Chapter 1044: The Holy Justice Citadel
Chapter 1044: The Holy Justice Citadel
Eliza replied to Jacob’s inquiry, "It is indeed as fellow myth just said. The Mythical Coalition has developed a method that can detect a newly born myth because every Quasi-Myth creates a unique phenomenon, also known as the Myth Phenomenon, such as a welcoming ceremony by the Legendary Plains.
"Oh, and the Myth Phenomena can’t be suppressed or remain hidden even if you’re within an Elemental Galaxy or Elemental Planet. That’s why I’m curious about your origin. Unless you are older than the coalition..."
Jacob knew what Eliza was hinting at from her last words and replied impassively, "I can understand your curiosity, but I can’t answer this question. Furthermore, now that I know about this Mythical Coalition, I still have no intention of joining them since I’m used to being alone and free."
Eliza’s eyes flickered as a cold glint surfaced in them before it vanished. "That’s entirely up to you. The Mythical Coalition wouldn’t force anyone who doesn’t want to be a part of it."
Jacob kept his silence, and Eliza did the same as the atmosphere became ambiguous. But both of them had their own thoughts.
The Silver Wyvern continues to travel within the depths of space for an unknown time before all of a sudden, the space in front of it parts like a veil, revealing an otherworldly sight.
In front of them appeared a realm wreathed in holy radiance, and Eliza finally spoke, "Welcome to the headquarters of the Cardinal Spirit Temple, the Holy Justice Citadel."
Jacob was astounded as he looked at the shining citadel, floating among drifting archipelagos of gleaming stone and flying cities large as continents. The citadel was like the crown jewel of the Cardinal Spirit Temple’s might.
Moreover, Jacob noticed something far away: islands, sanctuaries, and radiant phantoms were orbiting around a single, colossal structure at its heart.
As if sensing Jacob’s gaze, Eliza impassively said with a hint of pride and reverence, "What you’re seeing is the Temple of the Holy Justice God. It is also our destination."
As if following Eliza’s words, the wyvern descended along a skyway of polished crystal bridges suspended among floating sanctums and towering spires, each engraved with sacred runes that pulsed gently with holy light.
As they approached the heart of the citadel, Jacob’s eyes flickered slightly.
Before them rose the planet-sized angelic temple, its walls formed from an alloy that shimmered like condensed starlight. The intricate engravings seemed alive—vast murals of ancient battles, heavenly judgment, and ethereal figures locked in eternal prayer.
Outside the temple, a large formation enveloped the entire edifice—a translucent barrier of shifting gold and silver light. It shimmered like a living veil, carved with runes, pulsing gently in rhythm with the temple’s core.
Even Jacob, though a Quasi-Myth, could faintly feel the oppressive might radiating from it.
At this moment, Jacob’s gaze shifted towards something else. Standing before the great steps that led to the massive gates of the temple was a towering statue of the Holy Justice God itself.
But unlike the status of the Holy Justice God that Jacob had seen in the lower plains, this one was quite different.
A majestic, armored figure, holding a massive sword pointed downward, its tip resting gently upon the foundation stone. Twin wings of cosmic flame arched high above, and eyes of polished obsidian seemed to judge all who dared approach. A secondary barrier encircled the base of the statue itself, like a sacred moat of light, isolating it from all touch.
As the wyvern gracefully touched down before the grand steps, Eliza dismounted in a single fluid motion, her robes flowing like liquid moonlight.
Jacob followed without hesitation, his cloak fluttering softly as his boots touched the sacred marble ground.
As if waiting for Eliza’s arrival, priests and paladins clad in gilded armor kneeled instantly. Eliza seemed indifferent to this sight as she ascended the stairway, and as she passed, the priests and paladins’ heads bowed so low their foreheads nearly brushed the polished stone.
Jacob noticed the zeal and reverence in their eyes as if it was engraved in their very beings, as none dared look up. After he was also an unknown outsider and his appearance was contradictory to theirs, yet they didn’t question it under Eliza’s presence.
Jacob silently followed behind Eliza’s every step, and the barriers surrounding the main temple seemed to respond to Eliza’s presence silently. Layer upon layer of runic light gently parted like silk curtains, granting them entry deeper into the holy grounds.
The grand gates of the Main Temple towered hundreds of meters high, engraved with cosmic runes that pulsed in slow, thunderous rhythm. With a mere gesture of Eliza’s slender hand, the gates rumbled open, revealing a blinding brilliance from within.
"Welcome, Esteemed Myth," Eliza spoke with regal calm, her spiral eyes glinting faintly as she glanced back at Jacob, "To the heart of the Cardinal Spirit Temple—the Hall of Holy Justice. Few outside my bloodline or the Arch Priests have ever set foot here. Today, you are an honored guest."
Jacob said nothing, his eyes coldly scanning every detail of the holy sanctuary as he silently stepped forward into the heart of the Temple that ruled billions.
However, Jacob was unaware that Eliza hadn’t told him about the sacred formation of the Temple of the Holy Justice God, which can instantly kill a Dark Being by merely setting foot into the vicinity of the temple.
Although Eliza had said that she believed Jacob wasn’t a Dark Being, she still wanted to confirm her conjecture and lead him here. No dare being has ever dared to step foot in this place, and those who did have long vanished into history, even Legendary Kings and a reckless Quasi-Myth of Dark Beings long ago suffered a terrible death.
But Jacob remained unharmed, and Eliza was fully convinced that Jacob wasn’t a Dark Being. However, this also made Eliza secretly apprehensive of Jacob because, if he was a Dark Being, she could have efficiently dealt with him using the Holy Magic and formation.
Moreover, this would also have given her the legitimate right to attack him and utilize even the Mythical Coalition to deal with him because everyone knew Dark Beings were prohibited from entering into Eliza’s territory, and the Coalition made a notable exception to make this rule because of Eliza’s background.
Yet, now Jacob’s strength still remained a mystery, and Eliza was unsure if she should take action or not.
However, unlike Eliza, Jacob suddenly changed his mind because Immortika’s voice rang abruptly in his head!
