Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 1820: Meeting a Fellow Wandering Cultivator

Chapter 1820: Meeting a Fellow Wandering Cultivator

As Chu Yang and the rest stood frozen in fear, unable to move a single muscle under the terrifying divine sense that had locked on to them, an old man suddenly materialized in front of them seemingly out of thin air. His expression, one of surprise and curiosity, as he looked over them without even glancing back at the battles playing out behind him.

"Oh? A group of wandering cultivators managed to get in? How curious, can you tell me how you managed to get past the barrier at the entrance?" Showing no signs of hostility, the old man asked in an interested tone, his gaze focused on Chu Yang, who had been placed in the lead of the group.

"B-barrier...?"

But, even though Chu Yang would be more than happy to answer the question of the old man to avoid drawing his hostility, he didn’t have any idea what the old man was talking about and could only respond in a somewhat nervous questioning manner. Hoping that the old man would understand that he had no idea what barrier he was talking about.

"The barrier blocking the entrance to- Ah... I see... How did you get in here?"

"W-we were captured by someone to test out a formation and managed to escape..."

"Captured? Ah, I understand, good riddance, I was just about to think something had happened to that barrier and anyone could enter with ease after I struggled to get through that damnable thing earlier.

Ah, don’t worry, I’m not part of any of those major powers you see struggling behind me, I’m a wandering cultivator, just like you. Happened to be on my way back to the Southern Central Region when I saw a new ancient ruin suddenly emerging... And, well, can’t give up a good opportunity like this.

Outside of that, those few major powers aren’t really that difficult to deal with as..."

Listening to the talkative old man who continued speaking without any signs of stopping, Chu Yang and the rest aimlessly nodded their heads in response.

In the process, they did manage to learn a lot of information they hadn’t been privy to before.

One of those things being that the different paths leading inside the ancient alchemy sect ruins had already been sealed off and controlled by the different major powers, as although the ancient alchemy sect was in the process of merging with the Ewaria Continent, the process wasn’t entirely complete, and it would take time to fully integrate. For now, there were only a limited number of paths to access the ancient alchemy sect ruins from the outside. Unless one possessed a profound comprehension of the Dao of Space and had the ability to bypass the spatial barriers that existed around the secret realm in the process of merging into the Ewaria Continent.

The spatial barriers weren’t ones that had been constructed by the creators of the secret realm but was something special called world barriers that had formed naturally around the secret realm when it began merging into the Ewaria Continent.

To pierce this kind of barrier, what the old man described as a terrifyingly high comprehension of the Dao of space would be required.

Other than this, Chu Yang and the rest also learnt about the struggle taking place between the different major powers not too far away was because of some ancient Saint Grade Elixir, while also learning that the old man they had been listening to so far was a rare Celestial Immortal Realm wandering cultivator.

According to the old man, though wandering cultivators of his level were rare, they were far more common in the Southern Central Region where even Profound Immortal Realm wandering cultivators could be found.

Doubtful as this was to Chu Yang and the rest, the old man insisted upon seeing their doubtful expression. Explaining that it was due to the presence of a large number of abandoned secret realms, ruins and other locations that contained cultivation techniques and other precious things to assist someone in reaching the Celestial Immortal Realm or even the Profound Immortal Realm without the assistance of a major power.

In fact, the old man claimed his ascension to the Celestial Immortal Realm was due to him stumbling on the remnants of a fallen Celestial Lord.

As for what a Celestial Lord was? Chu Yang and the rest had felt curious and decided to try and ask without expecting much. Only for the old man to jump into a long-detailed explanation that none of them could understand.

The only bits of information they could understand being that a Celestial Lord was the name of the cultivation realm that came after the Celestial Immortal Realm...

"Hm... Was there anything I forgot to mention...?" As the old man’s long explanation of the Celestial Immortal Realm finally came to an end, Chu Yang and the rest could not help feeling a hint of panic upon hearing that they might have to sit through another lecture that they understood nothing of.

"No! Senior, I don’t think you missed anything!"

"Yes! Senior, has enlightened us all and I don’t think you missed anything!"

"Yes, yes, they are correct!"

"Senior, there is no need for you to waste your precious words on someone like us!"

Jumping forward without any fear, they all began reassuring the old man that he hadn’t missed anything during his explanation and there was no need for him to continue any further.

"Hm? Okay then, guess I managed to get it correct the first time this time around! Hehe, looks like I’m getting better at this teaching thing."

"""..."""

Doing their best to not say anything after hearing the smug words coming out of the old man’s mouth, Chu Yang and the rest did their best to remember that the person standing in front of them was a terrifying cultivator at the Celestial Immortal Realm, though, the punchable look on his old face made it increasingly difficult.

"Ah! Speaking of which, I should get going as well or I will end up missing out on that Saint Grade Elixir."

Suddenly realizing something as he stood there smiling with a smug expression on his face, the old man turned around and looked in the direction where the fighting was taking place. Having grown even more violent and chaotic over the past few minutes, the presence of several Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators had sprung up and could now clearly be felt coming from the center of the battle.

"Isn’t... Isn’t that a place filled with powerful cultivators from the different major powers? Senior... Are you sure it’s a good idea to jump into that battle? Won’t they just team up to deal with you?" Feeling a bit worried about this talkative yet kind senior, Chu Yang could not help voicing out his thoughts. Not wanting to see this senior end up dead at the hands of the powerful cultivators of the different major powers.

"Oh? Hehe, don’t worry, I will just go in, snatch the elixir and be on my way, I’m planning to join their little skirmish."

"Huh...? Can you... Do that?"

"Of course, look at how busy all of them are fighting each other, the location of that elixir is left completely defenseless."

"But... Won’t they hunt you down afterwards?"

"Not if I’m fast enough! And even if they want to hunt me down later, they will have to come to the Southern Central Region. Hehe, with their strength, they might die if they recklessly attempt to search through the Southern Central Region for someone. After all, that place is filled with all kinds of dangers."

"..."

Hearing the confidence of the old man, Chu Yan decided not to say anything more. Understanding that the old man had already thought things through and was confident in escaping after getting his hands on the Saint Grade Elixir.

"Hehe, I will be going, but as a kind reminder to a group of fellow wandering cultivators, the best chance for you to escape this place is find somewhere safe to hide away until this place fully merges with the continent. After that, it will be far easier for you to leave this place. Well then, bye bye~"

Whoosh-!

Not even giving them a chance to say anything in response, the old man shot into the sky before rushing straight towards the chaotic battle in the distance-

BOOOM-!

"WHO!? HOW DARE YOU!"

"CATCH HIM! DON’T LET HIM ESCAPE!"

"DAMNABLE RAT! GET BACK HERE!"

Not a second later, a loud explosive sound echoed out from the distance before several loud voices all yelled out in anger before chasing after what Chu Yang and the rest presumed to be the old man who had managed to successfully get his hands on the Saint Grade Elixir that the people from the different major powers had been fighting over.

Rumble~

And, like the old man had told them, it was clear that the ones chasing after him had no way to catch up from the angry roars that kept echoing out through the mountainous terrain...
