Death… And Me

Chapter 4148: A hunch

Chapter 4148: A hunch

Why did the twins take that action? Because of the 200000 Celestial Points reward offered by the system. It wasn’t as easy as Rean said it was. To get the Big Five to have people following everyone, they had to convince their leaders again to take that step further.

200000 Celestial Points were directly linked to the difficulty of the task. Roan was pretty certain that just giving Zuco half of the reward wasn’t going to be enough to get the turtle. Roan was right, since Zuco indeed had no intention of doing so. Thus, that plan, which worked in the end... even if they had to spend a few of the Celestial Energy Stones for it.

Had they not taken that precaution, chances were they wouldn’t ever retrieve Hyeoumu’s body, at least not without a lot more effort. Too bad that Roan was still not convinced. All these obstacles didn’t seem to be enough for that reward.

Nevertheless, they all gathered once more. As soon as Rean and Roan met in the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm and released Hyeoumu’s Body inside...

*Pin!*

[Congratulations, hosts. Hyeoumu’s Body has been retrieved.]

[Reward: 200000 Celestial Points.]

"Seems like this is really it," Rean commented.

Hick approached Hyeoumu’s Body with Nyxara and Soltrex. But then...

*Boom!*

An enormous burst of Celestial Energy came out of it, and the body began to increase in size nonstop.

*Vup!*

Sister Orb acted fast, teleporting it to another corner of the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm so it wouldn’t damage anything where the twins’ group lived.

Everyone teleported to the same place, watching Hyeoumu’s body changing. "What is happening there?"

Hick thought for a moment. "It is probably just going back to its original size."

"But why now?" Kentucky asked too.

"It happened when the other Primordial Demon Beasts approached it," Roan commented. "Most likely, it was supposed to happen when the presence of any of you was detected."

"Hum..." Rean pondered a little bit. "Couldn’t we have used it to find Hyeoumu’s body then?"

"No, it wouldn’t work," Celis commented. "We only have three Primordial Demon Beasts here that can move at the moment. Cloco Divine Ocean is still too big, and they would need to get very, very close to Hyeoumu’s body. In the end, it wouldn’t have changed anything. Each turtle that fit the description would need to be checked up close anyway."

"Oh! That’s true," Rean had to admit. Celis was right.

But then, Sister Orb remembered something. "By the way, Hyeoumu’s Body won’t grow to the same size as the Realm of Gods, right? Our Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm is very big, especially after the twins reached the Peak Stage of the Celestial Realm. However, it is nowhere near enough to fit something like the Hyeoumu back in the Lisan Universe."

"There is no need to worry," Hick confirmed. "Hyeoumu is indeed quite big, but nothing that ridiculous. His real body is about the size of an average planet. Still enormous, but it won’t burst out of your Dimensional Realm."

That actually piqued Rean and Kentucky’s curiosity. "Then why is Hyeoumu so big back in Lisan?"

"Because that wasn’t his body," Hick explained with confidence. "The turtle used by Hyeoumu suffered that growth as a side effect of Hyeoumu’s Soul. Well, truth be told, Hyeoumu could have controlled it, so he wouldn’t have grown that big if he’d wanted to. It’s just that it was convenient for him."

"So that’s how it is..." Rean and Kentucky nodded.

Sure enough, Hyeoumu’s body stopped growing once it reached the size of an average planet. It began to move slowly around, seemingly without any destination. "Without his soul, this body won’t be doing anything anytime soon. Let’s just leave it be."

Following that, Rean and the others contacted the leaders of the Big Five, telling them that they found what they wanted. For the Big Five, that was also good news. After all, they were supposed to help the twins’ group for a hundred years, but now they could stop. Those who acquired the Celestial Stones, especially, were more than happy to end their deal there... unless they could get more of those stones, which wouldn’t happen.

The twins’ group left the Cloco Divine Ocean on the same day. What should they do now? Obviously, time to steal another Spaceship. Or, to be more specific, a Great Void Spaceship.

However, as they moved away, Sister Orb felt bothered. [I know it took forty-two years for us to finally get Hyeoumu’s body, but I still think it was way too easy when you consider the 200000 Celestial Points.]

Roan nodded, agreeing with Sister Orb. "You aren’t the only one. Even though we got Tharos out much faster, I think his reward should have been higher than Hyeoumu’s body."

Rean looked at them. "Are you saying this is not the end?"

[Hum...] Sister Orb thought about it. [It’s not that it is not the end. Hyeoumu is already ours, and no one can track us at the moment, so that is definitely the end when it comes to retrieving Hyeoumu’s body.]

She continued. [It’s just that the reward/difficulty ratio didn’t match. At most, it should have rewarded us something similar to Vathrion.]

Vathrion, obviously, the Pillar of Karma that the twins’ group also managed to set free.

Hick suddenly spoke. "I think I know what is making you guys feel annoyed. Since you were paid so much and you don’t think it was worth such a reward, it feels more like you were purposely paid more for some other reason."

[Yes!] Sister Orb was happy someone could point it out. [That’s exactly how it feels, right? As if the system wanted us to get a lot of points at once.]

Roan’s memories went back to the previous Primordial Demon Beasts and then switched focus to the ones remaining. "Aurethra and Default. Extra Celestial Points..."

Then, Roan’s focus went to the Celestial System’s Upgrade List. Specifically, he focused on the Soul Connection Range. "Rean, join me here. Let’s buy the next level of the Soul Connection Range."

"Uh?" Rean was puzzled. "Why would we buy it? A million light-years should be way more than we need, no?" That was their range at the moment.

Roan agreed. "Yes, it is enough, but I want to see what comes after that."

Once you buy one of the upgrades, the next level is displayed, and it usually includes a description of what it can do. "Call it a hunch. I have no basis for this request. Still, we have plenty of Celestial Points, so it won’t change much for us."

Well, Rean didn’t really have a reason to refuse. "Okay..."
