Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 2147: Strange Change in the Ancient Formation

Chapter 2147: Strange Change in the Ancient Formation

“Someone is up ahead!”

“Another group of people? This is already the third since we escaped into this place…”

“Let’s just hope they aren’t people who have been stranded here for hundreds of years if not longer. Don’t forget the first person we ran into. At the Nascent Soul Realm but lost his sense of self and ended up falling into a crazy state after being a heart demon almost consumed him.”

At the same time Chun Hua and Qing Yi were observing the approaching caravan, the people from the caravan were also observing the three of them from afar. The warning from the last speaker causing everyone to grab their weapons tightly as they prepared for a worst-case scenario in case the group up ahead had also gone crazy.

Their past experience no more than a few hours earlier having traumatized every single one of them, as a crazy Nascent Soul Realm cultivator was far from easy to deal with even if they three people at the Nascent Soul Realm at their side and more than a dozen Core Formation Realm cultivators on the side providing support.

In fact, even with this overwhelming advantage, one of the three Nascent Soul Realm cultivators had ended up being injured, while three Core Formation Realm cultivators had perished alongside a dozen Qi Condensation Realm and Foundation Establishment Realm cultivators.

Whoosh~

However, just as one of the Nascent Soul Realm cultivators standing at the front of the caravan was about to use his divine sense to check out the three people in the distance, a terrifying pressure descended upon everyone present, as Qing Yi had already used her divine sense to thoroughly check the caravan to ensure her initial sweep of the group had been accurate

The pressure alone made it clear to every single one of the caravan members that the three people they had run into weren’t likely to be someone who had escaped into the ancient spatial formation to escape from the battle between the two large temples fighting for territory. After all, their strength was more than enough to make those temples back off and not dare to attack them, while at the same time, their strength was far too powerful for them to be wandering cultivators, as there was no way wandering cultivators that powerful would bother robbing a place like the Yellow Peak Region.

In other words, everyone present in the caravan had already concluded that Qing Yi, Chun Hua and the little monk belonged to the powerful cultivators who had once decided to explore the ancient spatial formation when it had first been uncovered and ended up trapped within for tens of thousands of years.

Although this was a bit too much considering how the pressure exerted by Qing Yi through her divine sense was at most comparable to the Soul Ascension Realm, the strongest people within the caravan had only reached the Second Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm and couldn’t tell what cultivation realm she had reached and could only guess from his own understanding of the situation. Guess that Qing Yi was some kind of old fossil that had remained trapped within the ancient spatial formation for tens of thousands of years.

Worse yet for the group of panicked cultivators, Qing Yi could hear every single word they said through her divine sense. Unable to stop herself from frowning visibly upon hearing how she was referred to as some kind of living fossil.

Even worse was when they got close enough to see her appearance, as they didn’t change their stance in the slightest and instead began praising her abilities in keeping herself youthful over so many years where even some long-lived figure at the Dao Seed Realm might see their appearance decline.

“Ahm! Greetings, I’m Qing Yi, a D-I-S-C-I-P-L-E of the Star Shattering Sect, we just recently found ourselves wandering into the spatial formation here by accident and didn’t expect to encounter some so soon after just running into this little monk.” Deciding to put an emphasis on her identity as a disciple to make sure these people didn’t mistake her from some old hag, though… In mortal terms, she might already be considered that…

Bad thoughts away!

Banishing her own dreadful thoughts to the long-abandoned recesses of her mind, Qing Yi silently waited for the caravan people to respond, as her kind greeting had ended up stun locking not just the leading Nascent Soul Realm cultivator that had come out to greet her, but also the rest of the people from the caravan.

“Ah! My apologies, I was just taken aback by how strong you were for a disciple, I’m Zhang Lei, the leader of this caravan.” Taking a good few minutes before coming up with a good response, Zhang Lei, the leader of the caravan stepped forward and introduced himself with a still shocked expression on his face that told her that he didn’t entirely believe what she was saying when she had called herself a disciple.

Still, Qing Yi couldn’t be bothered with continuing to insist, as she understood that doing so would only make her seem more suspicious to this group of people who didn’t even know about her sect, something that was rather easy to pick up on with how none of them had reacted to her mentioning her sect.

Even if the Star Shattering Sect hadn’t been around for long, it was still acknowledged as one of the most powerful forces within the northern region of the continent and was bound to get some reaction from this little group if they had heard about the Star Shattering Sect.

Unfortunately, while the name of the Star Shattering Sect might have already spread amongst the upper echelons of the Western Central Region, it was clear that the weaker cultivators not attached to any major power didn’t yet know about the Star Shattering Sect, something that was normal given how this was ultimately the Western Central Region and not the Northern Central Region.

If anything, had a random Nascent Soul Realm cultivator known about a newly emerging major power from the Northern Central Region that would have been impressive and a clear testament to his or her powerful information network that stretched beyond a single central region.

In the end, as Chun Hua jumped in following the somewhat awkward introduction by the two sides, the situation that had been somewhat tense calmed down as the people from the caravan became aware of the fact that they had only recently entered the ancient spatial formation and at the same time they also learnt the people from the caravan were in a similar situation.

Or rather, the caravan was made up of several different groups of people who had run into each other wandering around the ancient spatial formation over the past few hours. The leading Nascent Soul Realm cultivator, Zhang Lei, who was at the Second Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm, had run into three groups before meeting them, one hostile and the other two being led by the remaining two Nascent Soul Realm cultivators respectively.

In total, the caravan was made up of a little over twelve smaller groups of people who had ended up escaping into the ancient spatial formation over the past few hours to escape from the chaos brought by the war between the two powerful temples fighting for territory.

A strange situation to say the least considering how even a single encounter within a hundred years of wandering the ancient spatial formation was considered normal in the past.

Even though neither Zhang Lei nor Qing Yi knew anything about the spatial formation beyond its ability to trap people indefinitely, the situation they found themselves in was without a doubt strange.

“Ah! I think master mentioned something like this when I asked him about the Dao of Space in the past. From what I remember, a trapping formatting using the Dao of Space can create countless small independent spaces to trap people inside, but once the formation itself loses its power source or runs into a critical flaw that isn’t fixed, the independent spaces that make up the formation will collide with each other and merge together.

Hm… Beyond that, he also said something about the collisions potentially causing different spatial anomalies depending on the size of the spatial trapping formation involved, but I don’t remember it clearly, what master talked about was far too complicated…”

At this exact moment, as everyone was pondering over the strange situation that allowed all of them to meet, Chun Hua, who had gone silent after calming the situation, spoke up again. Drawing the attention of everyone present in the process-

Rumble~!

But before anyone could speak up to ask her, a loud rumbling sound caught everyone by surprise, as they watched the sky above the shimmer for a brief instant. Showing a clear sky before being shrouded by layer upon layers of grey clouds that had been blocking the view only a second earlier.

====UPDATE====

Important update for the future of this story, I have decided to move through with moving it towards ending. The reason is that I feel things have started to drag too much and it hasn’t been enjoyable for readers. Don’t want it to just become writing for writing’s sake and also feel like I have had far less drive to write lately compared to my second novel.

No, it isn’t a hurried ending and likely won’t be anytime soon, it will just mean I will cut away some of the things I had original planned on writing and instead follow the story points I already worte down long ago.

The current plan regarding the next few arcs of the novel is to finish the tower stuff as it isn’t anywhere as good as I wanted it to be and move to a sect development arc with a time skip.

!!!!!SPOILER!!!!!!

Won’t share more than that as it will be spoiler, but after the sect development stuff, it will transition into us leaving the Ewaria Continent and dealing with the little one that is still sealed near the sect.
