Chapter 1821: Back in the Eastern Central Region
Chapter 1821: Back in the Eastern Central Region
Standing frozen in the same location without knowing what to do upon seeing the chaos that had been caused by the old man as he had left to seize the Saint Grade Elixir that the forces from the different major powers were fighting for, Chu Yang and the rest could only awkwardly stare at each other before deciding to take advantage of the chaotic situation to sneak away from their current exposed location on top a small mountain ledge.
Finding a remote cliffside nearby to dig a small hidden cave that they sealed off after everyone was inside. Ensuring that they would be even more difficult to detect by setting up a complex concealment formation that even someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm would find difficult to spot without paying special attention to the cliffside they were hiding inside of.
Although they could continue moving deeper into the treacherous mountainous terrain for a better hiding spot, they also understood that doing that would expose them to far more risk. Potentially even resulting in them being noticed by the now furious cultivators belonging to different major powers from the Eastern Central Region.
In the end, creating a hiding spot from scratch in the remote and undisturbed part of the mountainous region that they found themselves in seemed like a far better choice. Especially since they could rely on the formation experience of everyone except Chu Yang to create a complex concealment formation that would be hard to notice even for someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm.
That was not to say Chu Yang was entirely useless, as his comprehension of the Dao of Earth was used for digging the cave they now resided inside of and to make the environment outside the cave seem more natural and less obviously artificial.
Together with the concealment formation, the overall quality of the temporary hiding spot had reached a level that only someone in the Celestial Immortal Realm stood a chance at finding.
Now... All they had to do was hope no Celestial Immortal Realm cultivator turned their attention in their direction before Chu Yang’s master appeared to help them get out of their current deadly situation.
Luckily for them, the chaos caused by the old man had ended up drawing the attention of all the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators away for the moment, otherwise, it was doubtful they would ever have been able to even set up this hiding spot in the first place. The first few fluctuations created by the concealment formation when it had been rapidly put together and put in place would have been noticed.
In fact, someone did notice the fluctuations from the concealment formation when it was erected, but they were too slow and by the time they wanted to investigate the situation, the fluctuations had already disappeared together with the concealment formation’s successful establishment.
The main problem or danger for the group at this moment was this specific cultivator reporting the situation to his superior and getting someone stronger to investigate the situation.
If things ended up drawing enough attention, it would ultimately lead to one of the Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators personally investigating the situation... They could only hope for Chu Yang’s master to appear before that happened.
...
So... The ancient alchemy sect ruins that Chu Yang is trapped in is really the same as the one Huo Fen and Meng Jie had originally explored in the past. Although, it does seem rather strange. Allowing communication through communication talisman, but the connection with the soul imprint has been cut completely. Not just the ancient sect ruins, but the Verdant Abyss should have the same kind of soul interference...
On his way to the ancient alchemy sect ruins in the Eastern Central Region to save his disciple, Xuan Hao had used the time while travelling through the void to question Huo Fen and Meng Jie about the ancient alchemy sect they had explored in the past. Confirming that it was the same one that his disciple had ended up inside.
At the same time, he had also confirmed that while he could communicate with his disciple using high-quality communication talismans, the link between himself and the soul imprint he had left behind in the depths of Chu Yang’s soul for protection had been severely weakened.
The only use of the soul imprint was essentially to act as tracking talisman that he could lock on to from a distance.
Hm? That is...?
Having already crossed the border between the Eastern Central Region and the Western Central Region a short time earlier, Xuan Hao had already been feeling that he was getting close to reaching the entrance to the ancient alchemy sect ruins that had been mentioned by Huo Fen, when he suddenly found himself coming to an abrupt stop.
The reason for this being rather simple, as a seemingly impenetrable wall had suddenly appeared in front of him in the seemingly empty void.
Though the wall reminded him of the one he had seen sealing off the Verdant Abyss, it was clear immediately that this wall was different. Not just that, but also far more powerful. Evoking a feeling of being impenetrable even with his comprehension of the Dao of Space-
Booom-!
Of course, a simple feeling was far from enough to stop him, as he wasted no time attempting to force his way through the seemingly impenetrable barrier that blocked his path...
"This... How can it be so strong!?"
However, after trying to use all his strength to forcibly force his way through, he found himself unable to even penetrate the surface level of this unknown barrier.
This was by far the strongest anything he had encountered so far, as he had a feeling it would still be impossible to force his way through the barrier with Origin level comprehension of the Dao of Space.
He could only give up trying to force his way through the barrier like he had originally wanted to do.
Whoosh~
Instead, slowly leaving the empty void with Huo Fen and Meng Jie in tow. Materializing in an empty plain in a remote part of the Fleeting Cloud Empire. The only sign of life anywhere within a hundred kilometers being a small village that had no one above the Core Formation Realm present inside it.
Having made sure that there was no threat around, Xuan Hao soon turned to look towards Huo Fen with a serious expression on his face. "This should be close to the place you mentioned. Can you find the entrance the two of you used in the past?"
"Yes, the entrance we used in the past is inside the small village church. Accessible through a hidden compartment inside the statue inside the praying chamber. Just go down the ladder inside the statue and enter the sacrificial chamber hidden below and the entrance to the ancient alchemy sect ruins can be seen with ease."
"Sacrificial chamber...?"
"Huh? Ah, I forgot to mention, the church is a branch of a hidden demonic cult that often engages in human sacrifices. During our last visit, we wiped out the hidden demonic cult branch and ended up finding the entrance of the ancient alchemy sect ruins there by accident.
"I see..."
Nodding his head feeling a bit surprised at the location of the entrance and history behind it, Xuan Hao could not help wondering to himself if this demonic cult had anything to do with the entrance to the alchemy sect ruins being opened in the first place.
However, from what Huo Fen said, it was clear that this demonic cult was far from powerful. If it had been, he should have been a been more fearful when talking about this demonic cult...
Shaking his head at these trivial thoughts, Xuan Hao decided to not linger around any longer knowing that any time wasted could potentially cost the life of his second disciple. Even if there was some demonic cult behind the entire thing, he could at least be certain that those powerful cultivators were nowhere near the small village for now.
Swish-!
And so, just as Huo Fen and Meng Jie had landed back on the ground and were able to move around on their own for the first time in days, they were once again picked up by Xuan Hao, who dragged the two along with him in the direction of the small village. Soon enough, confirming the accuracy of Huo Fen’s earlier words before rushing through the entrance below the church.
The reason for not leaving behind the master disciple pair was rather simple, as he intended to help them accomplish what he had originally promised to help the two of them with after he rescued his disciple from danger.
As for encountering a deadly situation inside the ancient alchemy sect ruins? He didn’t worry too much about this. Feeling confident that he would be able to deal with the situation with his current strength, as it was clear the ancient ruins had not yet drawn the attention of the truly powerful cultivators of the Eastern Central Region and only involved those in the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm for now.
