Chapter 2200: Myriad Treasure Hall (3)

As the meeting between Feng Chen and the delegation from the Myriad Treasure Hall led by the Dao Seed Realm cultivator called Zhao Long proceeded without any issues, Feng Chen, and Pei Yang who found himself sitting beside him, ended up learning about the Myriad Treasure Hall and what this mysterious power from the Southern Central Region wanted from them.

In simple terms, the Myriad Treasure Hall was exactly as its name suggested, a place that gathered treasures from around the world. Making the purpose for it coming to the Star Shattering Sect obvious, it wanted to obtain something of value from the Star Shattering Sect.

But outside of this, the two also learnt that the Myriad Treasure Hall wasn’t just some place that gathered treasures from around the world, but also the main power behind the different auctions taking place throughout the Southern Central Region. Having taken on the job of hosting auctions not for profit, but instead to more easily find and gather the treasures they wanted.

What kind of treasures the Myriad Treasure Hall wanted was a question Feng Chen had decided to ask outright hoping to guess what it was that the Myriad Treasure Hall wanted to obtain from the Star Shattering Sect.

Unfortunately, the answer he received left much to be desired, as the Myriad Treasure Hall truly did live up to the name. Collecting an endless myriad of treasures and cultivation resources from all corners of the continent.

The few examples he was given were either something he had never heard about before or something he had only ever read about but hadn’t seen in person.

Well... Except for a few treasures Xuan Hao had brought back with him in the past and stuffed into the sect treasury after realizing it wasn’t useful to him nor his disciples.

Still, though he knew about those things, he simply had no way to assess their value accurately. The only one who might have the ability to do so was Xuan Hao, but the person in question was currently in secluded cultivation. Having only left behind some kind of clone to take care of his disciples. Leaving much to be desired, as the clone in question had dissipated on its own a few days earlier. Only informing him that the main body was at an important bottleneck and had to focus everything on overcoming said bottleneck.

Happy as he had originally been upon hearing that the backbone of the sect was becoming stronger, he couldn’t help feeling a bit nervous having to engage in a conversation with a delegation from a force like the Myriad Treasure Hall.

Luckily, everything ended up going well in the end, as Zhao Long, the one in charge of the delegation, believed his questions along the way were standard probing question to understand his side better and also to try and grasp the degree of knowledge in the hands of the Myriad Treasure Hall.

And in that kind of situation, Zhao Long was more than happy to use the opportunity to show off by using the vast amount of knowledge he had absorbed before ending up in his current position. Holding nothing back as he happily chatted away about countless unique and rare cultivation resources and treasures. Feeling like he was back to a time before he had ascended to his current position when he was taking his ancient knowledge exam. Explaining his knowledge to a senior.

Unaware of this yet happy to learn so much new information, Feng Chen and Pei Yang both took advantage of the situation as they quietly listened to Zhao Long.

By the time the meeting came to an official end three days later, both Feng Chen and Pei Yang had barely had the opportunity to talk, with Zhao Long himself having taken up over ninety percent of the time on his own. Walking away from the meeting satisfied.

After all, though most of the meeting had been taken up by Zhao Long happily showing off his ancient knowledge like a student showing off what they had learnt to their teach, the rest of the meeting had been focused on what the Myriad Treasure Hall wanted to convey to the Star Shattering Sect. Listing countless rare treasures and cultivation resources that they were interested in obtaining in case the Star Shattering Sect had them.

Outside of that, there was also a formal request for a proper meeting with an elder from the Myriad Treasure Hall to discuss more sensitive matters. Showing that Zhao Long viewed Feng Chen as someone in the same situation as himself, having been sent out by the seniors behind him to probe the situation first before an official meeting could take place between the true senior figures behind the two.

Of course, Feng Chen understood this, but chose not to think about it as he had agreed with Zhao Long’s request. Planning to inform Xuan Hao about it and have him take over for him in the next meeting with the Myriad Treasure Hall. Knowing that even if he wanted to do it himself and Xuan Hao backed him up, there was no way such a thing would be seen positively by the Myriad Treasure Hall. Instead, it would more so look like the Star Shattering Sect looking down on the Myriad Treasure Hall. Not something he wanted to see happing.

At the very least, the agreed upon time for the second meeting was undecided. The reason behind this being that the current state of the Southern Central Region was in a state of chaos following a major power with a Star Creation Realm cultivator overseeing it having been destroyed by an ancient hidden sect that essentially only destroyed this power before leaving without bothering with the treasures and cultivation resources left behind.

The chaotic melee that followed was understandable, as the chaos hadn’t been contained to the former territory of the now gone major power, but had spread throughout the Southern Central Region, with several other major powers with Land Creation level strength behind them falling during the chaos.

Although the Myriad Treasure Hall wasn’t directly involved in the chaotic scramble, it was stretched thin trying to defend its auction houses spread throughout the Southern Central Region and wouldn’t be able to send an elder over before the situation calmed down. Something Feng Chen of course expressed his understanding of, as he had told Zhao Long not to worry about it and inform his seniors that the Star Shattering Sect wasn’t in any hurry and they could take the time they needed.

In a way, it was also because he learnt about this chaotic situation that he agreed to the meeting in the first place. Knowing that the chaos described by Zhao Long wasn’t something that would get resolved in a few months and would likely last years. Giving Xuan Hao more than enough time to emerge for seclusion before the sect had to meet with the Myriad Treasure Hall again.

That aside, with a future meeting already set in place between the Star Shattering Sect and the Myriad Treasure Hall, Zhao Long and his group had to stay close to the Star Shattering Sect so they could inform them when they got news from their seniors.

And not one to miss such a wonderful opportunity, Feng Chen decided to settle the group into Falling Star City. Giving them a comfortable place to rest and cultivate in peace while they waited for news from their superiors.

Even if the cultivation environment of Falling Star City was nowhere near comparable to that of the Shattered Star Peaks, it was still far better than outside and was a decent cultivation environment in the eyes of the delegation from the Myriad Treasure Hall. Not to mention, to them, they wouldn’t be spending that long waiting. At most a few years, that, to them, wasn’t much different from a mortal waiting a few weeks for news. It could even be considered a short vacation for them as they didn’t have anything to do while waiting.

This just so happened to be what Feng Chen wanted to take advantage of, as he specially informed Elder Song about the situation- and before long, the old man had already managed to befriend the group.

Who knows how he did it, but Elder Song did indeed have a way with words. Using the newly established friendship to gather a vast amount of information about the world and the continent.

Not that the group from the Myriad Treasure Hall gained nothing from their conversations with Elder Song, as he helped them understand the Dao Seed Realm that they hadn’t known much about before getting to the Star Shattering Sect. Even taking out a few cultivation notes, Xuan Hao had left behind within the sect’s library on the Dao Seed Realm to help the sect’s younger generation as a show of goodwill. An act that instantly won over the group, as they happily shared a few important pieces of information with Elder Song in return.

The entire situation left the observing Feng Chen speechless, as he could only silently look the other way as Elder Song did his thing.
