Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1230: Power Alone Determined Value!

Chapter 1230: Power Alone Determined Value!

Jacob could clearly feel Elia’s joy, trust, and her impeccable loyalty towards him, which hadn’t wilted; in fact, it had grown to a terrifying extent, and he was pleased with the Soul Tether Hex’s effects.

Now, even if Elia became a Mythical Being and awakened her curse talent to the full extent, she won’t be able to escape from the Soul Tether Hex, or even if Jacob cancels the hex personally, she won’t go against him, something Jacob was vying for from the start.

“Alright, let’s go!” Jacob commanded as his task here was done, and what happened to those dregs of Life and Dead Factions has nothing to do with him.

“Yes!”

Elia, without hesitation, acknowledged Jacob’s command and abandoned the survivors who had been with her, resisting the Undead Skyfall Canyons without any qualms.

After all, she had only approached them to serve her own purpose and used them as a distraction so she could reach the Legendary King Realm.

Even if she had some lingering thoughts about saving them, she knew Jacob wouldn’t agree and might even become displeased with her, so she dared not bring it up.

However, when those Legendary Kings heard that, their expressions became pale, for they all had been surviving to this point because of Elia, and today they finally saw hope of leaving this hellish place in Elia’s teacher.

They all thought the same thing in that situation. If Elia and her teacher leave, only death awaits them, especially without the mighty figure of her teacher, who made the Undead flee.

After all, the undead had retreated not because they feared the survivors, but because they feared the existence standing before them now, and once that existence departed, the Undead Skyfall Canyons would return.

Panic immediately erupted among the survivors.

“Death Lord, wait!”

“You can’t abandon us!”

“We fought beside you!”

“Please save us!”

One after another, powerful figures who once stood above countless lives began kneeling without hesitation.

The Wise King lowered his proud head first, his expression pale as he spoke urgently, “Death Lord, the Universal Bank is willing to offer all our accumulated resources if you help us leave this continent!”

The Spirit Eye King also stepped forward, suppressing the humiliation in her heart. “Everything within the Alchemy Guild can belong to you. Legendary inheritances, rare materials, ancient records… anything!”

Even members of the Dead Faction began speaking desperately.

“Death Lord!”

“You can’t leave us here!”

“We followed you through countless battles!”

“Please… please don’t abandon us!”

At this moment, dignity no longer mattered; only survival did, as many directly knelt toward Jacob as well, but unlike their pleading gazes toward Elia, none dared truly expect compassion from him.

Because from beginning to end, that hooded figure had never once looked at them as though they mattered, and his eyes were colder than death itself.

So, all their hopes shifted toward Elia as long as she softened and persuaded her teacher, then perhaps they still had a chance to live.

“Death Lord!” the Blood Moon King cried out unwillingly. “Even if you do not care for us, think of the countless others who trusted you!”

“Yes!”

“We’ll become your eternal followers!”

“We’ll offer everything we have!”

“Please save us!”

Jacob remained completely silent throughout it all, his emotionless gaze resting on Elia, calm and indifferent, as though he had handed the decision entirely to her.

Yet beneath that silence was another test, a test to see whether Elia would falter because of sympathy, whether she would burden herself with useless baggage despite understanding the cruel laws of survival.

Elia seemed to instinctively understand what Jacob was doing the moment she sensed his silent observation; her heart tightened.

But it wasn’t a hard decision to make as a terrifying death aura exploded from her body.

‘BOOOOOOM!’

The kneeling survivors were instantly blasted backward as overwhelming Death Law crashed down upon them like a dark sea, and several weaker Legendary Lords directly vomited blood.

Everyone stared at Elia in horror as the composed and mysterious Death Lord from before was gone. What remained now was the true sovereign of death who had clashed with the Undead Skyfall Canyons for years, cold and merciless.

Her abyssal eyes swept across the crowd with terrifying disdain before her icy voice exploded across the ruined battlefield.

“How dare you all display such disgraceful behavior before Teacher?!”

The surrounding atmosphere instantly froze.

“You insects dare attempt to use pity to bind me? You are not qualified!”

Every word struck like a hammer against their souls. The Wise King’s face turned pale. The Spirit Eye King clenched her fists silently. Even the Blood Doom King lowered his head unwillingly.

None dared retaliate because they all understood now, to Elia, they had never been companions, but only tools; stepping stones for survival, and now that her teacher had returned, they had lost even that value.

But the true irony was, they’ve been doing the same thing all this time and would’ve done the same in her shoes!

Elia then coldly continued, her voice carrying terrifying authority, “Teacher owes none of you anything! The fact that you survived this long was already because of my presence. Yet now you dare kneel before him and beg for salvation?”

Her killing intent surged violently, “If Teacher wishes, he can slaughter every one of you where you stand!”

The battlefield became deathly silent, and at that moment, even breathing felt dangerous, yet despair completely swallowed everyone.

Right at that moment, the Giant War King suddenly stepped forward, his eyes were bloodshot as desperation overcame fear.

“Wait!”

Everyone looked toward him. The Giant War King stared directly at Elia and shouted unwillingly, “I have a secret resource vault beneath the Enigma Elemental Galaxy! No, you can have the complete Enigma Elemental Galaxy and the War Giant Race as your servants!”

The moment the Enigma Elemental Galaxy was mentioned, Jacob’s eyes flickered faintly beneath the hood, and the Giant War King noticed it instantly as he hurriedly continued like a drowning man grabbing his final hope.

“It contains countless elemental treasures, law essences, ancient ores, legendary materials, and resources accumulated for countless years! I’ll give it all to you!”

He stared at Elia desperately and pleaded, “Just take me out of this continent!”

The moment those words fell, and Elia could even react, Jacob suddenly lifted one finger without any aura or fluctuation, yet the Giant War King’s instincts instantly screamed absolute death!

His expression changed drastically as he attempted to retreat, but it was too late for the next moment, his enormous body silently collapsed into black dust without any explosion, scream, or even resistance.

The mighty Giant War King, one of the strongest beings upon the Sagittarius Continent, vanished like ash scattered by the wind. Only several spatial treasures remained floating in empty space, the proof of his existence.

Jacob casually waved his sleeve, and the treasures disappeared instantly.

Dead silence followed as every Legendary King froze in absolute horror because none of them understood what had just happened. In one moment, the Giant War King was alive, and the next, he no longer existed.

Even Elia’s eyes trembled slightly despite already expecting Jacob’s methods to be unfathomable.

As the realization slowly settled in, terror completely overwhelmed them. The Giant War King had died without even managing to scream, and at this moment, no one dared move or breathe loudly.

At that moment, Jacob’s cold voice finally sounded, “Since I can simply take what I want…” His emotionless gaze swept across the pale survivors, “…why should I go through the trouble of helping any of you?”

No one dared to answer.

Meanwhile, Elia’s eyes shimmered with growing worship and understanding. It felt as though she had learned yet another absolute truth from Jacob.

‘Power alone determined value. The strong took, the weak begged, and begging only worked when the strong allowed it!’

Thereafter, space distorted silently beside Jacob, and an invisible shuttle emerged from the void like a phantom vessel crossing dimensions.

Jacob stepped toward it calmly before speaking one final time, “Let’s go.”

“Yes, Teacher.” Elia followed immediately without even glancing back at the survivors.

This time, no one dared stop them!
