Chapter 3872: Spree
Chapter 3872: Spree
The less than ten thousand remaining participants were teleported back to the military base in the capital. Each of their Werdlem IDs got a passing mark on the official website. That way, no one who had failed could participate in the following events.
Of course, the president of the Verjansy Country wouldn’t start it straight away. The vast majority of those who managed to survive the ten hours were exhausted, injured, and depleted of Divine Energy. They needed time to recover.
"Congratulations to all of you," Bugel spoke over the network, his voice reaching the entire base and the online stream. "A total of 9561 participants managed to survive ten hours, which was actually more than I initially expected. That proves the youngsters this time around are a cut above the rest."
He continued. "We will have a two-day pause in the gathering so all of you can recover. After that, I want you all to gather here in the main field again. You are free to leave now."
And thus, the participants were allowed to return to their own backgrounds.
The twins’ group definitely attracted a lot of attention, but they were far from being the only ones. There were plenty of participants who looked to have passed the test without many issues, catching many eyes. Thanks to that, the twins’ group wasn’t the center of attention, although they did succeed in making a name for themselves.
No, that is not correct. There was one member of the twins’ group who actually got the most attention at the moment, and the rest of the twins’ group made sure to stay away from him. Who else could it be if not Kentucky?
"Kentucky!" One of the girls of the Liantrel Sect came running to him, a worried look on her face. "Are you okay? Did you get hurt?"
"Get out of the way," another one joined. "Here, Kentucky! I brought you a healing pill, a silver level one! It should help you recover fast!"
"Hmph! That’s nothing!" And yet, that one was pushed aside, too. "Here, take this! It’s an oilment that can gather Divine Energy in the surroundings to accelerate the recovery. It is definitely much better than that girl’s pill."
Kentucky, naturally, was loving that. "Hahaha! Girls, girls! Come on! I know you are all worried about me, but I’m a minokawa. I have very high defensive abilities. Sure, I got struck by a few attacks during the event, but they didn’t cause any serious injuries. I’m fine, so come here and give me a hug."
Several dark expressions appeared around, but from the men. They saw how all the girls jumped at the Demon Beast, hugging him as if their lives depended on that.
Well, that was just jealousy.
’Fuck! Why can’t that be me?!’
That was the thought most had.
As Kentucky spent his time calming the girls, other things began to happen in the military base.
The Surute Region’s top ten powers were obviously present this time around, each one of them bringing thousands of their disciples to take part in the gathering. If you looked at the survivors of the Infernal Plains, at least 40% of them were from one of those top ten powers.
Yet, even though they had the majority of the survivors, that didn’t mean they were satisfied. All of them kept their eyes open during the survival event, and now that it is finally over, their higher-ups stepped forward.
---
Rean found Trian in the middle of the survivors, cracking up a smile after seeing that Trian looked pretty fine. Yet, just as he was about to go talk to him...
"Hello, little friend," someone suddenly approached him.
Rean turned around, not recognizing that person. "Errr... do I know you, senior?"
The guy, who had the appearance of a middle-aged man with long hair, shook his head. "No, but I’m sure we can know each other better later on. I’m Willios, an Inner Elder of the Bautuk Sect."
"Oh!" Rean nodded. The Bautuk Sect was one of the top ten powers in the Surute Region. "How can I help you, senior?"
Willios smiled. "We have been watching you during the survival event in the Infernal Plains, and something caught our eyes. You are obviously much stronger than your cultivation suggests, which is good. However, what impressed us was your healing abilities. You always managed to heal pretty fast after being struck by enemies or the elemental storms."
Rean didn’t deny that. "Hehehe! I knew someone would notice me! Yes, I worked very hard to learn how to use my Light Element for healing, and I turned out to be pretty good at it! Senior, you have good eyes!" Rean still acted like a youngster himself, as he looked to be around thirteen at the moment.
For the elder, it was even better. "Very impressive indeed. So, it just so happens that my Bautuk Sect is particularly proud of our healing talents, be they pills, skills, formations, or equipment. Someone like you would have a big future in this area, so I would like to ask if you aren’t interested in joining us."
Rean shrugged. "That would be hard for me to decide, senior. I came from the City of Enrel, and I was taken in by the City Lord State. You have to understand that I also signed a Soul Binding Contract, so asking me directly won’t be of much use. You will have to talk to the City Lord and the owner of my contract."
"Soul Binding Contract?" Willios was surprised to hear that. However, it didn’t bother him. "No problem, no problem! The City Lord of Enrel City, right? I will have someone go talk to him straight away."
Rean nodded and spoke a little more with Willios. Only then was he allowed to go... just for another guy to approach him and make a similar offer.
Rean wasn’t the only one. Everyone in the twins’ group was approached. In fact, a good part of those who survived this time around, too. This was very normal, and everyone set out to catch as many geniuses as possible. The recruitment spree had just started.
