Chapter 3699: Entanglement
Chapter 3699: Entanglement
The test of Rean, Zangeshu, and Tanxan’s System armor didn’t last long. It was over in ten minutes. Not that Roan had to stop, but because the System Armor had its limits. As always, when it defends against attacks, its runes are consumed/destroyed if they can’t fend off the power. That said, the runes from other places come and take the open area’s space.
Roan might have held back, but he was still too much for Foliana. She was kept on the back foot every single second, and the number of hits she suffered was no joke. Well, she had to receive those strikes, or the armor test wouldn’t be of much use.
Meanwhile, Rean, Zangeshu, and Tanxan looked at several screens near the battle, analyzing the information.
"Some of the runes seem to have failed to react in time to the damage and destruction of other runes," Tanxan commented.
"That’s to be expected," Zangeshu didn’t mind. "To make literally millions of micro runes work without issues requires too many adjustments. Some were bound to fail, especially since they need to work as if they are a single unit."
Rean also looked into the information. "We have the error codes, and we can debug everything later. For now, it will be better if we just accumulate more results." Right after, another one of those pyramid-like items, which was the armor in a deactivated state, appeared in his hand. "Foliana, catch!"
Foliana could barely move the poor girl. Still, she caught the thing absent-mindedly. Before she could ask what it was, the item burst into countless specs of light that were the micro-runes, replenishing necessary runes for her system armor. Now the armor was back to full capacity, and the holes it couldn’t cover earlier were gone. "Wait!"
Rean approached her, touching her shoulder. Right after, a burst of Light Element rushed into her body, healing all her injuries. Rean didn’t look at her, though. "Roan, continue the test. Try not to be so soft this time, okay? Your approach was not good. We need better results."
Foliana immediately tried to flee... which didn’t really end well.
Roan silently nodded, and the ’test’ was restarted.
This continued for another two hours nonstop. Zangeshu truly got a lot of the worm’s minerals, so they prepared plenty of micro-runes. As for the rest, well, they were probably one of the richest groups in the Universe, so everything could simply be bought.
"Alright, guess this is good enough," Rean spoke, looking at the crawling Folina not too far. Even if she got herself healed, she probably wouldn’t want to move anymore. "Thanks for the help."
Foliana wanted to cry. No, she was crying. She didn’t want to see Roan or anyone else there anymore. Sure, she probably gained a lot for participating in those ’tests,’ as Roan pointed out the many flaws in her combat. Still, it truly felt like hell. "If we go separate ways some day again, I’m absolutely never coming back!"
"Hahaha!" Rean laughed, patting the girl’s head. "Alright, alright. Here, have some."
"What is this?" Foliana took a bowl, which had some kind of creamy food inside.
"Hum? Isn’t that obvious? It’s some ice cream." Rean answered. Then, he turned around and left. He had many things to check with Zangeshu and Tanxan.
Foliana looked at it. Even in such an advanced Universe, she had never tried ’ice cream.’ It wasn’t that it didn’t exist, but that as a cultivator, she soon had no need for food anymore, so it had been many years since she put food in her mouth. The girl looked at the bowl of cold Ice Cream, narrowing her eyes. Yet, in the end, she still tried it out.
Just like Roan loves tea even though he doesn’t need it, Foliana found her own new favorite thing.
During the next few days, Rean’s group revised and updated the new system armor. Rean had Foliana, Roan, himself, and even Zangeshu help with the tests. By the end, the runes had pretty much no flaws in communication anymore, and the few issues that appeared could be ignored for now and ironed out with time. The important part was that it was much better than the previous one.

Everyone was doing their own things while they still waited. Suddenly, Sister Orb spoke to everyone.
[Hey, it’s Rifindio. He is calling.]
Kentucky was the first one to check his CD. "Oh! And here I thought the so powerful and incredible new Universe Owner had forgotten us."
-Stop that, Master. Do you think I don’t know you probably slept all the way until now? You never miss a chance to slack off.-
Everyone else nodded vigorously. "He definitely knows his master well."
"H-Hmph!" Kentucky didn’t care. "I cultivated nonstop for over nine hundred years. I DESERVED a little bit of time for myself."
"Whatever," Roan ignored the bird. "Rifindio, how’s things on your end?"
-The more important parts have been concluded, although I probably will still be busy for a while. A change like this is just too big, and just dealing with the fearful Camazotz Bats is already becoming quite annoying.-
He continued. -However, I’m able to spare some time for Master and you guys. Let me guess, is it about the Great Void Shifter?-
"Yes," Roan nodded. "You already knew we intended to use it. The problem is not really the shifter. We confirmed it truly uses an Abyssal Path. Our problem is actually finding our way to the right Universe."
-As I thought. While I was learning the various things regarding the management of F956, I was also made aware of how the Great Void Shifter works. It doesn’t just use the Abyssal Paths, but also has a type of connection going through these paths that connects to the other Great Void Shifter Formations in other Universes. When activated, you contact the other side through the Werdlem Network, both sides input each other’s ID, and the right path through the Abyssal Paths is selected. Just so that you know, there are many Abyssal paths entangled.-
"We knew the entangled part," Rean commented. "Well, we guessed it, to be more specific. Anyway, do you think we can use it?"
Yet, Rifindio sighed on the other side. -That will be a problem...-
