Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 2169: Using the Four One Last Time...

Chapter 2169: Using the Four One Last Time...

Leaving the fate of the four in their own hands, Xuan Hao’s attention focused towards a large building that had appeared before him in the shape of a small tower that’s should have once served as the personal research facility of an alchemist judging by the dozen small fields filled with spiritual herbs next to the tower and several spiritual herbs along the path leading up to the tower that should have broke out from the nearby spiritual herb fields over the years after the formations keeping the fields in an optimal state failed and broke down. Allowing the seeds of the different spiritual herbs to scatter around the tower itself.

The tower itself wasn’t located anywhere special and was inside a small garden connected to a larger palace, but even then, it had ended up garnering his attention because of how he clearly felt a deadly threat from within that seemingly unremarkable small tower that looked harmless on the surface.

If not for trusting his own senses and feeling worried about potentially losing the little golem he had managed to get his hands on along with losing the chance to obtain the profound inheritance that should be located somewhere in the depths of the palace complex he now found himself inside of, he would have already made his way inside that small tower to investigate the danger he was feeling in person.

But now... He couldn’t stop his divine sense from drifting back towards the group of four he had just decided to leave alone.

Watching as the four were happily bouncing around what looked like the sleeping quarters of noble lady holding what looked like a previous spiritual metal in their hands. Clearly overjoyed having found this unique little piece of spiritual metal.

I’m sure they won’t mind helping me out one more time... It’s just checking out a small tower. Who knows, they might even find something valuable that I won’t end up taking an interest in~

Convincing himself that he was doing this for their good, Xuan Hao extended his divine sense to cover the group of four before silently dragged them into an illusion that subtly guided them towards the small tower in a manner that seemed natural to the four, as to them, it just looked like they were exploring the ancient palace complex on their own and finding treasures along the way as they made it towards Xuan Hao’s location. Nothing was out of place, as Xuan Hao even deliberately designed a few traps for them to walk into along the way to make the entire situation feel a bit more realistic.

Not because there weren’t any traps or hidden formations within the ancient palace complex that he could make use of, but instead because even the weakest of those traps and formations carried enough strength to instantly reduce this little group of newly advanced Void Monarch Realm cultivators to ash.

The one lucky thing for them was the fact that most of these old and powerful formations and traps had long since degraded. After all, if he also had to navigate them through countless deadly traps along the way, he wouldn’t have bothered dragging the group of four into the depths of the palace complex.

As for why he didn’t use the Dao of Space to bring them over? That had to do with the fact that the Dao of Space was the only thing that was completely restricted within the palace complex.

Not to mention, spending a bit of time guiding them over also served as way for him to have them obtain a few things along the way as a form of payment for the danger they were unknowingly about to go through. The entire time, Xuan Hao finally began to understand why stronger cultivators would sometime grab a few random weaker cultivators along the way and have the explore ahead of them. Taking on the danger that they would originally have had to face on their own.

Of course, this wasn’t the outside world, but inside the ascension realm tower, he doubted he would be able to do thing kind of thing outside the tower. Especially knowing how this floor of the tower was unlikely to change much following him leaving or dying. In a sense, there was even a good chance he might run into this little group again in the future, though he would do his best to avoid getting them killed the next time around...

"Look! There is something up ahead!"

"Wow... So many spiritual herbs... We are going to get rich after we get out!"

"Hehe, don’t focus on those spiritual herbs, I think the real treasure that suspicious looking tower."

"True... From the looks might have been the place where an ancient alchemist studied his craft in the past. Even if no spiritual herbs or pills can be found still in good shape inside after all these years, the inheritance of an ancient alchemist is bound to be extremely valuable. Who knows, one of us might end up becoming an alchemist in the future because of it."

And as he was thinking about how he was going to treat this group of four better in their next lives, the four didn’t disappoint him, as even without the illusion formation subtly guiding them towards the tower, they were already running towards it filled with greed for the precious inheritance that might be waiting for them inside. Oblivious to the fact that something even a Late Stage Land Creation Realm cultivator like Xuan Hao found dangerous was lurking inside.

The entire sequence of events was of course closely monitored by Xuan Hao’s divine sense as the group stepped past the door leading inside the small tower. His divine sense remaining hidden within the bodies of the group to avoid detection from whatever might be lurking within the depths of the small tower.

But as they crossed the threshold and Xuan Hao saw the interior at the same time they did, he realized that the interior of the small tower was far larger than should have been possible. Stretching on for over a dozen kilometers before the rough wall could be seen far off in the distance. The entire space inside being filled to the brim with all sorts of unique alchemy tools and different storage shelves that looked like they hadn’t aged a bit, with some of the alchemy cauldrons still having a fire lit under them as some viscous liquid bubbled away inside.

"Oh? A group of juniors? How rare, I thought I wouldn’t run into anyone before this remnant soul of mine burnt out." But the most shocking thing wasn’t the interior itself, but instead the fact that an old man suddenly appeared before the group of four. Not just that, but through the wisp of divine sense he had left with the group of four, he could clearly sense that the danger he was feeling from the small tower came from this old man that had appeared before the group.

Even more shocking, he could tell that the old man was merely a remnant soul, something he had even directly admitted as he appeared before the group of four.

For a mere remnant soul to make him feel this level of danger... He was certain that this old man was undoubtedly someone that had surpassed the Profound Immortal Realm and stepped into the Venerable Realm when he had been alive or at least reached the Void God Realm. Although... He doubted it given how the soul was the weakness of the unique cultivation path of the fragmented continent and to survive for as long as he had, the soul of the old man had to be terrifyingly powerful. Far beyond what he suspected would even be possible for someone that had just entered the Venerable Realm, let alone the Void God Realm that was inferior when it came to the strength of the soul.

The only reason why his divine sense hadn’t been discovered immediately by this old man was because he had hidden inside the bodies of the four and the old man in question was already in a weakened state given how only a remnant soul was left of him... And one that seemed like it wasn’t going to hold on for long according to what the old man had said when he had emerged before the group.

Still...

"Aaah! Ghost! A ghost!"

"Ohh! A see through senior emerged!"

"I read about situations like this! Haha, to think I’m going to be the lucky protagonist, encountering an old senior who will bestow supreme techniques upon me just for calling him teacher!"

"I wonder what ghosts taste like and if it will increase one’s strength..."

Listening to the reactions from the four, he felt somewhat embarrassed on their behalf as he saw how the old man who had originally been excited at finally getting some company visibly began frowning at the weird exclamations of the bunch. Especially the one that had talked about eating ghosts...
