Death… And Me

Chapter 4055: Fun?

Chapter 4055: Fun?

’Kawa Blade Domain!’

Immediately, countless Feather Blades began to appear everywhere, definitely many more than the number of echoes deployed by Drukovich.

Following that, Kentucky’s Domain size quickly decreased to only a hundredth of its original size. That made his Feather Blades even more concentrated. Usually, it would be a bad idea since the Feather Blades would get in each other’s way. Many of them wouldn’t be able to gain the momentum they needed to cause more damage, as they clashed with each other along the way.

However, for this specific moment, that was the best choice. Kentucky simply made his Feather Blades fly everywhere. It wasn’t that he wanted to hit Drukovich. Instead, he used these clashes to cause limitless sound disturbances. Not only that, but they occupied so much space that there was almost nowhere for Drukovich’s echoes to materialize.

*Zush!*

Outside Kentucky’s Domain, Drukovich reappeared, looking at that Domain with a terrible expression. "Fuck!"

"Hahaha!" Kentucky laughed in response. "Come, come! Let’s see if you can catch me! No, wait! I’ll go after you myself!"

Kentucky’s wings began to burn with Light and Dark Flames, and he flapped them.

*Boom!*

A terrifying shockwave followed as Kentucky shot in Drukovich’s direction. His Domain’s Feather Blades, obviously, followed his movements while staying tight all around him!

Kentucky wasn’t just using speed, but also making it a dazzling show of effects. He was still just as fast, but now he created various shockwaves every time Drukovich changed position.

Drukovich gritted his teeth. Everywhere he appeared, Kentucky arrived in a moment later. There was a limit on the distance he could create his echoes, which increased when he used Celestial Energy quite a lot. It was definitely much bigger than Kentucky’s Domain at the moment. Thanks to that, he always had echoes in safe positions to flee.

There was a problem, though. Drukovich’s Domain could be considered quite overpowered, but once it was deployed, it couldn’t be moved. If Drukovich wants to change his Domain’s position, he must call it back and deploy it somewhere else, which obviously costs a lot of energy.

That’s because the energy of each one of the echoes couldn’t be taken back. Once out, it is out forever, and Drukovich was using Celestial Energy, which was being fueled by his comprehension of normal laws. Retracting his domain was never an option unless he intended to flee, which would cause his domain to collapse anyway.

"You forced my hand!"

Suddenly, several hundred swords appeared, almost every single one at the Divine Peak Level. There were even five at the Legendary Low Level, which were his most treasured weapons. They were different from regular swords, though. They were crafted with Drukovich’s Blood, Laws, and Divine Origin Energy.

*Zush, zush, zush, zush, zush...*

Normally, you would expect Flying Sword to shoot after the target. Drukovich’s ones, however, disappeared! No, they didn’t disappear. Instead, they began to swap places with all the echo locations that kept appearing everywhere.

Drukovich’s body was too big to enter Kentucky’s tightly packed Kawa Blade Domain. However, swords were much smaller than Drukovich’s body, so they required smaller echoes, which were enough.

Many of the swords began to appear close to Kentucky, piercing and slashing at his body.

Kentucky narrowed his eyes. Even with all his feather blades, he couldn’t block every single sword. Even those that were blocked immediately disappeared, only to reappear somewhere around Kentucky again and attack once more.

If it were just one entity, like Drukovich’s body, Kentucky was confident he could dodge in time, even if Drukovich appeared millimeters away from his blind spots. After all, Drukovich’s body caused disturbances in the space, which looked like a black hole inside Kentucky’s Natural Spatial Perception. That was the same for everyone above the Void Tempering Realm.

Those swords, however, caused no disturbances at all. The disturbances were caused by one’s cultivation level, not because the expert was controlling space power. Those swords were not changing position through spatial manipulation. They were using the echoes, which Kentucky’s spatial perception obviously couldn’t catch.

*swish, swish, slash, puft, slash...*

Kentucky began to receive injuries everywhere around his body as those swords appeared and disappeared right after they made contact. Kentucky was still pursuing Drukovich, but Drukovich kept changing his body position with his echoes as well.

Why hasn’t Drukovich used this method before?

There were actually two reasons:

The first was that he didn’t want to show others what he was capable of. However, the main reason by far was the consumption of his energy reserves and celestial energy, both together.

Drukovich had to burn much, much more of his comprehension of the normal laws to sustain that assault. He wouldn’t be able to sustain it for more than a minute before he burned up too much of his comprehension. At that moment, he would be unable to use Celestial Energy anymore. To make things worse, he would be weaker than any average Peak Divinity Realm Expert since he wouldn’t be able to use his laws anymore, either, or at least not properly.

Outside, Xixie bitterly smiled, looking at Kentucky. "Seems like he won’t last long. Sigh... At least I will follow you to the grave, Kentucky. Sorry for making you do such a thing."

Rean looked at her, his expression confused. "What are you talking about?"

Xixie and her brothers turned their heads in his direction. "He can’t beat that. Can’t you see?"

Rean looked at the images again, shaking his head. "I can’t see it, indeed. At most, it became a little more annoying for Kentucky to deal with."

"What?!" None of them believed, looking at Kentucky again. "Are you blind? He is being slaughtered by those swords!"

"Oh!" Rean finally understood. "You guys are talking about his injuries. Right, right... Sometimes I forget that not everyone is like me. Pay attention."

Back on the fight, Kentucky’s situation seemed deplorable. Drukovich was seeing that, but he wasn’t the least bit happy. He was going to win, but the price he was paying was no joke. He definitely would need thousands of years to comprehend the laws he lost today. He didn’t think he was lucky anymore. Even another Semi-Celestial would be hard-pressed to beat his Echo Laws and Affinity. The only way it could have been worse would probably be if Drukovich had faced one of the three Celestials.

However, it was then that Kentucky’s eyes shone. He flapped his wings again, shooting in Drukovich’s direction. Obviously, Drukovich immediately changed position... just for Kentucky to be right in front of him as soon as he reappeared again!

"What?!"

’Divine Bird Strike!’

Kentucky’s talons came piercing into Drukovich’s body, although slightly too late. Drukovich’s disappeared. However, so did Kentucky! When Drukovich reappeared in another echo’s place, Kentucky’s Talons, now with some extra blood on them, were already right in front of his face!

*Puft, puft, puft...*

Drukovich’s face and other parts of his body were pierced or torn slightly before he once again changed position. Yet, as he began his last transfer from one position to another, he noticed Kentucky’s body already rotating and his wings flapping in the direction he was going to appear!

*Zush!*

Drukovich appeared somewhere else, with more injuries on his body, and Kentucky’s right on his tail, ready to strike down.

*swish, puft, swish...*

Drukovich kept changing positions, trying to reach the echoes furthest from Kentucky. Yet, Kentucky’s speed increased more and more, and he was almost always there when the transfer was over. Drukovich couldn’t make sense of what was happening. How was Kentucky finding out which echoes he was transferring to?

But then...

*Grab!*

"Gotcha!" Said the bloodied Kentucky, his talons embedding into Drukovich’s flesh before he even finished changing places completely, making it impossible for Drukovich to do that again!

Drukovich vomited blood, his injuries serious, and his domain collapsing. All his echoes disappeared as his swords, which kept slashing and piercing Kentucky the entire time this exchange happened, fell from the skies due to the loss of his support. "How...? *cough, cough, cough...* How can you even move with those injuries?"

Kentucky looked at him, his body looking like it came out of a grotesque horror movie. "Injuries? Oh! Just one second."

’Life Style, Instant Recovery!’

In front of Drukovich and anyone watching his battle, Kentucky began to heal at ridiculous speeds. In a matter of three or four seconds, every single injury disappeared. Kentucky even used his Divine Energy to get rid of all the blood outside, now looking like a perfectly fine Minokawa. "They were just for show. I was just buying time to figure out how you changed positions with your echoes. Well then, goodbye!"

"Wai-"

Kentucky didn’t wait. His talons pressed forward, dark element and laws followed, and he tore Drukovich’s body and soul apart. Drukovich was dead!

Rules apart, Drukovich came after Kentucky with the intention to kill him from the very start. Kentucky wasn’t a saint, so why should he spare Drukovich instead? Thus, he simply did what had to be done.

As soon as Drukovich died, a silver light flashed around Kentucky. He knew he would be teleported back, so he changed back into his humanoid form as well, since his real form was too big. In the next second, Kentucky was already back in the Main Hall, appearing just by Xixie’s side.

"Well, that was fun."
