Chapter 3731: It Can’t Be
Chapter 3731: It Can’t Be
As planned, Rean and Kentucky found Frife-Ni’s contact in Hranwix Continent, and after Kentucky changed into his humanoid form, both were required to use the cloak. It’s had several inscriptions that limited one’s Divine Sense to just a few meters, and made it hard to tell where they were going.
Initially, Roan stayed in the Dimensional Realm, but Rean was told that Roan would be required to come out before seeing Frife-Ni. It made sense since Frife-Ni saw him through the call back in the Obsidian Dreadoxes’ mountain range.
With that in mind, the one the twins’ group would use to escape if necessary was Celis. Celis could feel the direction they were going, and followed them within One Light Year of distance. That was truly a huge range, which made Celis’s work a lot easier.
Too bad that they had to teleport in the end by using a secret formation in Hranwix Continent. With that, Celis returned to the Dimensional Realm before the Rean and Kentucky went away. Otherwise, he would probably fall off the Light Year Range.
Different guides, several teleportations, and the journey lasted a few days, just like Frife-Ni said it would. Five, to be more specific.
"We are here," the last guy to guide Rean and Kentucky spoke, a simple demon beast in the Void Tempering Realm. "Please, bring your friend out of your Pocket Dimensional Realm."
*Zush!*
Roan appeared in the next instant, making the demon beast narrow its eyes. Seeing a human in this place didn’t make him very happy. "You better not try anything funny. We are well prepared for any tricks of your humanoid races."
Roan glanced at him. "I don’t need any tricks."
Rean and Kentucky removed their cloaks as they wouldn’t need to move anywhere else anymore. "So, where is Frife-Ni?"
The demon beast pointed ahead, an empty land in sight. This was a desert, and other than countless dunes, there wasn’t anything else to see.
[It’s a concealing formation,] Sister Orb spoke. [It isn’t too big, just a few kilometers wide. Most likely used only temporary. Still, it is not too shabby. It’s at the Golden High-Level. Should I hack into it? This one shouldn’t take more than a few minutes.]
’Not now,’ Rean decided against it.
Soon, the demon beast brought the twins’ group through the concealing formation, and the desert in front of them was replaced by a rocky hill. It was still a desert all around that hill, but the sand didn’t seem capable of taking it over.
Rean, Roan, and Kentucky immediately felt three Divine Senses, all in the Divinity Realm level. Two in the Late Stage, and one at the Peak Stage. They came from two Minokawas and another Demon Beast with leopard features in its humanoid form. The twins couldn’t tell which race he was exactly.
Those three watched them, but didn’t move as Rean, Roan, and Kentucky passed by. At the top of the hill, a Space-Time Initial Stage Minokawa could be seen, looking at them. "So you really came. Weren’t you afraid of this being a trap?"
Rean smiled. "We are. However, we must find Puorton-Le and Vavalia-Hek, so we had to take the risk." Well, with the demon beasts they saw around, no one in the twins’ group was really concerned anymore. Just those three wouldn’t be enough to stop them.
Roan looked at Frife-Ni closely, and then at Kentucky, feeling irritated. "Two Kentuckys..."
Frife-Ni and Kentucky ignored him, though. As much as both of them wanted to deny it, they sure had a striking resemblance, both in their humanoid and Minokawa forms. They would never admit it.
Frife-Ni then waved his hand, and a formation was activated there at the top of the rocky hill. It wasn’t anything dangerous. It just made it impossible for others to hear what they were talking there, including the demon beasts outside. "Alright, before I decide this is a terrible idea and that I should kill you all, tell me what you know."
Kentucky crossed his arms. "You know all already. I’m your brother, and I’m looking for my parents."
"Ahem..." Rean intervened. "How about you tell him about how we met, or the feather from your father back then, also how we acquired Frife-Ni’s feather... That would make things easier, don’t you think? Come on, he is your little brother. Give him a reason to consider our words."
"Fine..." Kentucky sighed and then began to explain everything. "Have you ever seen anyone from outside this Universe?"
"Outside?" Frife-Ni didn’t expect that question. "I did meet one a few hundred years ago when he came to do business on behalf of Universe F981. He already left, though."
"Well, now you are seeing another three," Kentucky said. "This is Rean, Roan, and as you already know, my name is Kentucky. We came from another Universe, and so did our parents." He wasn’t lying, but Kentucky decided to refrain from mentioning that they actually came from outside the Werdlem Empire for the time being.
He spoke about how the twins found his egg, how they grew together, then about the feather from his father and the divine sense inside that told about his origins. He also told about Havira and how they got Frife-Ni’s feather from her. Of course, he left out many things, especially those regarding the Soul Gem and now the Celestial Soul System. "I guess this is pretty much the gist of it. However, I won’t hide it from you. There are a few more things you should know, but I can’t tell you without our parents’ consent first. I truly believe they left you in the dark for a reason."
Frife-Ni, as one could expect, was quite perplexed by the story, although he wouldn’t say he believed everything Kentucky said. "Sigh... then let me confirm one thing. What are our parents’ real names? That’s something that only the two of them, me, and a few close friends should know. Havira just so happens to be one of them." That included Karki-Tu, whom Frife-Ni spoke to earlier.
Kentucky nodded. "Well, I’m not sure if the name they told you is the name we know. Perhaps they lied about it, too. Anyway, back from where we came from, their names were Ratria-Ket and Ploto-Ume."
Frife-Ni went silent for a few seconds, but then he took out another tablet. It was very similar to the tablet that the Obsidian Dreadox used to call him before. "They won’t be very happy to get a call from me, but I guess there is no other way to confirm it for real. Yes, the names you gave are the same."
Frife-Ni approached Kentucky’s side so he would also appear in the call. Following that, he took a feather from his Pocket Dimensional Realm, dropped the same liquid on it, and put the feather above the tablet. A few moments later, another Minokawa finally connected, his image projection appearing above the tablet.
Kentucky didn’t need to see that Minokawa twice to know. That was definitely his father, Ploto-Ume. He got to see his appearance back when he found the feather with Ploto’s Divine Sense in the Lisan Universe.
Frife-Ni expected his father to immediately get angry for receiving a call at this moment, but when Ploto saw the two young men on the call, his expression changed. They looked a lot like each other. Truth be told, Ploto-Ume had never really seen Kentucky other than when he was just an egg. Nonetheless, he was certain. "I can’t be..."
