Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 1800: The Way Out

Chapter 1800: The Way Out

Following the group of formation master after agreeing to join them in trying to break the Saint Grade Formation, Chu Yang wondered just how they were planning to even accomplish something like that with their cultivation realm currently sealed.

After all, even if they managed to find a weakness in the formation that they would be able to take advantage of, it was still a Saint Grade Formation. Even a weak point would require a lot of effort to break through. Far more than what he suspected the group of formation masters would be able to utilize.

But... From the way they had been talking so far, it was clear that they had some kind of plan when it came to breaking through the Saint Grade Formation...

"We are here!" As he was wondering to himself how the group was planning to break through the Saint Grade Formation with their current limited strength, Chu Yang suddenly heard one of the formation master’s calling out before everyone came to a stop centered around a rather inconspicuous spot in the flying ship with nothing out of the ordinary.

If anything, looking around at the planks beneath his feet and the near hull of the flying ship, it looked to be in a better state than the place he had been standing in while observing the different wandering cultivators throwing themselves into the mist that covered the open section of the flying ship’s hull.

Is this the place where they located a flaw in the flying ship’s formation? Why can’t I sense anything... Is it perhaps because of my lacking understanding regarding the Dao of Formations?

Feeling a bit lost as he looked around himself without finding anything out of the ordinary, Chu Yang could only guess that it was because his understanding of the Dao of Formations was insufficient to detect the flaw-

"This... To think there was such a flaw left in a Saint Grade Formation..."

"Impossible, how can there be this kind of flaw in a Saint Grade Formation!"

"But... It is here... I doubt the owner of the flying ship is deliberately revealing this kind of flaw in the Saing Grade Formation. After all, to do so, he would have the ability to rearrange the original layout and structure of the formation, something that would be impossible unless the owner of the flying ship is a Saint Grade Formation Master."

"I understand... If the owner of the flying ship was a formation master, there wouldn’t just be this a few formations in place, but there would be layers upon layers of formations to ensure redundancy and maximize safety."

"Indeed, the most likely scenario is that the formation should have been set up in a rush. Leaving behind a few mistakes. Difficult to detect by anyone who isn’t a formation master and hard to find, as even a skilled formation master would have to be incredibly close to even detect this kind of small hidden flaw."

The reason for this being rather simple, as the formation masters around him had all begun chatting animatedly with each other after coming to a stop. All of them gathered close to a specific part of the flying ship’s hull.

However, even when he discreetly approached and used his dao domain to try and investigate the place, he didn’t find anything, the hull looked the same as on the rest of the flying ship, but... With how the different formation masters were talking with each other, it was clear that it was just him who couldn’t sense this apparent flaw.

All he could do was stand on the side somewhat awkwardly while listening to the rest of the group discuss amongst themselves. Soon enough learning about their plan to break through the Saint Grade Formation.

In a sense, the method itself was rather simple.

Understanding that their own strength was sealed and it would be impossible to break through the formation normally, they instead decided to come up with a way to forcibly rewrite a small section of the Saint Grade Formation and cause a flaw in its operation that would in turn cause the formation to start breaking down on its own.

Impossible as this sounded, it was possible by relying on the small flaw they had found, as the flaw essentially provided them with direct access to the formation itself. Allowing them to cause chaos on the inside.

The main limitation was their own comprehension of the Dao of Formations, as the self-correction of a Saint Grade Formation was far beyond that of any formation they had encountered in the past as wandering cultivators. Essentially, the second they decided to try and make their move, the operational logic of the Saint Grade Formation would discover the flaw and start to fix it on its own.

The plan was to use the small-time frame between the flaw being discovered and the formation fixing the flaw to cause a breakdown big enough to disrupt the sealing effect on their cultivation. Allowing them to fully utilize their cultivation base to drag out the repair process of the formation long enough for them to blast through the hull of the flying ship to freedom.

But... There was one problem with this plan, as even if it worked, they wouldn’t be able to escape if the owner of the flying ship was still lingering outside, as he would just capture them the second they escaped.

At that time, even if they weren’t immediately killed off for attempting to escape, they would almost certainly get tossed inside the ancient pagoda.

Because of this, even as the different formation masters came up with a final plan of action over the next few hours and were prepared to make their move, they decided to quietly wait while observing the situation outside. Keeping their attention focused on the one they assumed to be the owner of the flying ship standing in front of the ancient pagoda.

The second that the owner of the flying ship felt like he or she was ready to try and test out the danger of the ancient pagoda on their own and decided to step inside, it would be time for them to make their move.

Before that, all they could do was silently wait for that time to come.

Of course, over the past few hours of in-depth discussions on how to break through the Saint Grade Formation, it was inevitable that the formation masters discovered that Chu Yang wasn’t a formation master himself, something that became rather obvious with his lack of assistance.

Even then, they didn’t care too much about it, as it wasn’t important now that they had a solution for breaking the Saint Grade Formation. Instead, his presence was seen as positive for what would come after they broke the Saint Grade Formation, as they would still have to escape from the ancient alchemy sect.

Dangerous as it might be to remain inside the flying ship, it did also provide them with protection from the dangers of the ancient alchemy sect and other people searching through the ruins of the ancient alchemy sect.

Once outside, they would inevitably have to face this danger. Having already decided to team up to ensure greater safety when the time came.

Having more people join them was an option, but too many people would attract attention and potentially end up spreading the word to everyone about the situation on the other side of the mist, something none of them was willing to risk. After all, everyone gathered around the mist provided them with a barrier between themselves and the one outside, who clearly just chose the one closest to the mist.

In the end, with all plans in place and now only having to wait, Chu Yang and rest all began turning their focus towards discussing plans for what to do after they escaped from the flying ship.

Originally, the plan was to try and slowly make their way out of the ancient alchemy sect ruins while avoiding any struggles or battles along the way. Not joining any fight for treasures or cultivation resources as safety would be priority.

But... Taking a chance, Chu Yang decided to tell the group of formation masters that he had a way to get out if they managed to find somewhere to hide for a few hours after getting out.

Although skeptical about this at first, they all understood that there was no reason for Chu Yang to deceive them in this kind of situation where his own life was also on the line and the fact that he had been able to see through the mist even without having comprehended the Dao of Formations gave them a certain degree of confidence in him having some kind of artifact or treasure that might be able to get them to safety.

The most obvious guess being that he had some kind of special teleportation artifact that took some time to charge up before it could be used.

Thus, in the end, the group decided to go along with Chu Yang’s suggestion to find somewhere to stay low for a few hours after an opportunity to escape from the flying ship presented itself.
