Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 1999 Lu Dongli (3)

Chapter 1999  Lu Dongli (3)

Taken aback by the strange feeling of coldness that had suddenly enveloped her after breaking through to the First Stage of the Qi Condensation Realm, Lu Dongli could not help feeling somewhat confused. Wondering if this was some special effect that had happened because of the cultivation technique she had just practiced. After all, she had heard from her big brother that some special cultivation techniques brought along special effects or benefits when one cultivated them.

Although she had no idea what kind of benefit feeling a bit colder would be, she also had a feeling that her cultivation might be too low to truly understand the benefits brought by this cultivation technique.

As for giving up on cultivating? She never once thought about it even if the cold feeling that had spread through her body was somewhat uncomfortable. On the contrary, it made her strive to improve her strength even more, as she hoped to potentially uncover the secrets of this unique cultivation technique that had finally allowed her to step onto the path of cultivation and ascend from a normal mortal to a Qi Condensation Realm cultivator.

And so, with no hesitation at all, Lu Dongli put her full focus into cultivating without any break. Shocking her maid servant Yaoyao, who had never expected her young lady to suddenly break through to the Qi Condensation Realm during their trip to the capital city this time around.

However, though this breakthrough was unexpected, Yaoyao and the rest of the guards were filled with joy for their young lady's breakthrough to the Qi Condensation Realm. Knowing that this news would undoubtedly please the family head, who had been worried for his younger daughter who had been unable to step into the Qi Condensation Realm in the past.

Even more shocking, they soon enough realized that outside of just breaking through the bottleneck that had kept her from becoming a cultivator, their young lady seemingly advanced without any break after she officially became a cultivator. Reaching the Peak of the First Stage of the Qi Condensation Realm only a step away from the Second Stage of the Qi Condensation Realm by the time they reached the capital city. Making all of them realize that this young lady of theirs might be about to soar into the heavens in a single step like the young master when he had rapidly advanced in the past.

Of course, upon stepping into the capital city and informing the master about what had happened, Lu Dongli was praised beyond anything she had experienced in the past and the original goal of this trip to the capital city was soon forgotten as she dived headfirst into cultivation. Eager to catch up with her big brother who had a headstart compared to her.

Surprisingly, she found that she didn't have any real bottleneck after she started cultivating. Rapidly advancing through the Qi Condensation Realm at a speed far surpassing that of her big brother.

But… Along with the rapid increase in strength, she also felt the coldness that had started to spread throughout her body upon first entering the Qi Condensation Realm increase in strength to the point where it became painful for her to continue cultivating, something that ultimately resulted in her lively self, becoming more reclusive and solemn in the eyes of her family.

The only way to reduce or eliminate this coldness was through advancing her cultivation realm, as she clearly felt the pain being pushed back whenever her cultivation realm progressed.

Even if it did come back strong later, that momentary relief made her realize that if her cultivation became strong enough, she would be able to forcibly suppress that growing coldness that spread through her body.

At the same time, as time passed and she successfully managed to transcend from a young lady barely at the Qi Condensation Realm to a grown woman at the Foundation Establishment Realm, she realized that the coldness that had begun spreading throughout her body after she stepped into the Qi Condensation Realm had nothing to do with the cultivation technique she had picked up all that time ago at the river bank. Instead, it had to do with her inherent physique that had also been the reason why she hadn't been able to cultivate in the past.

Frustrating as all of this was. Especially knowing that she had a physique that seemingly wanted to kill her the second she stepped onto the path of cultivation, Lu Dongli didn't resign herself to fate and had no intention of giving up as she continued cultivating within her family. Single-mindedly focused on improving her cultivation to a point where she would be able to deal with this troublesome physique of hers.

In the end, this caused her to slowly drift away from those around her as she found herself spending almost every waking day deep in meditation trying to improve her own cultivation.

Normally, her family would have prevented her from closing herself of from the world like this, but after learning about the special situation that she found herself in, they understood that she didn't exactly have much of a choice in the matter and allowed her to focus all her time on cultivating to resolve this problem inherent to her body.

Not that her father hadn't attempted to resolve the problem, even having a Nascent Soul Realm Ancestor from the kingdom lend a hand at great cost, but no one had been able to solve the problem she faced. The Nascent Soul Realm Ancestor had even told her that reaching the Nascent Soul Realm might not even be enough for her to deal with the source of this deadly cold the permeated her body.

Still… Even with all of this, she didn't give up hope and continued wholeheartedly pushing forward. Soon enough catching her father off guard as she managed to successfully breakthrough to the Core Formation Realm at the age of forty. Bringing the overall status of her family up in the process, as no one outside the royal family and her own family knew about her special circumstances. Instead, believing that her family now had another powerful figure to rely on for the next few hundred years.

It was at this point that Lu Dongli found herself facing a problem she herself had never run into before… The pain from the coldness didn't just affect her but also began freezing the environment around her.

Though not dangerous at first, it grew to a point where no one below the Foundation Establishment could approach her without freezing to death. Leaving only a few members of her family capable of approaching her, one of which was her big brother who also had amazing cultivation talent, though not the same level as her, after these years, he had at least broken through to the Foundation Establishment Realm.

Like this, years continued to fly by and Lu Dongli slowly lost count of how many years it had been since she stepped into the Qi Condensation Realm back then.

From a young lady without cultivation, she reached the Eighth Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm, becoming an existence even the royal family didn't dare take lightly. Especially because her special physique allowed her to fight opponents far stronger than herself, a benefit she had found out by accident during her first ever battle when her family had been attacked by some royal scion trying to rebel against the royal family of the kingdom.

Now, her strength was already comparable to someone in the Domain Lord Realm, something she understood not from a personal battle with someone in the Domain Lord Realm, but instead one of the ancestors hidden in the depths of the royal family who had stepped into the Domain Lord Realm.

Shocking as all of this was, Lu Dongli understood deep down that her strength would soon be gone, as she felt the pain of the coldness within her body growing with each passing day.

Strong as she was, she was unable to make much progress after she reached the Nascent Soul Realm. Spending an entire two years at the Eighth Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm so far before seeing signs of reaching the Ninth Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm.

Others might consider this kind of cultivation speed enviable and terrifying, but to her, it was far too slow. Even if she reached the Ninth Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm, she understood that there weren't more than two years left before the pain caused by the cold would become far too unbearable and would overwhelm her and turn her into a human ice sculpture, a fate she dreaded, but knew she couldn't stop.

Even then, she didn't want to give up and wanted to do everything in her power to prevent that from happening… And so, knowing that she had to try and seek out an opportunity to break through her cursed fate, Lu Dongli decided to leave her home and the kingdom she had grown up in. All in search of an opportunity to break the predicament she found herself in.

Even if she failed, she would at least be able to say she tried her best to overcome fate all the way to the end…
