Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 1804: Flawed Perception

Chapter 1804: Flawed Perception

To say he was panicking would be an understatement, as he was now regretting ever attempting to investigate the ancient notes without being in a safe location. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything he could do about it, as he was truly in a life and death situation with no realistic way to escape from the Verdant Abyss with a Star Creation Realm demon beast involved and needed to find some way to catch up with those who had gone ahead of him.

If he stayed behind like the rest of the weaker cultivators, the best he could do was pray that the Star Creation Realm demon beast would ignore him and instead focus on the stronger cultivators.

Now, all he could do was aimlessly float around in the empty void that the strange glowing page from the Sky Watchers Notes had forcibly pulled him into.

At first, as he took in his surroundings, he thought it was some kind of inheritance space, but after continued investigation over the next few hours, he realized that it was just an empty space that his soul was now trapped inside of.

Any hope of returning to his body in time before it was destroyed along with Huo Fen and Meng Jie having completely disappeared after a few hours had flown by with him floating around aimlessly inside the empty void.

Even though there might be a chance that those two managed to somehow avoid the demon beast horde with their low cultivation realms, he doubted they would be able to survive the chaos that should have already begun sweeping through the entire Verdant Abyss. After all, their low strength was both a blessing and a curse.

On one side, it might have allowed them to escape from the demon beast horde unscratched, but at the same time, it would leave them defenseless against the chaos that would sweep through the Verdant Abyss... And though they were only a day travel away from the edge of the Verdant Abyss, that was calculated according to the average speed of someone in the Early Stage of the Land Creation Realm. For the two of them, it would take years, if not decades, to reach the edge of the Verdant Abyss.

But outside of those two, Xuan Hao also became worried about his second disciple who had sent him a distress signal asking for help. Although Huo Fen and Meng Jie might be lost, he didn’t plan on allow his second disciple follow in their steps and suffer a similar fate... And so, even though he couldn’t find anything even after floating around for what felt like hours and soon enough days, he continued to search for a way out of the empty void.

Rumble~

However, as his search for an exit continued for what felt like months, a loud rumbling sound in the distance soon broke the silence that had dominated the empty void so far.

Not just that, but in the direction of the loud rumbling sound, a bright light also emerged. Dispersing the darkness that had remained dominant since his soul had been forcibly pulled into the empty void.

Finally... Something different...

Not hesitating for even a second after hearing the loud rumbling sound and seeing the brilliant light that seemed to spread through the empty void like a raging sea filling an empty basin, Xuan Hao used all the strength he could muster to float himself in the direction of the light.

But... Although the light seemed to be right in front of him, it was infinitely far away, as no matter how much he moved forward, the light never seemed to get any closer to him.

Wait... Can’t move forward... I’m... Stuck...?

Suddenly, realizing something he hadn’t been able to realize before the emergence of the light, Xuan Hao began to observe his own situation. Only to realize that he was indeed stuck in place and had likely been so since he had first entered the empty void. The memories of him wandering around the empty void in the past were after close investigation, likely just him feeling the currents of spatial energy moving around him.

But... Even if that is the case, I should have sensed something after spending such a long time in this place, I should- Wait... Time... How long have I been inside this place...?

Freezing on the spot as he realized that he didn’t have any concrete idea over how long he had been trapped inside the empty void, Xuan Hao began to try and feel for the omnipresent sea of time that trapped everything inside it, but found himself unable to even sense the surface like he had been able to in the past after his comprehension of the Dao of Time reached the Elementary Realm, something that should be impossible.

Unless... I’m trapped somewhere outside the sea of time or have been submerged so deeply in it that I’m not able to even sense the surface...

Feeling a shiver run down his spine as he came to this conclusion, Xuan Hao soon shook his head and threw these two terrifying thoughts to the back of his mind for now.

Although he felt that those two options were viable, it could also be something else. After all, his current comprehension of the Dao of Time had barely reached the Elementary Realm and there was much he didn’t understand.

For what he knew, there might be a method to seal someone’s senses. Preventing them from sensing the sea of time. In fact, he felt that it was far more likely that he had been subjected to something like that.

Now... The question was, why seal off his ability to sense the endless sea of time? And how long had he been trapped inside the empty void? What about the light in the distance? Was it perhaps a key to him leaving this strange empty void that was now slowly being turned into a sea of light?

To be honest, he had no way to answer any of these questions on his own and couldn’t really do anything other than wait for the light to reach him and hope it would be able to get him out of the empty void.

But... How long would it take for the light to reach him? Even if his perception of time wasn’t accurate, he still felt like he had been in the empty void for years...
