Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1043: Mythical Coalition

Chapter 1043: Mythical Coalition

The scorching winds of the Ashen Mirage Desert fell silent under the overwhelming presence of the Silver Wyvern. Its gigantic wings folded, scales catching the final rays of the sinking sun like molten silver, as the beast knelt low for its master.

Without saying another word, the Holy King Eliza extended her slender hand, palm open in a silent invitation.

Jacob merely cast a calm glance at her, then stepped forward. His figure blurred and vanished, only to reappear gracefully atop the wyvern’s broad back, a few paces behind Eliza. The wyvern did not so much as flinch, its will perfectly in tune with its master’s.

Despite Jacob standing behind her, Eliza didn’t react as if she wasn’t worried that Jacob would move against her and said, "Hold on." Her voice was as placid as a sacred lake, yet it carried the regal power of someone who had commanded armies and judged myriad beings.

With a single silent command, the wyvern’s wings unfurled, eclipsing half the horizon, before it shot skyward like a comet. The desert below shrank into a sea of shifting dunes, and soon everything faded behind them as they vanished into the starry crimson sky.

Jacob was astounded by the Silver Wyvern’s speed, and he also noticed something, ’Space Law manipulation! This wyvern is using space law to move between space...’

Jacob eyed the colossal wyvern, and a hint of malice flickered in his eyes. Still, it instantly vanishes before he looks at the back of the Holy King, who wears an indifferent expression, yet her spiral eyes seem to be revolving mysteriously.

"I hope exalted myth is comfortable." She suddenly said in a gentle tone.

Jacob knew, despite showing her back to him, that Eliza was watching him closely, and he even felt that if he showed any suspicious movement, this woman would instantly react.

Furthermore, right now Jacob’s cursed mana was empty, and he needed to recharge it. But with Eliza’s involvement, he can’t use the Dark Beings’ magic cores.

Nonetheless, Jacob wasn’t worried about Eliza’s actions because he could easily deal with all of her schemes. The only reason he agreed to follow Eliza was because her eyes fascinated him, and he also wanted to see the Cardinal Spirit Temple of the Legendary Plains, since it was the den of Faery Humans, his previous original race that he was reincarnated in.

"This is certainly a peculiar experience." Jacob impassively replied before he glanced at the small pointy ears hidden behind Eliza’s golden hair, and he said, "If you don’t mind me asking, you aren’t a Faery Human, are you? But you’re also not an elf."

Eliza’s spiral eyes flickered with a mysterious glint as she replied, "I’m impressed exalted myth could tell so soon. Indeed, I’m not a Faery Human, but I belong to the Holy Race of Fairies. Making me a Fairy. What about you? Exalted Myth also didn’t seem to be a Dark Being, yet your appearance is completely misleading."

’A Fairy?’ Jacob was surprised because he knew about this elusive race, which was considered extinct in the Legendary Plains, but there were many legends surrounding this enigmatic group.

Jacob wasn’t expecting to see a living, breathing Fairy one day, and not only that, but this Fairy was the Holy King, the ruler of the Cardinal Spirit Temple, and also a Quasi-Myth!

Moreover, Jacob knew that the origin of the Faery Humans was the Arch Justice Human Race and the Primal Faery Race. Not to mention the Eyes of Judge were the peerless ability of the Arch Justice Human Race.

But Jacob knew little about the Primal Faery Race, and now, looking at Eliza, he assumed that the Fairy Race, also called the Holy Race by Eliza and others, was probably a branch of the Primal Faery Race.

Without having such an origin, the Faery Humans won’t be at ease being ruled over by other races, nor will the Cardinal Spirit Temple allow other races to take the position of the Holy Pontiff.

Jacob thought about Eliza’s question and how easily she also saw past his appearance. But since Eliza was the epitome of Holy Magic, it was also understandable that she could easily distinguish between a Dark Being and others. Not to mention, her strange eyes were enough of a reason for Jacob to assume she could see more than others, just like him.

If he were wary of calling Immortika in front of Eliza, he would’ve already done so long ago. Ever since his encounter with Alexandra, he had been cautious about summoning the Cursed Immortality in front of others.

"I’m indeed not a Dark Being, but because of the scripture I cultivate, I became like this. As for my origin, it’s all in the past, nor do I care about it." Jacob causally replied.

’As suspected...I can’t deduct anything...’ A hint of frustration flashed past Eliza’s eyes, but she didn’t show it.

"Then I would like to know when you became a Myth? Because all the Quasi-Myths of the Legendary Plains are part of the Mythical Coalition. But there hasn’t been any announcement of a new Myth joining the Coalition." Eliza impassively questioned, and this was something she was most curious and wry of.

A hint of surprise flickered in Jacob’s eyes as he was completely unaware of this Mythical Coalition. But since Eliza had mentioned it, he knew it shouldn’t be a lie. Speaking of which, Jacob also couldn’t tell if Eliza was lying with his Eyes of Judge, which was another reason for his curiosity and wariness.

"It’s my first time hearing about the Mythical Coalition from the Holy King. Seeing your concern and surprise, I can safely assume that when someone becomes a Myth, the Mythical Coalition could find them?" Jacob probed.

’As expected...’

Eliza had already guessed that Jacob wasn’t a part of the Mythical Coalition, or he wouldn’t have dared to intrude in her territory so bluntly. Nonetheless, she also knew the Mythical Coalition merely existed to keep others’ Quasi-Myths from wreaking havoc in the Legendary Plains.

However, if something like the Temple of the Blazing Flame appeared, the Quasi-Myth wouldn’t care about the Mythical Coalition and fight for the treasure like everyone else.

That’s why Eliza also wanted to deal with the Temple of the Blazing Flames before the other Quasi-Myths within the Mythical Coalition realized its importance, yet Jacob’s sudden interference ruined everything.

Although Eliza could be considered one of the top three among the Quasi-Myths of the Mythical Coalition, Jacob gave her a sense of danger that she didn’t even feel from the founder of the Mythical Coalition!
