Chapter 1802: Attracting Unwanted Attention
Chapter 1802: Attracting Unwanted Attention
Having managed to make it to shore just a short distance away from the ancient pagoda that the owner of the flying ship had entered only a short time earlier, Chu Yang first looked around to ensure that everyone had made it before using the long-distance communication talisman given to him by his master to ask for help. After which, all that was left to do was find somewhere safe to hide away inside the ancient alchemy ruins before his master could show up and help him and his new group of friends get out of their current deadly situation.
Unfortunately, that was easier said than done, as there was no way they could hide somewhere close to the ancient pagoda with the owner of the flying ship around. The best option was to get far enough away from the ancient pagoda so that the owner of the flying ship wouldn’t be able to easily find them with a single sweep of their divine sense.
Finding a safe path through the ancient ruins...
Narrowing both his eyes as he thought this to himself while taking in the environment around the lake at the base of the ancient pagoda, Chu Yang could not help feeling somewhat discouraged looking at the wild foliage and towering trees that had covered what should have once been a massive space potentially used for growing spiritual herbs in the past considering it was the ruins of an ancient alchemy sect.
The reason for feeling discouraged was of course not the trees and foliage around the lake, but instead the countless demon beasts that inhabited the place.
For the owner of the flying ship, the strength of these demon beasts was negligible and could be ignored, but for Chu Yang and the group of formation masters, the strength of these demon beasts was a problem. Not just because of numbers alone, but also because the weakest among them had reached the Domain Lord Realm, while some of the stronger ones that remained hidden somewhere in the foliage had clearly surpassed the Soul Ascension Realm and reached the Dao Seed Realm.
To Chu Yang’s group, a Dao Seed Realm demon beast was far from anything they could deal with considering the strongest among them was in the Soul Ascension Realm. Meaning that they essentially had no way to move past those stronger demon beasts- or that would at least have been the case under normal circumstances, but because of the presence of the flying ship, the stronger demon beasts had clearly been intimidated into hiding themselves.
If they could avoid accidentally running into one of these hidden demon beasts, they should be able to successfully move through the demon beast infested woods surrounding the lake. The main problem became the rest of the wandering cultivators who had managed to escape closely behind them, as there was a chance they might accidentally provoke a Dao Seed Realm demon beast that would discover it was safe to hunt them down.
But then again, being wandering cultivators and having managed to reach their current realm, everyone should at least understand the danger of their current situation and what to do. So, it wasn’t too much of a worry... And even if the worst did end up happening, Chu Yang and his group at least had a head start. Allowing them to create some distance between themselves and the rest of the wandering cultivators, who still found themselves struggling to get out of the lake teeming with all kinds of unique aquatic demon beasts that attacked them on sight.
"Everyone let’s get going immediately!" And so, without wasting any time, Chu Yang decided to take the lead in leading everyone away. Knowing that they had no time to rest for now.
Even if it meant he would have to carry a few of the formation masters who had ended up exhausting all their strength earlier, he didn’t mind. His strength was sufficient and getting away from the ancient pagoda as fast as possible was far too important.
As for the reaction of the formation masters who had ended up exhausting far more strength than he had in their successful attempt to create an escape path...
"Haaa... This will be a painful journey, I really hope we end up finding somewhere to hide away fast."
"Indeed, at least we will have a chance to recover our strength if that is the case."
"Hehe, maybe we can even get a chance to know a bit more about each other instead of you two always referring to me as formation master number three..."
"Well... You are the third formation master who joined us..."
"..."
They were mostly complaining amongst each other, though none of them refused his words as they began following him. All of them understood just how important it was for them to get away from the flying ship and the ancient pagoda before the owner of the flying ship returned.
As for the potential danger of the woods surrounding them? That was not even on their mind, as there was little in the world worse than having a Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator hunting you down. Especially considering how they had partially broken the flying ship’s sealing formation to escape.
Though the formation had corrected itself and repaired the damage that had been done, it had undoubtedly drained a lot of precious resources in the process of fixing itself.
The anger that the owner of the flying ship would feel upon realizing this was something Chu Yang and the others did not plan to experience for themselves.
...
Huh? Chu Yang is contacting me asking for help?
At the same time Chu Yang and his new group of friends began making their way into the woods surrounding the lake at the base of the ancient pagoda, far away in the Western Central Region’s Verdant Abyss, Xuan Hao suddenly found himself looking through his own communication talisman with a look of surprise plastered all over his face.
Although he had expected the situation in the Eastern Central Region to be unstable and dangerous to some extent after his escape through the region had left it devastated, he had never expected it to grow to the point that his disciple had explained through the communication talisman. Much less the fact that one of the major powers had ended up being forced to cede its territory to preserve its existence.
As for the ancient alchemy sect ruins that his disciple found himself trapped inside of... Xuan Hao had a feeling that they were the ruins he would be looking for after he managed to get out of the Verdant Abyss.
The reason for this guess was rather simple... He believed there had to be some reason for such a massive ancient alchemy sect that had remained hidden for countless years in the Eastern Central Region to surface so suddenly.
The reason in question being that Huo Fen and Meng Jie entering the ancient alchemy sect ruins caused the ancient formations to slowly reactivate and cause the ancient alchemy sect to surface to the world once more.
That or it was just incredible timing for an ancient alchemy sect to surface just when he was about to go looking for one. Especially after he confirmed with Huo Fen that the ancient alchemy sect they had visited in the past was also located in the Eastern Central Region.
If there were really two ancient alchemy sects of such caliber in the Eastern Central Region, it would likely end up attracting far mor than just the cultivators from the Eastern Central Region and might even end up attracting the attention of some of the more powerful major powers in the Southern Central Region...
Rumble~!
ROOOOOAR-!
Just as he found himself contemplating the information Chu Yang had shared with him while asking for him to come and safe him, a violent tremor echoed out from the depths of the Verdant Abyss. Followed by an even more terrifying roar that caused everyone, demon beasts included, to freeze on the spot for a brief instant before resuming the chase that had by now been ongoing for a few days.
However, as one glanced between the demon beasts and the human cultivators, it was clear that the roar that had echoed from the depths of the Verdant Abyss just now had made everyone terrified...
"So... The chaos finally attracted the attention of a Star Creation Realm demon beast..."
Thinking out loud, allowing everyone around him to hear, Xuan Hao found himself voicing out what was on everyone’s mind after hearing the terrifying roar from the depths of the Verdant Abyss just now.
Although the special formation covering the Verdant Abyss made teleportation impossible, everyone understood that it wouldn’t take long for a demon beast at the Star Creation Realm to catch up with the demon beast horde chasing after the. At which point, no one would be able to escape.
The difference between the Star Creation Realm and the rest of the Profound Immortal Realm was simply far too massive...
