Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 2216: Offer (2)

Chapter 2216: Offer (2)

And indeed, like she was thinking, Xuan Hao was indeed considering her offer. Not just that, but he was also considering whether it would be a good idea to agree with a trade that involved dao rune blueprints. Even if incomplete, he understood from the way that Elder Green Willow was acting that a dao rune blueprint was undoubtedly invaluable throughout the Southern Central Region.

As for the phoenix feather... Before he had shown it off, it was clear that Elder Green Willow had no idea what it was. Meaning there was a good chance it had just been gathering dust within the Myriad Treasure Hall without them having any clue how to use it in the first place.

Even if the new knowledge about what the feather was might make it easier for them to sell, it was ultimately a fact that they wouldn’t be able to use it, something those potential buyers would also have to consider. Meaning there was a good chance the main selling point of the feather wouldn’t change much from it being something only those willing to sit down and research it bought.

Not to mention, there was a good chance that the Myriad Treasure Hall wouldn’t dare to carelessly sell the phoenix feather now that an ancient hidden sect had shown interest in it.

After all, though they had no clue how to use the phoenix feather, the fact that he had just shown interest in it made it clear that it would be useful for something. Only, they were bound to end up with nothing, as it wasn’t exactly simple to make use of the phoenix feather without an imprint like the one he had been granted against his will. At the very least, he had a feeling it would require the strength of someone above the Profound Immortal Realm to try and make use of those phoenix feathers and the power dormant within them, something that was impossible for the Myriad Treasure Hall, whose strongest figure had only reached the Star Creation Realm as far as he knew.

Even if the Myriad Treasure Hall did have some unfathomable strength that far exceeded what his sect had managed to gather on them, it shouldn’t be present within the Ewaria Continent and should be located either on the Fallen Immortal Archipelago or even further away from the Ewaria Continent.

In other words, not something he had to worry about unless he ended up falling out with the Myriad Treasure Hall.

Of course, though this was a possibility, with how the Myriad Treasure Hall was searching for dao rune blueprints, he felt it was unlikely there was some mysterious Venerable Realm cultivator behind it. After all, a being like that would already have a complete set of dao runes and should be able to share it with those below.

Incompatible as it might be for some, it would ultimately still be a complete path leading to the Venerable. Allowing those Star Creation Realm cultivators of the Myriad Treasure Hall to have a clear path to follow along as they advanced through the Star Creation Realm.

"How many phoenix feathers can your Myriad Treasure Hall offer in exchange for an incomplete dao rune blueprint?" Having thought the situation through, Xuan Hao decided to probe the situation to see just how many phoenix feathers the Myriad Treasure Hall had at hand.

If the Myriad Treasure Hal could offer hundreds of them on the spot, he would be more than willing to offer the first dao rune blueprint he had already completed.

Of course, not a complete version, but instead an incomplete one that pertained to the first half of the dao rune and avoided the second half that could be considered the true core of the dao rune blueprint.

"This... Given the fact that we didn’t originally attach much importance to gathering these feathers in the past, we don’t have that many on hand, but given a few months, we should be able to gather a few dozen of them." Hearing the question, Elder Green Willow hesitated for a second before answering the question honestly. Knowing there was no reason to lie about the capabilities of the Myriad Treasure Hall, as there was a good chance doing so would end up backfiring. "Ah! But if that isn’t enough, we can also offer other cultivation resources in return! Given how your sect has only recently emerged, I’m sure your sect is lacking many of the more common spiritual herbs and metals that emerged over the years. If possible, we can help you with these more common cultivation resources." Adding this on to make the offer more enticing.

This... Could work...

And as she had hoped, this offer was indeed enticing to Xuan Hao who had been wondering how he would be able to obtain some of the more common cultivation resources that normally wouldn’t make sense for him to ask for. Not to mention, getting several dozen phoenix feathers along with it for an incomplete dao rune blueprint was more than worth it in his eyes.

"The offer is tempting, but I would first need to inspect the phoenix feathers before anything can be concluded. So, for now, let’s leave things at this for now. Later, when your Myriad Treasure Hall has gathered the phoenix feather together in another few months, we can resume the talk. If you really do manage to gather over a dozen phoenix feathers, the trade for an incomplete dao rune blueprint is agreeable and we should be able to proceed when the time comes." Of course, though he wanted to accept immediately, he also understood doing so wasn’t the best of things to do, thus he decided to partially agree to the trade for now. Pushing back to actual trade a few months for the Myriad Treasure Hall to gather the phoenix feathers.

In the process, he didn’t forget to be vague about the actual number of phoenix feathers he wanted. Making sur the Myriad Treasure Hall would gather as many as possible to try and satisfy him and the Star Shattering Sect behind him.

Unknown to Elder Green Willow, as the two of them quickly went through the countless cultivation resources that had emerged since the end of the ancient era that they could use to substitute for the phoenix feathers in case they didn’t have enough, Xuan Hao made sure to add on several unique and rare cultivation resources that the sect hadn’t been able to get its hands on in the past. Amongst which were of course several spiritual herb seeds that could be used to grow the sect’s own supply of these rare and unique spiritual herbs in the future.

During the rather long meeting that followed going over these different newly emerged cultivation resources, Xuan Hao managed to carve out what would become a solid foundation for the sect in the future when cultivators above the Soul Ascension Realm began emerging.

And with the phoenix feathers already out in the open as the main thing the Star Shattering Sect wanted in the eyes of Elder Green Willow, she didn’t find these requests for some newly emerged cultivation resources odd in the slightest. On the contrary, she viewed it as a sign of goodwill from the Star Shattering Sect giving her Myriad Treasure Hall an opportunity to make up for the fact that they might not be able to gather enough phoenix feathers to satisfy the Star Shattering Sect’s requirements.

After all, though these cultivation resources were rare and unique even amongst major powers of the Southern Central Region, they were nothing to the Myriad Treasure Hall.

In their eyes, these rare and unique cultivation resources were in their eyes also something a powerful ancient hidden sect like the Star Shattering Sect would be able to easily obtain on their own. The main reason why they still needed them mainly had to do with the simple fact that they had only recently emerged and hadn’t yet had the time to properly interact with their surroundings outside of the Northern Central Region.

When the time came for the Star Shattering Sect to start interacting more with the outside world, they would undoubtedly have an effect on the overall state of the Southern Central Region.

Not because the Star Shattering Sect would expand into the Southern Central Region, but instead because the strength of the Star Shattering Sect was, in Elder Green Willow’s opinion, far too strong to be left alone. Potentially even drawing the attention of the nine core faiths that had been occupying the core of the continent.

After all, if she could guess that the Star Shattering Sect might still have an ancestor surpassing the Profound Immortal Realm around, so could those other major powers.

And no matter how injured or decayed such an ancestor might be, it still represented a level of power far above what any of the major powers in the Southern Central Region could contend with...
