Chapter 1272: Battle of Myths (1)
The Myth of Inferno slowly rose to his feet while crimson flames silently spread around him, distorting space wherever they passed. The surrounding temperature climbed at an astonishing rate, yet not a single spark escaped his control.
His burning eyes swept across everyone, “I refuse to believe those undead are stronger than us!”
One after another, the Quasi-Myths stood.
The Myth of Thunder grinned ferociously as violent arcs of azure lightning exploded around him, each bolt carrying the weight of Thunder Laws.
“Hahaha! Now this is what I came for!”
The Myth of Dark Blaze silently stepped forward while pitch-black flames spread beneath his feet like liquid darkness. Wherever they passed, even light itself seemed to dim, as though the flames devoured illumination.
“I was growing impatient.”
The Myth of Venom leisurely rolled his shoulders. An emerald mist drifted around him, and countless translucent venomous runes surfaced before disappearing again.
“I’ll deal with whichever one thinks poison belongs only to the dead.”
The Myth of Alchemy adjusted his sleeves, and thousands upon thousands of metallic runes emerged from beneath his robes, revolving around him like a miniature universe.
“A direct clash between Quasi-Myths…” His wrinkled face revealed a rare smile, “…what a magnificent experiment.”
Jacob silently stood as well, but hidden beneath the hood, his expression remained completely indifferent. Only the corner of his lips rose ever so slightly.
‘Perfect…the greater the chaos, the easier it becomes for Nyx to harvest their Dreamscape Realms.’
The Myth of Inferno raised one hand, “Attack!”
‘BOOOOOOOOOOOM!!’
The command citadel exploded open before five terrifying figures instantly shot into the heavens like meteors.
The Myth of Inferno became a streak of scarlet fire. The Myth of Thunder transformed into a bolt of heavenly lightning. The Myth of Dark Blaze vanished within endless black flames.
The Myth of Venom dissolved into drifting emerald poison. Countless metallic arrays revolved around the Myth of Alchemy as he calmly stepped through space.
Jacob simply disappeared without any fluctuations or sound; only a fading shadow remained.
—
Across the battlefield, the ten Dukes of Death simultaneously opened their hollow eyes, and their Quasi-Myth Rank Spells were complete.
Behind them, the Corpse Wyvern Lord slowly raised one skeletal claw as he coldly commanded, “Release.”
‘BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!’
The next moment, it was as if the sky shattered as ten catastrophic Quasi-Myth Rank Spells descended together.
A sea of collapsing black stars, an endless river of wailing souls, a sword shadow stretching across the horizon, a gigantic gray Death Sun, mountain-sized bone spears, an ocean of necrotic fire, a storm of cursed lightning, endless chains forged from death itself, a rain of world-piercing bone lances, and finally a gigantic skeletal hand large enough to blot out the heavens.
The entire battlefield darkened beneath ten simultaneous calamities.
At that very instant, the Myth of Inferno appeared before the descending sword shadow, still in his humanoid form.
The next moment, he simply clenched one fist, and the surrounding Fire Laws condensed infinitely until his fist resembled the birth of a miniature sun.
“Solar Dragon Fist!”
He punched.
‘BOOOOOOOOOOM!!’
The enormous sword shadow exploded into countless fragments before reaching the fleets.
“Hahaha!!”
The Myth of Thunder rushed directly into the collapsing black stars as lightning law erupted, and millions of thunder phantoms roared into existence around him, and every phantom carried violent Thunder Laws filled with destruction.
‘CRACK!!’
‘CRACK!!’
‘CRACK!!’
One star after another exploded.
The Myth of Venom calmly raised one finger, and an emerald world suddenly unfolded, with boundless poisonous mist expanding into a gigantic domain. The descending Death Sun entered it and immediately began dissolving.
The collision between Death Law and Venom Law filled the heavens with corrosive explosions.
Without moving from his spot, the Myth of Dark Blaze simply opened his palm, and endless black flames erupted. But unlike ordinary fire, these flames devoured both death and darkness alike.
The endless ghost river collided directly against the infernal blaze, and countless ghosts screamed before being reduced to nothingness.
The Myth of Alchemy gently tapped his ancient staff, and thousands of revolving runic circles instantly fused together. An unimaginably gigantic metallic array manifested across the heavens.
Every incoming bone lance struck the formation and was immediately dismantled into billions of metallic particles. The formation then reconstructed those same particles into countless divine chains that flew back toward the undead.
Elsewhere, Jacob silently appeared before the gigantic skeletal hand, but he didn’t draw his bow, nor did he reveal any aura. He merely lifted one finger, and the surrounding space abruptly distorted.
The skeletal hand froze before quietly collapsing into countless drifting gray particles without any explosion or shockwaves, for it was absolute annihilation.
Within moments, every one of the ten catastrophic spells had been intercepted, and the entire sky became a battlefield of colliding laws.
Fire, lightning, poison, infernal flame, alchemy, and darkness, every law shook the heavens, and space continuously collapsed before healing again.
The countless fleets below trembled violently beneath the aftershocks alone, and millions of soldiers stared upward with pale faces.
For many of them, this was the first time they had witnessed Quasi-Myths fighting without restraint. It no longer resembled a battle between living beings but resembled worlds colliding.
Not far away, the remaining eleven Dukes quietly observed everything, and for the first time, several ghostly flames flickered with faint surprise.
“They intercepted them rather easily.”
“They possess genuine strength.”
“They are not as weak as the previous invaders.”
The Corpse Wyvern Lord slowly chuckled, “So they do have some skills.”
A skeletal giant casually rested his halberd upon one shoulder. “But… is that all?”
The Axe Bone Tyrant slowly looked toward the battlefield, “Their strongest fighters are occupied.”
A poisonous green wraith spread its skeletal wings, and ghostly venom dripped from every fang in its mouth. “I’ve waited long enough.”
The Corpse Wyvern Lord nodded, “Go.”
Another five Dukes stepped forward.
The skeletal Poison Winged-Wraith locked onto the Myth of Inferno, and its emerald ghost flames burned brighter.
“A wyvern…just what I loathe the most. So, allow me to personally welcome you.”
A gigantic Death Giant carrying a mountain-sized hammer grinned toward the Myth of Thunder.
A shadow-like Lich enveloped in endless black curses chose the Myth of Dark Blaze.
An enormous Abyssal Bone Serpent slithered toward the Myth of Venom, poisonous mists colliding before they had even met.
Finally, a skeletal Arch-Lich carrying an ancient alchemical grimoire floated toward the Myth of Alchemy.
The remaining Dukes continued watching, none of them showed the slightest intention of helping. Because in their eyes, those five more Dukes would be more than enough!
