still active inside the ancient alchemy sect. After all, for even someone at the Celestial Immortal Realm to be fearful of the formations and traps of the ancient alchemy sect, it was clear just how dangerous the ancient alchemy sect was.

Survival chances were abysmal and the best they could hope for was some kind of teleportation trap that would send them somewhere far away from the ancient ruins or if death was inevitable, a trap or formation that would kill them without any pain or suffering.

Rumble~

As everyone thought about the grim fate that awaited them, one of the entrances on the side of the flying ship slowly began opening, like the maw of a deadly demon beast about to swallow its prey-

"Huh? Ah!? Noooo-!"

Everyone watched in horror, as an unfortunate wandering cultivator who was just next to this entrance was suddenly dragged out through the entrance screaming in a panic, while flailing his limbs wildly before disappearing into the entrance that was covered in a thick layer of mist that prevented any of them from seeing what was happening on the other side of the opening in the ship that the wandering cultivator had been dragged into.

Or... Almost everyone...

That is... The ruins of the ancient alchemy sect...?

Because he could still use some of his strength due to his dao domain, Chu Yang was able to strengthen his eyesight enough to see through the thick mist and see what was happening on the other side.

The first thing Chu Yang noticed was of course the ancient alchemy sect ruins themselves, as they were hard to miss given their grandeur and size making them take up the entirety of what he could see when looking out through the mist.

But after he turned his attention away from the grandeur of what looked to be some kind of ancient pagoda, he finally spotted the cultivator who had just been dragged out of the flying ship a few seconds earlier standing at the entrance to the pagoda with a fearful expression on his face. Next to him stood a tall person covered in a large colorful robe that made it impossible to discern the gender of the one hidden beneath.

Given how the wandering cultivator who had been dragged out was nodding fearful towards this person, it was clear that this colorful robe person should be the one who had dragged them into this flying ship in the first place or at the very least a subordinate of the person behind the flying ship and he or she was giving some kind of instructions for the wandering cultivator to follow.

No matter how much the wandering cultivator might want to refuse whatever that person was asking him to do, it was clear from a glance that the wandering cultivator had no way to refuse, as he was soon enough forced into the pagoda.

One positive he noticed about the entire situation was the fact that the wandering cultivator recovered his full strength the second he stepped inside the pagoda, though it didn’t seem to help him much, as the second he attempted to escape the same way he had gone in, he found his path blocked by an invisible wall.

Clearly, the person in the colorful robe had already accounted for the wandering cultivator trying to escape and had set up some kind of formation to prevent it from happening.

As for using teleportation talismans to escape... They were incredibly precious and it would be difficult for a Soul Ascension Realm wandering cultivator to get their hands on something like that.

However, the wandering cultivator now trapped inside the pagoda happened to be a rather lucky one, as he had somehow managed to get his hands on a teleportation talisman.

But... The second he attempted to use the teleportation talisman, a terrifying ripple spread throughout the interior of the pagoda before the wandering cultivator, who had just felt confident about his escape, was cut into millions of small pieces. Dying instantly without even knowing it.

Spatial teleportation is impossible inside that pagoda, as it seems to trigger some kind of terrifying defensive mechanism...

Feeling a shiver run down his spine as he thought this to himself while looking towards what remained of the wandering cultivator, Chu Yang quietly reminded himself to never use any kind of teleportation in case he ended up inside that pagoda. Not that he had any teleportation talismans on hand, but one never knew if he would somehow get his hands on one before ending up inside that pagoda...

"Huh!? Me!? Why meeee-"

Lost in his own thoughts for a brief moment, Chu Yang was brought back to reality, as he heard the scream of a second wandering cultivator echoing out through the interior of the flying ship, as the person in question was dragged out through the same entrance as the first one.

"That... A second one..."

"Looks like... We reached the ancient ruins and are about to be used to test out the safety of the ruins."

"Damnable monster! I swear, the owner of this flying ship is no different from demonic cultivators!"

Although they couldn’t see the fate of the first wandering cultivator, it wasn’t hard to guess what had happened to him, as everyone began panicking. Knowing what fate awaited them, but unable to do anything about it...

"I... I can’t take this! Why do I have to go through something like this just because I’m a wandering cultivator and don’t belong to any major power!? Ahh! Why was I so stubborn, I should have just joined the Explorer Union!

But over my dead body will I help the one behind this entire thing check the ancient ruins for traps!"

Bang!

In the end, one of the wandering cultivators, decided to directly kill himself to prevent the owner of the flying ship from using him to ensure his or her own safety in the ancient alchemy ruins.

Seeing this, everyone froze as they stared at the dead man, contemplating whether to join him or not.

But in the end, no one else decided to go through with it. After all, they had all lived for a long time to reach their current cultivation realm and had gone through endless struggles as wandering cultivators.

To throw all of that away and just give up? None of them were willing to do so. Instead, they were more interested in waiting to see if an opportunity to escape would present itself. After all, the owner of the flying ship wouldn’t be the only one interested in the ancient alchemy ruins... And if a battle broke out and the formations sealing them inside the flying ship broke in the process, they might get their chance to escape...
