Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1301: Starfall: Judgment Sync (2)

Instantly, tens of weapons changed direction right where Jacob was looking and fired into the space where he had seen Alexandra’s figure!

‘BOOM!

Alexandra wasn’t far from the place where Jacob had seen her, and even she didn’t anticipate that Jacob could still get a glimpse of her despite all the chaos.

The moment the impact happened, she instantly dodged.

Jacob knew he had missed, but since Alexandra wasn’t using the Cloak of Occult anymore, he quickly scanned the area and again saw a vague dark flash.

Without hesitation, he increased the output…

“Ten percent!”

Several hundred weapons fired simultaneously.

‘BOOM!’

‘BOOM!’

‘BOOM!’

Alexandra’s expression changed when she felt the precision of the weapons focused on her, but she didn’t have time to think as she vanished!

“Fifty percent!”

This time, thousands of weapons fired, and the destroyed space collapsed around her.

Alexandra’s expression changed as a grim realization dawned on her. ‘He can see me?! Not only that, why do I feel like he can fire those weapons without any delay, exactly at my position? Don’t tell me he’s controlling the weapons through his vision?! Just kind of damn technology weapon is that, and from where did he get it!?’

The next moment, she twisted violently, and a Stellar Spirit projectile passed her chest; a spatial-severance laser cut through the darkness beside her, before a Magic-Nuclear rocket descended.

Alexandra’s eyes flashed as she focused on escaping, but the explosion behind her created another enormous black miasma that devoured the surrounding energy and surged toward her.

She immediately used darkness to tear through it, but her expression became increasingly ugly.

‘This is getting worse!’

Jacob’s eyes followed her like a satellite, yet even with the Eyes of Judge and Judgment Sync, he couldn’t completely perceive her. He could only see her vague outline whenever she moved at high speed or unleashed her power.

Yet that was enough, though barely.

“80% percent output!”

Almost all weapons instantly stopped firing randomly and quickly synchronized with vision, and the moment he saw the outline again, a barrage descended.

Alexandra’s expression turned rigid with fright because this time almost the entire Starfall was descending where she was, and she almost thought about activating the Cloak of Occult again.

But instead, almost tangible darkness burst from her body, and her figure wrapped like a twisted dark thread and dodged like an agile serpent in water.

Yet Jacob didn’t stop, and despite the failure to hit her, whenever he saw her…

“Fire!”

She dodged again, and he saw her again.

“Fire!”

The weapons responded instantly, and the battlefield became an enormous net of destruction. Alexandra’s figure flashed repeatedly through the gaps, but she was no longer calmly avoiding the attacks; instead, she was surviving them.

‘BOOM!’

A Magic-Nuclear explosion erupted beside her, and Alexandra was thrown backward.

At that moment, a trace of purple blood with a pitch-black sheen finally appeared at the corner of her lips. She was injured!

Her eyes became furious. ‘Damn him!’

She immediately stabilized herself, but a Death Law projectile approached, and she avoided it. But the next moment, a Stellar Spirit projectile followed, and this time she barely escaped.

However, again, an elemental barrage came from three directions, filled with fire, lightning, wind, water, and earth… all of them collided, and the resulting explosion swallowed an enormous region.

Alexandra’s body was almost caught inside, and she forcibly tore herself through the darkness. But before she could stabilize…

‘BOOM!’

A Magic-Nuclear warhead detonated, and the resulting miasma exploded outward.

Alexandra’s body was struck by the edge, and it trembled violently before a thin line of blood appeared across her cheek.

Alexandra’s expression became utterly cold. ‘He almost got me.’

But Jacob had seen it too, and his hollow sockets burned.

‘There!’

For the first time, his Eyes of Judge caught her existence clearly enough to follow her for several consecutive moments.

“Black Mechanic.”

“Awaiting command.”

“One hundred percent!”

Instantly, the entire Starfall arsenal turned, and Alexandra’s pupils contracted.

‘No!’

Thousands upon thousands of weapons locked onto the region, and the sound of mechanisms moving together was deafening.

‘CLICK! CLICK! CLICK! CLICK!’

Thereafter…

“Maximum synchronized fire!”

Jacob’s cold voice descended…

“Fire!”

The entire sky exploded, and Alexandra’s face changed as she unleashed everything.

This time, the darkness emitting from her body erupted around her like an abyss of flames, and she vanished.

The first barrage missed, but the second came from above, and she twisted. The third came from behind; she tore open space. The fourth came from every direction, and she disappeared into the darkness.

Just then, a Magic-Nuclear warhead detonated directly beside her.

‘BOOOOOOM!’

The explosion didn’t simply destroy the region; it consumed it, and Alexandra’s body was thrown out of the collapsing darkness.

Her cloak fluttered behind her; blood sprayed from her lips. For one brief instant, Jacob’s Eyes of Judge finally caught her complete outline.

Jacob’s eyes widened with a hint of delight. “Got you.”

His killing intent erupted, but unbeknownst to Jacob, Alexandra had carefully calculated her trajectory to escape, despite almost being annihilated by the Starfall.

Right now, she had already reached the opened passage of the treasury. It was the same passage leading toward the sealed God of Hollow Undead.

Ever since she had realized the terror of the Starfall and fallen at a disadvantage against Jacob, she knew she couldn’t take down Jacob alone, let alone retrieve her Universal Godly Artifact. So, she decided to retreat back to Destin Saint and the God of Hollow Undead.

Although she had been cultivating the Chaotic Darkness, she still couldn’t use her Arcane Law and barely used the true power of the UGS. Even her ascent to her current rank wasn’t done in the traditional way because of Jacob’s disruption in the Path of Legend.

Even though she knew it would be humiliating to retreat and this chance to get back her Universal Godly Artifact might never come again, she still cherished her life more.

She could’ve also used her Universal Godly Ability, but she didn’t because Jacob also had his own, and she had no idea what it did. So, if she failed, it would be a disaster once the backlash surfaced.

That’s why she didn’t hesitate at that moment, and her body transformed into a streak of darkness and rushed through the opening.

The moment Alexandra vanished into the open passage, Jacob’s expression froze as he had overlooked this crucial escape route. But since the start, he wasn’t trying to hunt her; instead, he was defending himself and the Life Bane Wheel.

That’s why Alexandra managed to escape before Jacob could close off that escape point. Moreover, the passage was completely unaffected by the Starfall, which was evidence of the mysterious power imbued in it.

Even the treasury wasn’t affected much except for the space; all the sealed treasures were intact, and not even one was freed.

But Jacob was unwilling to let go of this chance, and for a split second, an almost irrational thought appeared, ‘Follow her!’
