And although it was also at the Early Stage of the Land Creation Realm, there was no way for it to fight equally against four experienced Land Creation Realm cultivators working together. Soon enough, resulting in the shadowy demon beast being knocked into the ground before being directly pinned down, unable to free itself under the oppressive power of the four Land Creation Realm cultivators.

Having held its own against a large number of enemies, only to end up being one-sidedly beaten up, the shadowy demon beast was overcome with anger with no real way to vent it as the four Land Creation Realm cultivators left no path for it to resist... And along with its inexperience when it came to fighting someone in the Land Creation Realm and not really having fully understood its own strength, the angry roars of the shadowy demon beast soon turned into panicked whimpers.

Although not experienced, it still realized that it was loosing and was about to be killed by the four opponents who had seemingly appeared out of thin air to pin it to the ground before using their combined power to cut through its shadowy form to inflict real damage to its body, something that those weaker cultivators below the Land Creation Realm had been unable to do and also the main reason why it hadn’t been fearful when it had first been pinned to the ground.

It was fully confident that those four wouldn’t be able to do any real damage to it like those who had attacked it before, something that had now been proven to be wrong, as black colored blood began covering the ground below it.

Of course, along with this realization, the shadowy demon beast wasted no time in trying to free itself-

Unfortunately, it quickly found out that no matter how much it struggled, it couldn’t free itself from those four. Only able to helplessly roar out in anger at its current situation. Wanting nothing more than to tear those four apart but being far too weak to do so.

The best it could do was continue struggling to make it more difficult for those four to hit its real body. Ensuring that it could keep itself alive for longer.

As for a plan to get out of the current situation? The shadowy demon beast didn’t have any idea how to accomplish something like that with those four powerful humans working together trying to kill it, it was simply far too weak and had no way to face off against four experienced Land Creation Realm cultivators.

In fact, the only reason why it had even been able to survive their combined attacks so far was because of its unique nature and close relationship to the Dao of Shadows. Allowing it to dodge and avoid most of the attacks being thrown towards it, while at the same time also making it difficult for those four to locate its true body within the relatively large shadowy form it had taken.

If it had been a normal human cultivator at the Land Creation Realm they would have already have been dead in the face of this kind of ambush and while a demon beast would have been able to endure the initial attack relying on its powerful physique, it would still have been in a much worse state than the shadowy demon beast and have a relatively limited time left in face of the continued attacks from the four Land Creation Realm cultivators.

"Damnit, I didn’t expect this demon beast to be this troublesome to deal with."

"Yeah... Given its inexperience, I expected it to be relatively simple to deal with. Never expected it to be harder to kill than a normal Land Creation Realm demon beast with the four of us working together."

"Haaah... The Dao of Shadows, as annoying as ever to deal with... Do any of you have an artifact to deal with this? Save the rest of us a bit of time?"

"Hah? Even if I had one, I wouldn’t waste it on something like this!"

"Yeah, wasting such a precious artifact on a little demon beast like this is simply asking us to throw away our hard-earned trump cards! If you are so eager to finish this battle faster, why don’t you produce an artifact to counter this demon beast?"

"Hmph! I thought so!"

As a result of this, the four Land Creation Realm cultivators all began complaining and bickering with each other over the current state of things, but in the end, none of them took out anything to counter the abilities of the shadowy demon beast.

Although it was troublesome to deal with and would take some time to fully kill, it wasn’t anywhere near worth it for them to pull out their hard-earned trump cards that they saved for saving themselves to kill what they perceived to be an already dead demon beast a bit faster.

On the other hand, the four were silently eager for the battle to drag on for a bit longer, as it gave them an opportunity to assess each other’s abilities and see if anyone had become stronger or weaker. Potentially even seeing if there was a chance for them to make a move to eliminate one of their long-standing rivals.

In a way, the joining forces to take on the shadowy demon beast wasn’t that much about helping each other in taking down a demon beast that could potentially cause trouble throughout the Eastern Central Region and cause damage to their territory, but was more so an opportunity to test each other and see if anyone had suffered some injures during the brief clash with the spiritual tree in the past.

After all, even though it hadn’t directly moved to kill them, it had still briefly clashed with them... And as a spiritual tree that could already be considered half a step into the Star Creation Realm, it wouldn’t be weird for that single clash to have left some internal injuries.

Unaware of any of this, the shadowy demon beast could only continue struggling helplessly beneath the four Land Creation Realm cultivators as it did its best to avoid being hit whenever the four of them attacked.

In the process of this drawn-out struggle, the shadowy demon beast did end up becoming more familiar with its own abilities, though it was more so forced to do so out of a survival need than anything else, as it became more adapt at avoiding the attacks by making use of the Dao of Shadows.

However, outside of that, as it continued struggling beneath the oppressive attacks of the four Land Creation Realm cultivators, the shadowy demon beast also realized that its opponents weren’t really paying that much attention to it when they attacked and were more so carelessly throwing down an attack every now and then while most of their focus remained on each other.

Angered as the shadowy demon beast was after realizing that it was nothing more than an afterthought to these four, the shadowy demon beast also realized that this might be an opportunity for it to escape, as it could potentially use this lack of attention to fool these four Land Creation Realm cultivators and escape.

It didn’t need them to fully give up their suppression but just loosen it enough for it to force itself free. After which, it felt confident in being able to escape. Not because it was faster than the four Land Creation Realm cultivators, but instead because it was familiar with the ancient alchemy sect ruins from before it had ended up being locked away inside the treasury and felt confident in being able to make use of this knowledge to escape.

And so, the shadowy demon beast decided to put on an act for these four to witness, doing the only thing it could to make them lower their guard and weaken their suppression. Making itself appear weaker and like it was about to die.

Of course, to do this, it also forced itself to endure a few more superficial attacks from the four. Allowing far more blood to spray out and cover the ground below. Giving the illusion that it was far more injured than it was.

In a way, this kind of trick would have been easily seen through under normal circumstances, but the four Land Creation Realm cultivators above weren’t paying much attention to the shadowy demon beast below and were far more focused on each other. Only really using their divine sense to observe the general state of the shadowy demon beast... And from that, they clearly felt its presence becoming weaker and along with the increased amount of blood and the feeling of cutting into it, they didn’t find anything wrong with the current situation.
