Chapter 1998 Lu Dongli (2)
Chapter 1998 Lu Dongli (2)
Having returned to the safety of the carriage without the silver bracelet being discovered and Yaoyao busy helping move the carriage that had blocked the bridge, Lu Dongli found herself curiously examining the silver bracelet in question. Finding that outside of a few noticeable engravings, the bracelet itself was of a rather simple design not much different from other bracelets she had seen in the past. If there was anything special to speak of, it would be the small gemstone attached.
Not so much because of the gemstone itself, as she had seen bracelets with gemstones in them, but more so because the gemstone itself wasn't one she recognized… And with her identity as a young noble lady who had seen countless different gemstones growing up, that was indeed something unexpected.
As for the gemstone being some kind of spirit stone… She was sure that wasn't the case, as she had not seen spirit stones before thanks to her father and big brother, who had given her one to try and absorb to help her potentially breakthrough to the First Stage of the Qi Condensation Realm.
Failed as she might have when it came to using said spirit stone to reach the Qi Condensation Realm and official step onto the path of cultivation, it had at least made her knowledgeable about what a spirit stone looked like. Ensuring she would recognize one if she ended up encountering one.
"Maybe I should find an opportunity to show it to father when I reach the capital. After all, he is far more knowledgeable about these kinds of things…" Quietly muttering this to herself as she continued fiddling around with the still somewhat wet silver bracelet, Lu Dongli decided that it might be best for her to try and get her father's opinion on the strange gemstone.
At the very least compared to her, her father was also knowledgeable about all kinds of spiritual stones used by skilled blacksmiths capable of crafting cultivator artifacts.
If this gemstone was indeed such a valuable spiritual gemstone used in artifact crafting, it made sense why she didn't recognize it, while at the same time would almost certainly get her praise from her father for finding something that precious. Even if she had partly gone against his advice in not picking up anything strange.
Hm? But if the gemstone is really a spiritual gemstone used in artifact crafting, doesn't that mean the silver bracelet is some kind of artifact!?
Suddenly realizing what should have been obvious from the start, Lu Dongli suddenly found her attention shifting towards the gemstone at the core of the silver bracelet with a concentrated look in her eyes, seemingly trying to activate this mysterious artifact with her mind-
Click-!
And as if responding to her concentration, the gemstone at the core of the silver bracelet let out a small mechanical clicking sound before seemingly splitting in half to reveal a small glowing orb the size of an ordinary pearl inside the unknown gemstone that turned out to not be a gemstone in the first place.
"Huh? Wa-wa-wa-what is that!?" Panicking in response to the sudden turn of events, Lu Dongli found herself backing away from the silver bracelet that ended up falling onto the soft padding as a result, causing the small glowing orb to roll out before coming to a stop a short distance away from her.
"…"
Locked in a momentary staring contest with the small glowing orb because of this, Lu Dongli soon enough concluded that nothing dangerous was going to happen… And along with this realization, her curiosity once again reignited. Shifting from the silver bracelet towards the small glowing orb.
However, compared to the silver bracelet that she had dared to pick up without the slightest bit of hesitation, she was far more cautious when it came to the small glowing orb. Circling around it for a good few minutes trying to see if she could learn anything about it before her impatience finally got the better of her and she reached out to touch the small glowing orb-
Fwwooosh-!
And almost the second she touched it; she felt her mind being infected by a vast quantity of unknown information as the glowing orb disappeared. Only after half an hour of being locked in the same position, did she somewhat recover from the stunned state, but the sheer quantity of information that had surged forth into her mind was simply far too vast for her young mind to withstand and fully digest in such a short time.
Thump~
So, without anyone around, she gently collapsed onto the soft padding. Falling asleep as her soul was working overtime to sort through the vast quantity of information and had to force her body asleep to cope with the information before it overwhelmed her soul completely.
…
Waking up after what felt like days, Lu Dongli looked out of the nearby carriage window and saw that the sun had already retreated beneath the horizon as the moon could barely be seen peeking out behind the clouds above.
Yaoyao, her maid servant, was nowhere to be seen, though this wasn't too surprising, as the sound from the front of the carriage made it rather easy to guess where she was.
But none of this held her attention for more than a few seconds, as her attention focused on the new information that had suddenly appeared inside her head out of nowhere, though not entirely so, as she was at least smart enough to realize that this new information should have something to do with the glowing orb she had touched.
Back to the information that had appeared in her head, she couldn't really make out much from what little she could understand of the vast quantity of information that now seemed to have appeared in her mind out of nowhere, but what she could tell was that it was some kind of cultivation mantra.
However, it was clear from a glance that the complexity and quality of this cultivation mantra was far above the one she had read through in the past when she still had some hope of reaching the Qi Condensation Realm and officially step onto the path of cultivation.
Originally, with this realization, she wanted nothing more than to show this cultivation mantra to her father, but after going through what little she could understand of it, it became clear that there were strict requirements for cultivating this cultivation mantra and not just anyone could cultivate it. The main requirement that caught her attention being some kind of special ice divine physique or similar ice related physiques that would slowly be able to change one's body into that of the ice divine physique.
Although she herself had no confidence that she had any kind of divine physique considering her lackluster talent when it came to cultivation, the fact that there wasn't any detriments to trying the cultivation mantra out and she still had a little over a day if not two days until she reached the capital city, she decided that she might as well try out this unique cultivation mantra.
Whoosh~
Surprisingly, the second she began following the steps of the cultivation mantra, she began feeling the spiritual qi around her slowly being drawn into her body, causing her to almost jump in surprise as she halted her cultivation attempt.
Not because anything had gone wrong, but because she had never felt spiritual qi before, let alone had it enter her body.
This step was a clear sign of someone about to enter the Qi Condensation Realm and a step she had failed countless times in the past and blocked her path to ever becoming a cultivator.
Yet…
Now with a completely unknown cultivation mantra, she had seemingly managed to take this step that she had given up on ever completing after months of struggle in the past.
"Do I perhaps have some kind of ice related physique that makes normal cultivation mantra's unsuitable for me? Is that why I was never able to cultivate in the past…?" Quietly muttering her thoughts out to no one specific, Lu Dongli felt a growing sense of excitement inside after this initial success-
Whoosh~
And after calming herself, she once again began operating the unique ice cultivation mantra. Feeling as the spiritual qi around her gathered inside her dantian before forming a small qi cyclone after a little over twenty minutes had passed. Officially signaling her breakthrough to the First Stage of the Qi Condensation Realm.
"Huh?"
But what followed that breakthrough was not the sudden feeling of improving her strength like her big brother had described when he had taken the step and broken through to the First Stage of the Qi Condensation Realm in the past. Instead, what she felt was a growing cold slowly condensing throughout her dantian following her meridians throughout her body.
Not painful, but certainly not comfortable, as it felt like the temperature had suddenly decreased out of nowhere and she had no way to turn it back up, as the cold spread throughout her body through her meridians showed no signs of retreating or disappearing.
