Chapter 2148: Way Out
Chapter 2148: Way Out
“The sky! That was the sky! Not the damnable clouds that seem to have covered everything above a few hundred meters ever since we entered this ancient spatial formation!”
“If what the senior, Chun Hua was it, said is true, is this perhaps a sign that the spatial formation is collapsing? Doesn’t this mean we will soon be able to leave this place once the entire formation officially collapses!?”
“Don’t get too happy! Did you forget the fact that she mentioned the different spaces merging with one another could cause some kind of spatial anomaly… And given the size and power of this ancient spatial formation, the spatial anomalies it causes will undoubtedly be more than powerful to wipe all of us out!”
Following the situation above head returning to normal, everyone began discussing the situation animatedly and because of how strong Chun Hua and Qing Yi were compared to them, they all believed her words about the situation without the slightest bit of doubt. Especially so because she had directly brought up her master in the process.
A figure capable of training two disciples to such a terrifying level and clearly also someone knowledgeable on the Dao of Space would undoubtedly know a thing or two about spatial formations.
If anything, the fact that both Qing Yi and Chun Hua didn’t show the slightest sign of fear even faced with the chance of being dragged into a spatial anomaly gave the cultivators present the confidence that they wouldn’t end up perishing despite the terrible situation they had found themselves in.
On the contrary, a few of the shrewder cultivators even began silently scheming on how to use this opportunity to attach themselves to this thick thigh. Hoping it would bring about an opportunity for them to go further in the future, as even in a place like the Western Central Region, without joining some large power, the limits of most ordinary people was the Nascent Soul Realm, with only a few managing to find the opportunity to break through to the Domain Lord Realm and even fewer going beyond that.
The three at the Nascent Soul Realm were the ones most desperate for an opportunity like this, as they understood that they would soon enough hit a wall upon reaching the limits of the Nascent Soul Realm and would need an opportunity to take it a step further or a sudden enlightenment that allowed their comprehension of a dao to surge enough for them to form a domain and step into the Domain Lord Realm, something that wasn’t exactly simple nor easy to encounter.
Aware of these thoughts going through the heads of the few stronger cultivators from the caravan, Qing Yi silently rolled her eyes.
She understood their situation and didn’t blame them. Only hoping they wouldn’t end up doing something stupid later that ended up putting all of them in danger.
After all, the reason why she and Chun Hua didn’t fear being swallowed up by a spatial anomaly had to do with the simple fact that they had their master’s safety measures to rely on and from the previous experience, it was clear that this safety measure was related to the Dao of Space. Making it perfect to deal with this kind of situation that was related to the Dao of Space.
Problem was, this safety measure might be able to get her and Chun Hua out of danger, but the same couldn’t be said for the cultivators from, as they would be left behind unless their master decided to make a personal appearance.
Not to mention confidence in her master’s means didn’t mean blind confidence, as she understood that there was always a chance that those safety measures might not work in the face of an ancient spatial formation that had been constructed by an ancient cultivator and left even the major powers of the different core regions helpless.
Weakened or not, it was still a terrifying formation whose collapse alone would undoubtedly cause massive waves within the Western Central Region that could spread out and impact the Northern and Southern Central Region as well.
For this reason, it was for the best if they could escape before the formation ended up collapsing completely. Moving as far away as possible before it officially collapses.
However, escaping on their own was simpler said than done, as the only potential escape path she could come up with so far was the grey clouds above that had briefly revealed the outside world during the earlier shaking.
If they could take advantage of another such situation, they might be able to directly fly out of the ancient spatial formation using the brief opening in the grey clouds.
Of course, with only her and Chun Hua having a cultivation high enough to enable flight, they would have to carry everyone along with them, but that wasn’t much of a problem given their current cultivation. At most it would take a bit longer, something that should be fine given how the sky had been visible for a good few seconds before the grey clouds rolled over and covered it once again.
Although it might be difficult standing on the ground all the time, they just had to linger around just below the grey clouds and take the opportunity to ascend the second an opening presented itself…
Whoosh~
“Huh!?”
“Wha- I’m flying?!”
“Aaah!? Help!”
And with a plan already laid out, Qing Yi wasted no time as she swept up the caravan along with the cultivators that made it up while leaving the little monk with Chun Hua. Ascending into the sky a second later before silently hovering just below the grey clouds. Not wanting to encounter a situation like the one she had just experienced where a way out presented itself, but she had been too slow to act.
Whoosh~
Following behind after realizing what she was doing, Chun Hua slowly came to a stop next to her. Using her domain to carry the little monk now looking down fearfully towards the ground below.
Not much different from the group of cultivators from the caravan who had been dragged up into the sky by Qing Yi.
Only the Nascent Soul Realm and Core Formation Realm cultivators remained somewhat calm on the surface. Knowing that even if they ended up falling from the sky, a few hundred meters wasn’t enough to kill them- or well, some Core Formation Realm cultivators wouldn’t survive such a fall but decided to put on a brave face after seeing the reactions of a few senior Core Formation Realm cultivators at the Later Stages of the Core Formation Realm. Not wanting to fall behind these seniors and end up screaming fearfully like the group of Foundation Establishment and Qi Condensation Realm cultivators who had still not adapted to the sudden change.
At the same time, they also more or less realized what Qing Yi wanted to do, as they had also seen the sky of the outside world earlier. Knowing that she didn’t plan on doing something evil like dropping all of them to their death from high up.
If her intention was to kill them, she could have simply relied on her powerful cultivation to do so, as it was clear she had the ability from how easily she had dragged over a hundred of them up into the sky without any of them having the ability to resist the powerful pull upwards.
Instead of fear, they more so felt grateful towards her. Understanding that she could have easily just left them behind when the sky opened again in the future without any of them having the ability to stop her from leaving alongside her fellow disciple.
Like this, the group slowly got used to floating and calmed down. Taking the opportunity to admire the strength displayed by Qing Yi, while at the same time also enjoying the experience of flying through the sky.
After all, while a core region was far more developed compared to the outer regions outside the core regions where spiritual qi was thinner, not everyone had the spirit stones on hand to afford to travel by spirit boat or buy a flying artifact. Only the few Nascent Soul Realm cultivators and some of the older and stronger Core Formation Realm cultivators had already experienced flying through the sky in the past.
Of course, it was fundamentally different from what they were experiencing now, as Qing Yi’s domain was saturated with the power of the different Daos, she had merged into it while breaking through to the Initial Stage of the Dao Domain Lord Realm. Meaning it could serve as a mobile dao field of sorts for these weaker Nascent Soul Realm cultivators who hadn’t even comprehended a single dao enough to reach the Pseudo Domain level. It was their first encounter with a dao so to speak.
In a way, it was a kind of fortuitous opportunity that would only be helpful to someone that had never come into contact with any kind of dao field or special opportunities, something that would essentially be useless to most Nascent Soul Realm cultivators, who knowingly or not would have encountered such an oppertunity in the past.
For three people to never have had such an opportunity before… Don’t know if it’s appropriate to call them lucky or unlucky…
