Chapter 1862 Troublesome Disciple (3)
Chapter 1862 Troublesome Disciple (3)
Feeling the pressure of her master's gaze, Mui understood that there was no way for her to avoid the question and soon enough began talking about just what it was she wanted from him.
To put it into a few short words, she wanted him to expand the size of the Qi Spring Lake, something that was not just difficult to accomplish with the terrifying durability of the different mountains that made up the Shattered Star Peaks but would also directly end up causing no small number of elders to end up homeless. After all, for the Qi Spring Lake to expand, it would inevitably end up swallowing up the different homes that had been built n4ext to it by the sect's most important elders who wanted to take advantage of the far denser spiritual qi near the Qi Spring Lake. Himself being among these elders who would end up being affected in case the Qi Spring Lake ended up expanding in size.
In a way, his disciple was correct that she couldn't do something like this herself. Only he, as the person who could be considered the one with the most power in the entire sect, would have the ability to expand the already established boundaries of the Qi Spring Lake without facing any negative effects outside of a few complaining elders who would be forced to relocate their homes.
But… Given that this was something that had seemingly come out of nowhere for a problem that could be easily solved with a few words, Xuan Hao didn't find himself eager to shrink the already limited space on top of the Seventh Star Peak by expanding the size of the Qi Spring Lake.
Not to mention, he still felt that this little disciple of his wasn't being entirely truthful in her reasoning for wanting to expand the size of the Qi Spring Lake. Instead, it felt more like she was using Baobao to justify expanding the Qi Spring Lake to him. Making him even more curious about what she was up to and how expanding the Qi Spring Lake would help her accomplish whatever it was she was planning to do.
"Master…" Seemingly knowing that her planned out excuse wasn't working, Mui instead decided to go with a more conventional attack as she looked up towards her master with an innocent pleading look in her eyes.
If not for the fact that he knew that this innocent pleading look from his little disciple was essentially asking him to wreck the homes of several of the sect's elders, he might have been fooled by her and thought she was asking for something simple and harmless.
"Mui… Why don't you tell me why you want me to expand the size of the Qi Spring Lake? And don't use Baobao as an excuse this time around."
"Hehe… Master… Truth be told, I have been practicing formations a bit since you left to check up on senior brother Chu Yang… And… I think I might have managed to come up with a new formation I wanted to try out…"
"A new formation? How does this involve the Qi Spring Lake…?" Frowning slightly as he heard the somewhat nervous chuckle from Mui as she finally decided to become a bit more truthful with her goals, Xuan Hao decided to try and dig deeper to figure out what it was she needed to use the Qi Spring Lake for that required him to expand it.
"This… The new formation I came up with might require a qi spring to work and I thought I could borrow one of the qi springs inside the Qi Spring Lake. The problem is, doing so might take up quite a lot of space and the current Qi Spring Lake is a bit too small for me to attempt setting up the formation…"
"You want to use one of the qi springs to create a new formation? You want to use the qi spring as a constant and endless supply of qi to keep the formation running all the time?!"
"Yes! I knew you would get it master!"
Hearing Mui's excited voice as he began to put two and two together on what this little troublemaker wanted; Xuan Hao felt his face darkening.
Using a qi spring to supply a formation with a continuous, never-ending flow of spiritual qi was something he had thought about doing and experimenting with in the future if he happened to get his hands on a few more qi springs in the future through system quests, but… He also understood that involving something like a qi spring into a formation was an incredibly complicated thing that even he would struggle with at the Peak of the Large Success Realm in the Dao of Formations.
In his estimation, only someone in the Saint Realm would have the ability to successfully integrate a low-grade qi spring into a formation without messing something up along the way, as for higher grade qi springs… That was far too complicated, as creating a smooth passage for the formation to absorb and distribute the continuous and unending flow of spiritual qi was far more difficult than just absorbing spiritual qi from heaven and earth.
Now… Mui wanted to do something that even someone in the Saint Realm would find difficult… To say he was worried would be an understatement, as he wasn't just worried about his disciple in this kind of situation, but was more worried about her accidentally destroying the qi spring lake in the process of attempting to build whatever formation she had planned to create around it.
After all, even though a qi spring was relatively tough and difficult to destroy after being placed down with the help of the system, he had no doubt that this little disciple of his would find some way to accidentally destroy it if she managed to somehow get her hands on it.
For this reason alone, Xuan Hao didn't want this little troublemaker anywhere near the qi springs that had been hidden by him at the core of the Qi Spring Lake. After all, those qi springs weren't something that could just be replaced and when gone, it would affect the spiritual qi inside the Shattered Star Peaks.
Maybe not by much if it was only a single low grade qi spring that ended up being destroyed, but if Mui somehow managed to destroy more or potentially damaged the mid-grade qi spring, it would decrease the qi inside the Star shattering Sect noticeably and make the water of the Qi Spring Lake less useful as a tonic that could be used to reward the younger disciples of the sect. Meaning that Elder Song would have to find another way to reward the talented younger generation of the sect, something that would undoubtedly result in the old man showing up to complain…
"Master…?"
"Hm? Ah, it's nothing, I was just thinking about your request-"
"And…?" Being interrupted before he even had the chance to answer properly, Xuan Hao could not help narrowing his eyes for a bit, causing the little one to freeze up on the spot as she seemed to have realized her mistake.
"As I was about to say…" Deciding against scolding this naughty little disciple for interrupting him mid-sentence, Xuan Hao continued from where he left off. "After further deliberation, I have decided to help you... Under the pretext that you first have to get Elder Song's approval."
Not outright denying her request, as he understood that she would end up finding some way to accomplish her goal no matter what he said, thus, he decided to instead just throw this problem over towards Elder Song.
Not just because the old man was the one in charge of managing the sect and the different elders, but also because he understood that this old man was truly the only person inside the sect that Mui truly feared, as he did hold the power to punish this little troublemaker. Especially so given that her best friend was none other than Elder Song's granddaughter, Song Jia. Meaning that Elder Song would be able to easily track her down by simply looking for his granddaughter.
But maybe most important of all, her master didn't do anything to stop Elder Song from punishing her whenever she ended up causing trouble. Making it clear to Mui that the true boss of this sect wasn't her master, but her best friend's grandfather…
Whoosh~
Watching the little troublemaker's face darken noticeably upon hearing Elder Song being brought up, Xuan Hao chuckled quietly to himself as he used his domain to send the trio out of his cultivation room so they could go over whatever their next plan would be now that they had to get the approval of Elder Song, a task far more difficult.
But none of this mattered to him anymore, as the troublesome situation had essentially been thrown to Elder Song, as he himself could now refocus his attention back on expanding his spiritual sea.
