Death… And Me

Chapter 3739: We Won’t Wait

Chapter 3739: We Won’t Wait

Roan decided to return to the Dimensional Realm. "In any case, Kentucky probably wants to spend a few days with his parents. I’ll go back and wait. Let me know when we are leaving."

"Wait, Roan," Rean called his attention. "We have another problem regarding our next destination."

Only then did Roan remember. "The Great Void Shifter?"

"Yes," Rean nodded. "We can’t go to a Ranked D Universe without knowing which path to select once we enter the Abyssal Paths."

"What are you talking about?" Ratria and the others asked.

Rean didn’t speak about the system, but he explained the Abyssal Paths used by the Great Void Shifter Formations. He told them that they had a way to enter those Abyssal Paths and follow the right destinations... if they at least knew where they should go.

Ratria and Ploto were even more amazed. "No wonder you managed to come to our Universe. You used that method..."

Frife-Ni didn’t see how they could help with it, though. "What’s the point of telling us that? We are also a Rank F Universe. Worse, you had a Universe Owner on your side in the F956, but he still didn’t have that information for you. That said, it is even more unlikely for us to have the information about the paths of the Great Void Shifter Formations of our Universe. Well, at least not the information to bring you to higher-ranked Universes, just other Rank F ones at most. From what you said, the Universe Owner of our Universe likely doesn’t have access to that information either."

"Yes, I’m aware," Rean already expected that. "I’m not asking you for the paths used in the Great Void Shifter Formation of this Universe. Instead, I want you to give me access to one of the formations. There are five powers controlling the Divine Realm, one obviously being the humanoids. But what about the other four, including you? Even if it is a broken or worn-out formation, you should have a Great Void Shifter somewhere in the Demon Beasts Territory, right?"

Ploto pondered a bit, waving his wing right after. The formation that concealed their conversation came down. "Wergal, could you come here for a bit?"

Immediately, a Demon Beast came flying to the central area, landing near Ploto and Ratria. His name was obviously Wergal, and he was a Black Cetus, a type of aquatic Demon Beast. Although Ratria and Ploto convinced the Demon Beasts to start this war for the Universe’s Power, they definitely weren’t at the top of the food chain in the Demon Beast World.

There were a few other Divine Demon Beasts that had a greater authority there, and the Black Cetus Demon Beasts were one of them. Wergal was among the strongest Black Cetuses, a Divinity Peak Stage expert. Not only that, he was also one of the oldest. "What is it?"

Ploto didn’t waste time. "Your race is one of the oldest here in our Universe. Do you know if there was ever a Great Void Shifter Formation in our Demon Beasts Territory?"

Wergal narrowed his eyes. "Hum? I’ve never thought I would hear someone asking about that thing again, at least not outside the Ermmel Clan. The only Great Void Shifter currently in shape for use is likely the one in the Ermmel Clan State."

"However..." he continued, "our territory had them before. Three, to be more specific. But it truly has been a very long time since any of them were used. All three have been completely disregarded, so I doubt there is much to be done with them anymore. They definitely won’t work, that’s for sure. Besides, you will need the Werdlem Empire’s authorization to activate it anyway. Why do you ask?"

That was more or less what Ploto imagined. "Actually, it is not me, but this friend here," he pointed at Rean.

Rean took from there. "Sorry for disturbing you, senior. I need to see these formations, as there are a few runes that might be of some use here in this land. Would you mind telling us where we can find one? Preferably, the one that is most intact at the moment."

Wergal turned to Ploto, seeing him nodding. In any case, if there was anything that could help them, there was no need to reject. "If that’s all you need, I’ll send the guys to take a look and give you an answer by tomorrow."

"That’s good enough," Rean was happy to hear that.

Roan obviously understood Rean’s intention. Different from the Great Void Shifter they used back in F956, this one from the Demon Beasts would be under no surveillance whatsoever. He could take his time to analyze the formation, and potentially find the right Abyssal Path to take that would bring them to a Rank D Universe.

In fact, Rean’s thoughts went even deeper. He knew that there were Great Void Shifters that had been out of commission, just like these ones from the Demon Beasts.

One of the things that worried the twins’ group was arriving in a Universe in a place where the formation was heavily guarded. The one they used back in F956 was such a case. So, wouldn’t that be bad?

However, as Rean had already confirmed, even if the formations are broken and without use, the Abyssal Paths don’t disappear. His idea was to try to find the right routes. Routes that would bring them to a Great Void Shifter Formation in a Rank D Universe that had been disregarded, broken, etc. Simply put, Shifters that no one would be watching.

Wergal turned around to leave, but for a moment, he stopped, looking at Ratria. She didn’t look at him, though. Seeing her lack of response, he finally left.

Following that, Ploto activated the formation at the center again so others wouldn’t hear them.

"Kentucky... and friends, are you sure you don’t want to simply wait? I won’t even ask you to participate in the war directly," Ratria insisted once more.

Roan refused the idea. "First of all, we don’t know what kind of channel you will open. Would it truly bring us back to Lisan? If it isn’t, which I believe is the case, we would have wasted tens of thousands of years here for nothing. So, no, we won’t wait here. That will serve as a reserve plan, though."

Say what you might, but Roan was still worried about his wife and kid. Rean was no different.
