Chapter 4351: Fortune
Chapter 4351: Fortune
Now the twins’ group had 53 Orb Points remaining. Ultimately, however, they decided to keep those points and not buy anything else. Although both Combat Replay and History Echo looked very tempting, neither felt urgent enough to justify spending their remaining points. Well, they didn’t have points for the replay, or somewhere they wanted to use the echo anyway.
The recent war had shown them just how quickly unexpected opportunities could appear, and having Orb Points available at the right moment could end up being far more valuable than immediately purchasing another upgrade.
"So, I guess we are done here," Rean said as he stood up, preparing to leave.
Roan also got to his feet. "I’m going back to my room."
However, Celis immediately stopped them. "No can do. All of you, come with me. We are going to the Treasure Hall. Our own rewards for the contribution to the war should be consolidated now."
For a brief moment, the twins completely forgot about that matter. Then Rean’s eyes lit up.
"Oh! That’s right!" he exclaimed. "Let’s go! Let’s go! It should be quite a big prize!"
Without wasting any time, the four immediately left Kentucky’s nest and headed toward the Treasure Hall. Naturally, their appearance attracted plenty of attention along the way. Ever since the rankings had been released, practically every cultivator in the Wangamiglia Sect knew their names. And now, once again, it was they on top.
The ranking system displayed not only positions but also identities, making it impossible to hide who occupied the top spots. As a result, everyone knew that the four highest-ranked Anchor Gods in the entire Besgol Region belonged to the same group.
Roan had secured first place, Kentucky second, Rean third, and Celis fourth. Of course, those rankings only determined one specific reward category. The prizes for each position had been established before the war even started, so the final number of kills no longer mattered once they had guaranteed their places. Whether they killed one hundred Godly Beasts or one thousand, first place gave the same reward.
Even so, the rewards were far from insignificant. Combined, the four of them received 1400 Godly Spawn Crystals and 600 Godly Beast Crystals. At first glance, it might not seem like much considering the absurd number of Godly Beasts they personally killed throughout the war.
However, the reward structure had never been designed with monsters like the twins’ group in mind. The organizers expected Anchor Gods to contribute, certainly, but not to completely dominate the battlefield the way these four had at their level.
A good example was the cultivator who finished in fifth place. He had killed nearly one hundred Godly Beasts during the war, a result that would normally have been enough to comfortably secure first place. If the twins’ group hadn’t existed, he would have been the undisputed champion among the Anchor Gods.
For someone like him, the reward was extraordinarily generous. The amount of Godly Beast Crystals alone exceeded what he acquired during the war by far, making the prize more than worthwhile.
The twins’ group was simply too much of an outlier.
Fortunately, none of them felt disappointed. The ranking rewards were only a small portion of what they expected to receive. More importantly, there were still the rewards related to their actual contributions during the war. Those contributions would never be publicly disclosed, especially anything connected to the operation that led to the death of the Three-Eyed Raven.
Once they reached the Treasure Hall counter, the employee immediately recognized them. His expression changed slightly before he checked something on his communication device. A moment later, he politely asked them to follow him into a private room.
The four exchanged glances but followed without complaint. Considering everything they had done during the war, they weren’t particularly surprised that their rewards were being handled privately. After leading them into the room, the employee excused himself and left, allowing the group to wait in silence.
A few moments later, a large communication screen activated. The image of a middle-aged woman appeared. Judging by the stacks of documents and communication windows floating around her, she was obviously very busy.
-Hum? Oh!- The woman smiled after spotting them. -Rean, Roan, Celis, and Kentucky, I presume?-
-Yes, Senior,- Rean replied.
-Good.- The woman nodded. -My name is Liafia. I’m one of the higher-ranking administrators of the Treasure Hall in the Besgol Region. More importantly, I’m one of the few people who know everything you accomplished during the war. Senior Tobao and Senior Arcis personally informed me of your contributions.-
She studied them for a moment before smiling again.
-I was tasked with delivering your rewards directly. After all, we wouldn’t want any unnecessary leaks concerning the small fortune you’re about to receive.-
Rean raised an eyebrow while Celis looked increasingly interested.
Liafia chuckled. -I have to admit, even knowing about your Weapon Intents and Celis’ support abilities, I never expected your group to accomplish so much. The reports I received were difficult to believe at first. Regardless of your advantages, what you achieved should have been impossible for Anchor Gods.-
The four accepted the praise without saying much. It wasn’t as if they could explain the existence of the Orb System.
Eventually, Liafia moved to the main topic.
-Anyway, Senior Tobao made sure you would receive your fair share of the spoils. On top of that, there is a considerable bonus related to the Godly Pressure Concealing Array blueprints.- She looked directly at Rean. -Don’t worry. Almost nobody knows you were the creator. By the way, you’ll probably receive a communication request shortly after we’re done here.-
Rean could already guess the reason.
"No problem," he replied. "I’m ready."
-Excellent.- Liafia nodded. -I’ll transfer everything directly into your Treasure Hall accounts. You may withdraw the resources from any branch in the Besgol Region using your identities. Just remember that if you decide to withdraw a large amount all at once, do it inside a private room. Carrying that much wealth around publicly is simply asking for trouble.-
A few moments later, all four received notifications. Their Treasure Hall accounts had just been credited with an enormous amount of resources.
-Well then,- Liafia said, -that concludes my task. On behalf of the people of Besgol, I am pleased to be the one delivering these rewards. Goodbye.-
The screen immediately went dark.
The twins’ group wasted no time checking their accounts. Because Roan had finished first in the rankings, most people would naturally assume he had received the largest reward. However, that wasn’t the case. The highest bonus had actually gone to Rean.
The reason was simple: The Godly Pressure Concealing Array had been instrumental in tracking the Three-Eyed Raven and making its death possible. Without it, the entire operation could have failed. Although Rean had refused to sell the blueprint and had openly stated that anyone could use it for free, Tobao still felt he deserved proper compensation.
What few people knew was that a large portion of this bonus had actually come directly from Tobao’s and Arcis’ personal wealth. The two Law Gods wanted to reward Rean without drawing too much attention to his importance.
Rean looked at the numbers and couldn’t help but ask, "This should be enough to reach the Late Stage of the Anchor God Realm, right?"
Celis looked like he had just discovered the greatest treasure in existence.
"A 6000 Godly Spawn Crystals, 3000 Godly Beast Crystals, and, believe it or not, 10 Godly Predator Crystals!" he shouted before bursting into laughter. "Hahaha! They really know how to repay a debt!"
Even Roan paid special attention to the Godly Predator Crystals.
"They probably assumed our future breakthroughs would be incomparably difficult due to the lack of talent," he said. "That’s why they included the Predator Crystals. Those are perfect for forcing through bottlenecks. Of course, the main reason we received so many of them was because of Rean’s array."
Roan’s guess was completely correct. Tobao and Arcis had personally discussed the matter before finalizing the reward. Godly Predator Crystals were extremely difficult to obtain within the Besgol Region. Even Law Gods like them usually only acquired one occasionally during expeditions into the Godly Creatures’ Territories. Giving away ten of them represented a significant investment.
If only they knew that the twins’ group would probably never face a true bottleneck in the first place...
"I hope they continue thinking like that in the future," Celis commented, already imagining how much cultivation progress those resources could provide.
The wealth they had just received was truly staggering. Even without counting the Godly Predator Crystals, their fortune would place them among some of the wealthiest experts at the Aura God Realm and below in the entire Besgol Region. Naturally, there were Aura Gods who possessed even greater wealth, especially those who had spent many years accumulating resources. However, for four Anchor Gods, this amount was simply absurd.
Unfortunately, that fortune probably wouldn’t survive for very long.
Rean suddenly smiled. "I’ll take half of everything and invest it in our airplane. I assume none of you have any objections?"
"What?!" Celis almost jumped out of his seat.
He definitely had objections. A lot of them.
However, after remembering that most of this fortune existed because of Rean’s contribution, his protest lost much of its strength. After a long sigh, he reluctantly surrendered.
"Fine..." he said. "But I’m using all the rest for cultivation. I’ll kill anyone who tries to use the other half for something else."
Rean laughed. Kentucky laughed as well, while Roan just nodded.
And just like that, the future of their newly acquired fortune was decided. Considering the spending habits of Rean and Celis, however, there was a very good chance that this enormous wealth would completely disappear within a few months.
