Death… And Me

Chapter 4002: Aby

Chapter 4002: Aby

Time passed, and the twins’ group made massive progress with cultivation. Tanxan was the first one to have a breakthrough after they gathered all together. He finally managed to get to the Late Stage of the Space-Time Realm.

Foliana followed a few tens of years later, naturally, having consumed Roan’s Lightning Laws pill, which greatly improved her comprehension of Lightning Laws. She got to the Peak Stage of the Space-Time Realm.

Tanxan and Foliana had an advantage. They, too, had access to all the Divine Stones and Xyrath’s help. Not to mention, they didn’t need anywhere near as much Divine Origin Energy as Rean and the others did. With that kind of advantage, the twins’ group already expected them to cultivate faster or around the same speed as themselves. Let’s not even talk about the Chaos Energy inside the Dimensional Realm.

Well, saying they were cultivating faster than the Rean and the others wasn’t entirely correct. With the system’s upgrades and such, and especially because of Celis, they absorbed a lot more Divine Origin Energy in the same time period. It’s just that they needed a lot more energy, and three types of energy on top of that.

In any case, Rean, Roan, Celis, and Kentucky were quickly approaching the Peak Stage of the Space-Time as well. Their most significant advantage was, of course, that they didn’t need to comprehend any laws. They only required energy.

But then, inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, someone suddenly woke up.

’Hum...?’ He looked around, recognizing the place he was at the moment. ’Am I still here? Still alive?’

[Hey, he woke up,] Sister Orb told the twins.

Rean and Roan immediately disappeared. Others noticed that, but no one cared since there was nothing wrong about entering one’s Pocket Dimensional Realm.

Inside, the two and Sister Orb looked at that floating soul. "So you are finally up, uh?"

That was the Abyssal Soul, which was confined inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm for a thousand years!

Back then, the twins made a deal with it. Its soul was capable of generating a tiny amount of Chaos Energy simply by existing. In exchange for setting it free from its confinement, it would stay inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm for a thousand years.

Aby, which was the name Rean gave to it, didn’t have much to do while it waited, so it asked the twins to put it to sleep during this time. Since then, it had just been there, generating Chaos Energy and waiting for time to pass.

Truth be told, the twins’ group had very little use for it. Chaos Energy was mainly suitable for comprehending laws, which the twins’ group had already done a long time ago. Even Kentucky, who came to the Werdlem Empire with a Late Stage Divinity Realm Soul, already made that last jump with laws and had a Peak Divinity Realm Soul now.

In the end, the only ones who really had something to gain from that Chaos Energy were the rest of their group, like Foliana, Zangeshu, Tanxan, and those at the Space-Time Realm. That was one more reason Foliana’s group could cultivate even faster, as comprehending the laws was easier for them due to Aby’s existence.

"Is it time?" Aby asked, feeling a surge of excitement. "Where are we? Have you finally managed to reach the Divine Realm?" He still believed they were in the same universe from which he was taken.

But then, he noticed the ridiculous amount of Divine Origin Energy around. "Wow... you are squandering quite a lot of Divine Stones to keep such an environment, uh? Have you struck it rich?"

"Well, we are rich," Rean shrugged. "However, the Divine Origin Energy you are feeling is from the environment around our Dimensional Realm."

"From the Environment?" Aby finally understood. "Wait! Are we in a higher-ranked Universe?!"

"Yes," Roan confirmed. "This is A1, obviously, one of the nine Rank A Universes from Werdlem."

"Incredible..." Aby had a hard time believing them. "Wait! Did you truly keep me asleep for only a thousand years?"

"Hehe!" Rean laughed. "Believe it or not, it has truly been exactly one thousand years since we put you to sleep. You’d better not complain. It was you who asked to be kept asleep during this time. As for how we got so far, let’s just say that your presence was the main key."

How could Aby not understand? As the soul of an Abyssal Beast, he knew what the twins could have used to get to such a place in such a small amount of time. "But... how did you survive the abyss-"

"This conversation ends here," Roan cut in, not letting Aby finish his words. "The point is, it has been a thousand years, so you are free to go anywhere you want from now on."

Aby checked his soul, noticing that it had recovered entirely after this long. That was to be expected, considering where it had been kept asleep. "So... can I truly go? What about the Chaos Energy my soul emanates?"

Rean and Roan truly didn’t care much about it. "It was useful... to some of our friends. For us, however, it’s truly nothing to write home about."

"Anyway," Rean took from there. "Let me give you an explanation of the current situation. It is up to you whether you want to come out straight away or wait until we resolve our issues here."

Aby then heard about the Future Realm, although Rean said nothing about Xyrath or anything else that could cause them trouble later. "And there you have it. There are quite a bunch of Space-Bending Realm kids in this Future Realm, so it might actually be a good place for you to find a host for yourself."

Aby was conflicted. Seems indeed a good place to come out, get used to a new body, and then go his own way. However, he was just a soul, and being left on his own might actually be a death sentence. Controlling a Space-Bending Realm Expert wouldn’t be hard, but if he meets a Space-Time or above expert, that would be complicated.

"I don’t like this idea. I don’t like this idea at all," said Aby. In the end, he understood this Future Realm was likely being heavily watched from outside. "Just put me to sleep again. Once you are out and in a safer place, wake me up and let me out."

"Hum?" Rean couldn’t help but ask. "Will you trust us on that?"

"What is there to trust about?" Aby asked back. "I’m inside your Dimensional Realm. You can do whatever you want to me. If you decide to keep me locked in the end, I can’t do anything anyway. So, I will simply trust you and hope things play out okay for me."

"Fair enough," Rean nodded.

And so, the Abyssal Soul was put to sleep again. For Foliana and Tanxan, that was even better, as they could use their time here to continue to use its Chaos Energy for their own comprehension of laws. The twins had no intention of going back on their words, though. Once they get out, they will let it go.

"Well, back to cultivating, I guess..."
