Chapter 4493: First Day
Chapter 4493: First Day
’Sister Orb,’ Rean called her attention through their connection. ’You have the most detailed view of our bodies as a whole. I believe you should be able to see whether this is working before anyone else, no?’
[That’s correct,] Sister Orb confirmed. [If the concentration of Godly Pressure really makes that much of a difference, I should be able to see the changes taking place inside your bodies before you can actually feel them yourselves.]
[Now that I think about it...] Sister Orb suddenly remembered something. [How about you also cultivate while you’re at it? I doubt you will find a place with as much Godly Pressure as this anytime soon. You also have plenty of Celestial Stones to use in the process, especially considering how ridiculously cheap they are here.]
It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that they could buy a hundred Celestial Stones for the price of a single Godly Spawn Crystal. Celestial Energy was everywhere in the environment, not to mention mines and veins, after all. Godly Energy was far more difficult to obtain. In most places, the main source of Godly Energy was the Godly Creatures themselves and the Crystals they produced. As a result, the difference in value between Celestial Stones and Godly Spawn Crystals was enormous.
The twins’ group, however, had a unique advantage. They had a cultivation technique capable of creating Godly Energy in much the same way as Godly Creatures. They simply needed to fuse Godly Pressure and Celestial Energy together inside their bodies to achieve the same result.
Celestial Energy had never been a problem for them because it was abundant almost everywhere, and they could also obtain huge quantities of it from Celestial Stones. Godly Pressure, on the other hand, was the real difficulty. Normally, acquiring a sufficient amount of it was a major obstacle, but this place had more Godly Pressure than they could possibly need.
’That’s an amazing idea!’ Celis was the first to agree. ’It won’t be as efficient as cultivating directly with a Godly Predator Crystal, but it shouldn’t be too far behind. And considering that the Celestial Stones are practically free, we can maintain it for a very long time!’
Roan nodded slightly. ’Godly Pressure has to enter our bodies first for the adaptation process to occur. Using that same Godly Pressure afterward to create Godly Energy shouldn’t interfere with our adaptation effort. If anything, we’re simply making better use of the energy that is already entering our bodies. Let’s do as Sister Orb suggested.’
The others quickly agreed, and they began bringing Celestial Stones out of their Spatial Rings and laying them around themselves. The stones immediately started releasing their abundant Celestial Energy into the surrounding area.
Ideally, they would have preferred to use the special arrays they had designed for cultivation, as those would make the process considerably faster and more efficient...
’Right!’
As soon as the thought crossed Rean’s mind, he accessed his Spatial Ring, and the airplane emerged into the open space around them. Naturally, the entire airplane was still covered by the concealing array, ensuring that its presence would remain hidden from anyone searching the surrounding area.
"Friend Coyui, could you bring us inside the airplane, please?"
Coyui immediately looked at the enormous machine with some concern. He had seen many strange things since meeting this group, but the airplane was still something he hadn’t gotten used to. "Those guys will definitely notice something this big if they get close enough, don’t you think? Even if they can’t use Celestial or Godly Sense, that’s still a rather large object sitting in the middle of the Ashen Hills."
Rean simply smiled in response. "They will not. Just bring us inside."
Coyui studied him for a moment before eventually nodding. He trusted that Rean wouldn’t make such a request if he hadn’t already considered the risks. He then grabbed everyone who was still outside and pulled them into the airplane. Arcis, Thery, and the others were brought inside alongside the twins’ group, while the hatch was deliberately kept open. That way, Coyui could quickly drag anyone back into the vault whenever their bodies reached their limits.
Once everyone was inside, Rean immediately went to work.
The first thing he did was activate the Light Bending Array Plates installed throughout the airplane. The effect was instantaneous. The entire airplane disappeared from sight, becoming completely invisible to the naked eye. Even without the concealing array Rean had established around the vault, the airplane itself could no longer be seen from the outside.
Coyui was obviously surprised.
Rean noticed his expression and couldn’t help speaking with a hint of pride. "The fact that you can’t use Celestial or Godly Sense really plays in our favor here. My marvelous airplane can bend light, making it completely invisible to the naked eye as well. So unless the enemy literally bumps into my airplane, which is floating a few meters above the ground, they will never notice it is here. It’s basically the same situation as the vault itself being hidden by my concealing array."
He paused for a moment before adding, "On top of that..."
Rean activated the cultivation arrays installed inside the airplane. The arrays immediately began operating, drawing the surrounding energy toward the cultivation area.
"...we can use this opportunity to cultivate as well."
"Cultivate?" Arcis looked at him in surprise. He was still barely able to move because of the Godly Pressure. "Are you seriously going to cultivate in such an environment?"
Obviously, other than the twins’ group, no one knew that they possessed a method of creating Godly Energy themselves, and Rean had no intention of revealing that secret. He simply smiled confidently.
"But of course!"
*Zush!*
One of the various Godly Predator Crystals they had collected on the way to the fortress appeared in his hand. He held it up so everyone could see it, providing the perfect explanation for what they were actually doing.
"I think this is the perfect opportunity to learn how to cultivate under stressful conditions. We just need to be frugal with the Godly Predator Crystals we have left, so we can’t simply waste them. You guys can cultivate however you want during this time. As for us, we’ll try to make the most of the environment."
The Godly Predator Crystal was nothing more than an excuse. To Arcis and the others, it would look as if the twins’ group were simply cultivating by absorbing the energy from the Crystal.
In reality, their actual cultivation would come from absorbing the enormous amount of Godly Pressure and Celestial Energy surrounding them. They only needed to merge the two energies inside their bodies, and with this ridiculous concentration of Godly Pressure, the process was far more efficient than it would normally be outside Woster.
Coyui looked at the arrangement and sighed.
"Well, as long as it doesn’t reveal our presence, so be it. All of you, let me know if you need to be brought back into the vault. I don’t want anyone collapsing."
With the cultivation arrays active, the twins’ group’s cultivation speed obviously accelerated. It was still nowhere near as efficient as directly absorbing a Godly Predator Crystal, but they were achieving an efficiency of around forty to fifty percent of that level, which was already an astonishing result.
More importantly, they had almost unlimited Celestial Stones at their disposal. Rean had made sure to buy many, many of them back in Besgol since they could be used for everything else in his airplane. With Celestial Energy essentially free in this place, they could continue cultivating for an incredibly long time without worrying about exhausting their resources.
And so, their cultivation began.
They spent the next several hours cultivating while simultaneously allowing their bodies to endure the immense Godly Pressure outside. The process was slow and uncomfortable, but none of them complained. Every moment spent under that pressure was potentially contributing to the adaptation they were desperately trying to achieve.
It didn’t even take a full day, however, before Sister Orb finally spoke to the twins’ group.
[Rean, you were right! Your bodies are being forcefully adapted to the Godly Pressure. The concentration of Godly Pressure really was the missing factor that prevented cultivators from outside this place from adapting to it and becoming immune to its weakening effect!]
Rean’s eyes immediately lit up with excitement.
’That’s great! Then we will definitely continue. Well, I still can’t feel any difference myself, but if Sister Orb says it is happening, then it is definitely happening!’
He had expected that any changes would take time to become noticeable from the outside, especially since they were beginning the adaptation process from practically nothing. As long as Sister Orb could confirm that their bodies were actually changing, that was enough proof for them to continue.
Kentucky suddenly had another thought.
’If we become naturally immune to Godly Pressure, will there be any use for the Sanctuary anymore?’
[Of course!] Sister Orb immediately answered. [Did you forget that it also has a weakening effect against Godly Creatures? That is definitely the most important aspect of the skill now, without a doubt.]
’She’s right,’ Roan agreed. ’With Rean’s Godly Pressure Arrays and my Anti-Godly Pressure Pills, the weakening effect of the Sanctuary has already become by far the most important effect of the skill. However, the ability to make Godly Pressure disappear is still very useful. Even if it isn’t necessary for us anymore, it will still be invaluable for other cultivators and allies who don’t possess our resistance.’
Roan paused before adding, ’Besides, there is no reason to discard something simply because one of its effects becomes less important. The Sanctuary is still our best system skill, and it could remain that way for a very long time.’
’I see...’ Kentucky nodded in understanding. ’Then let’s keep going.’
And with that, the twins’ group continued their cultivation and adaptation training, taking full advantage of the unprecedented concentration of Godly Pressure surrounding them.
