Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1259: The Harvest Continues

Chapter 1259: The Harvest Continues

After receiving the summons, all the scattered vanguard fleets gathered in the quickest time.

At this moment, the central command chamber of the lead flagship was filled with heavy pressure.

Myth of Inferno stood before the main projection, his crimson robes flickering faintly as if woven from living flames. Beside him, Myth of Thunder crossed his arms, his massive body surrounded by faint arcs of destructive lightning.

Around them stood the high-ranking members of the vanguard, Legendary King Rank Commanders, and finally, the Myth of Black Archer.

The moment Jacob entered, several gazes landed on him, but they quickly moved away. The Black Archer had always been solitary, cold, and difficult to approach. His silence was normal, and his indifference was expected.

Jacob stopped at the edge of the gathering, saying nothing, and at the same time, Nyx continued her silent work without stopping.

Among the gathered commanders, seven were followers of the Order of Everlife. Two were directly blessed. One had a prayer channel hidden deep inside his dreamscape realm. They stood proudly, unaware that their lifespan was about to be shaved away in tiny invisible portions.

Nyx hummed happily inside Jacob’s mind, “This gathering is very considerate. I didn’t even need to search as I’m developing a unique sense towards that contaminated lifespan.”

Jacob ignored her boosting and focused on the projection as he had already given her orders; all he cared about was increasing his lifespan as quickly as possible and being done with this façade.

On the other hand, after everything was gathered, the Myth of Inferno issued a command, and the next moment, a detailed map of the Sagittarius Continent appeared.

On one side of the deadlands, far from the Undead Skyfall Canyons but still within the death mist’s influence, a bright red mark was blinking.

At this moment, the Myth of Inferno spoke in a solemn voice, “We have confirmed the approximate location of the survivor group.”

The chamber stirred with the Legendary Kings’ voice…

“Confirmed?”

“So quickly?”

“How many?”

Myth of Thunder’s eyes flashed as he swept his gaze across the room, and the murmurs instantly died.

Myth of Inferno continued indifferently, “According to the intelligence, the survivors are gathered within a hidden formation zone near the broken boundary between the Evil Domain and Blood Domain. Their current state is unknown, but they should still have several Legendary King-level combatants.”

Jacob’s eyes narrowed beneath the hood as the broken boundary between the Evil Domain and the Blood Domain was indeed close to where Elia had gathered the survivors before the Undead Lich King acted.

This information was too accurate and clearly not obtained through scanning, which suggests that his speculation that someone provided it to them was more likely accurate.

‘I guess I can’t waste more time…’

Although Jacob didn’t care about observation, this still ended up ruining his plans to take his time gathering the lifespan of the Order of Everlife Believers and the Mythical Coalition.

Despite his displeasure, Jacob remained perfectly still, completely acting like the Myth of Black Archer, who would not be surprised or suspicious and would simply wait for orders.

Myth of Thunder suddenly spoke, “The survivors might know what happened to the Undead Skyfall Canyons. More importantly, they may know why the undead armies retreated.”

Myth of Inferno nodded. “That is our priority. We move immediately. The fleet will advance in formation. Black Archer, you will scout from high altitude and suppress any hidden threats.”

‘Wait? They didn’t know what happened to the Undead Skyfall Canyons yet?’ Jacob was surprised when he heard it, since he had assumed they might already have known about his appearance.

‘If they really have someone who knew about the survivors, they should’ve also witnessed what happened to the Undead Lich King…yet they had no idea about it? What’s going on? Could it be they had really discovered the survivors on their own despite my subtle manipulation and redirecting them in the wrong direction through the Black Mechanic?’

Despite Jacob’s suspicion, he calmly replied, “Understood.”

The voice was cold and concise, exactly like the Black Archer.

Myth of Inferno then looked at the others. “No one is to act recklessly. The undead army’s retreat remains abnormal, and we haven’t been able to determine its cause. If this is a trap, we will respond as one force.”

Jacob’s gaze remained hidden, but his thoughts turned cold. No matter what the Mythical Coalition was going to do, it did not matter yet, for what mattered was that, with this information, the Myth of Reverend had most likely started moving.

Once the Myth of Reverend moved, more followers of the Order of Everlife would gather near Jacob, and that was enough!

The meeting ended quickly, and as the commanders left to prepare, Jacob turned around and walked out without haste.

Behind him, a Legendary King from the Order of Everlife suddenly swayed slightly, and he was also part of Jacob’s fleet.

His companion frowned. “Are you alright?”

The noble rubbed his forehead. “Yes… just tired.”

No one paid him much attention, but inside Jacob’s mind, Nyx giggled, “Another drop.”

Jacob’s expression remained unchanged.

Soon, the vanguard began to move, and with it, the harvest continued.

The vanguard fleet advanced across the Sagittarius Continent like a dark tide. Warships cut through the gray heavens, their defensive arrays fully activated.

Beneath them, the deadlands stretched endlessly, filled with broken mountains, black rivers, ruined cities, and countless corpses that had long since lost their owners.

Yet the strangest thing was not the death; it was the absence of the undead, as not long ago, the Undead Skyfall Canyons had flooded the continent with endless armies, forcing every living being into despair.

But now, the lands were empty. The undead had withdrawn so thoroughly that even their scouts were nowhere to be seen, which also didn’t seem like a trap, yet this made the vanguard even more uneasy.

Myth of Inferno and the Myth of Thunder both knew that an enemy army retreating without reason was far more dangerous than an enemy army attacking openly.

Jacob flew high above the fleet, his black bow resting behind him, his hooded figure blending perfectly with the dim sky. His role was reconnaissance, but his true focus was elsewhere.

Nyx had expanded her reach; whenever the fleet crossed a warship with Order of Everlife followers, she marked them. Whenever a commander approached the main fleet communication channel, she traced the faith residue in their dreamscape. Whenever someone directly blessed by the Order entered range, Jacob made note of them.

The harvest was plentiful but careful, almost harmless, yet the numbers were growing, from dozens to over a hundred. The contaminated lifespan gathered by Nyx was being continuously added to Jacob’s own lifespan.

Even Jacob could not help but feel some anticipation for this endeavor. If this could be refined properly, his lifespan problem would be eased significantly, and if it could be studied, the secret behind the Order of Everlife’s enhanced vitality might become his.

Lastly, if he could trace the source, Jacob’s eyes turned colder because then even a God’s faith system might become his hunting ground!
