Death… And Me

Chapter 4560: Tail Feathers

Chapter 4560: Tail Feathers

At the same time, all over Dlaval City, the smaller pillars were also breaking. They were all part of the same system that controlled the isolation of Woster, so with the main pillar breaking apart, they no longer had the support of the arrays and began to fall apart as well.

Normally, such a thing would have caught the attention of the crowds passing through the streets where those pillars were located. However, no one really paid attention to them.

The entire Woster Sky was breaking apart above their heads, with enormous cracks spreading across and the illusion that had covered the world for countless years finally collapsing. Who would have the time or presence of mind to pay attention to the Goodbye World Pillars at a moment like that?

—

Back in the Woster Guarding Grounds, the cracks in the pillar shone with a deep Navy-Blue and Golden color. The light spread throughout the underground chamber, illuminating every corner of the enormous space and making the ancient inscriptions carved into the surrounding walls seem almost alive.

Roan continued to pour all the Yin Energy he could into the pillar. Unfortunately, his cultivation was sealed at that moment, so he couldn’t use his Godly Energy to generate and release even more Yin Energy. Even so, the amount he was providing was enough to cause an increasingly violent reaction from the being that escaped the womb.

It only took a few seconds before several figures suddenly flew out of the entrance at the top of the Woster Guarding Grounds. They were the Sect Master and the various High-Elders, with even more experts rapidly approaching from behind.

They immediately looked down, but the Navy-Blue and Golden light coming from the pillar was so intense that it completely obscured what was happening below. The entire underground chamber had been swallowed by that radiance, making it impossible to distinguish the figures inside.

Of course, they couldn’t simply stand there and watch forever. Zandal steeled his resolve and spread his Godly Energy as far as he could, forcing his senses through the overwhelming light. Only then did he finally see what was happening. Rean and Roan were standing beside the pillar, both touching it.

How had Rean appeared inside that place? More importantly, how had Roan disappeared back in the Meeting Hall and then suddenly appeared here? None of it made any sense. There was no time to think about it now, though. "It’s them! They’re doing something to the main Goodbye World Pillar! Stop them!"

Laws accumulated as Elements manifested and Godly Energy circulated through the bodies of the experts. Immediately, all the High-Elders and the Sect Master shot toward the twins. They couldn’t attack Rean and Roan, however. They believed twins were necessary to control the entering and exiting of Woster, after all.

The Sect knew there was an outside world. If the isolation was broken, what would stop other outsiders from flooding into Woster? Rosvelt had no idea how powerful the organizations outside were, nor how many powerful cultivators might exist beyond the barrier. They couldn’t afford to simply let the isolation of Woster break down completely.

That was another reason they wanted to control who could enter and who could leave. As long as they maintained that advantage, they could at least limit the unknown threat beyond their world.

Well... little did they know that in the grasslands where Woster was located, Woster would actually be considered an extremely powerful organization. They would find out about it eventually.

Zandal and the others reached Rean and Roan in an instant, releasing their energies as they attempted to capture the twins without seriously injuring them. However...

*BOOM!*

Out of nowhere, a huge blast erupted from the surface of the pillar directly above where Rean and Roan were standing. All the energy that had kept the sealed space intact for countless years suddenly rushed outward like a hurricane. Laws, Godly Energy, Elements, Techniques, Skills—nothing mattered. Everything and everyone caught in the blast was violently blown away.

Well, everyone except Rean and Roan.

That’s because they weren’t there to begin with.

The twins had been directly connected to the pillar and were therefore aware that something was about to happen inside. The instant the blast erupted, Rean and Roan entered their Dimensional Realm.

Yes, that’s how Roan had appeared by Rean’s side earlier. Their old method of using each other’s location to enter and exit their Dimensional Realm was finally back online!

No, a little correction. It wasn’t truly a Dimensional Realm anymore. Instead, it was the entire Vinx Great Void!

The only thing left behind was the spatial entrance and exit connecting to their current location.

Rean and Roan only appeared inside the Vinx Great Void for an instant, though. They had no intention of staying there. They merely used the Great Void to avoid the blast of energy. As soon as the shockwave swept through the underground chamber and blew everything away, they exited once more, reappearing in front of the now-destroyed gigantic Goodbye World Pillar.

*Rumble!!!*

With the pillar’s destruction, the Woster Guarding Grounds began to collapse as well. Massive chunks of rock broke loose from the ceiling, while cracks raced across the walls and spread through the floor. Rocks started falling from all sides, and it wouldn’t take long before the entire chamber was buried beneath tons of debris.

Of course, the Law Gods wouldn’t really die because of that. They could easily protect themselves with their cultivation, and once the collapse ended, they could slowly make their way back to the surface using their own power. The problem was that they wouldn’t be able to do anything to Rean and Roan anymore. They had to act before that happened.

The twins ignored all of that.

*Zush!*

What had caused the explosion was the being inside the Womb that had just been born. The explosion was its own method of escaping the sealed space.

One must not misunderstand it, though. The little one didn’t really possess all that power. It had simply used all the power stored within the sealed space to assist its escape by pure instinct. Without that massive reserve supporting it, the newborn creature was actually quite weak at the moment. Luxa could definitely defeat it easily if she wanted to.

Roan watched as the little mass of Navy-Blue and Golden light slowly descended, clearly attracted by his Yin Energy.

*Rawr!...*

Luxa looked at the scene with interest, and she could tell immediately what the little one was feeling. ’I can feel it happy...’

Roan extended his hand, and the light gently settled onto his palm. Slowly, the brilliant glow faded away, revealing the shape of what appeared to be a fairly common Raven.

Well, it would have been common if one ignored its eyes and feathers.

One eye was Navy-Blue, while the other was Golden. Its feathers were initially Navy-Blue as well, but the color was rapidly disappearing, being replaced by the Raven’s widely known black coloration. However, there was one exception.

Or, rather, two.

The little Raven had the same average number of tail feathers as a normal Raven, but two of them were noticeably much larger than the others, immediately standing out from the rest. The Navy-Blue color was also disappearing from these two much larger tail feathers, but the change was taking considerably longer. It was almost as if they were holding onto the colors that the rest of the creature’s body had already lost.

Roan glanced at those two tail feathers and then at Luxa’s three tails. He wasn’t an idiot. He could feel that those two specific feathers were special, just like Luxa’s tails.

*Caw!*

The little one opened its wing and rubbed its face against Roan’s hand. He was a lot bigger than Roan’s hand, so it was quite a sight. It was the same hand Roan had been touching the pillar with moments earlier, the hand through which he had been sending his Yin Energy into the Pillar. The newborn creature had finally found the Yin Energy it had been desperately craving.

Everything had happened in a matter of seconds. The Sect Master and the High-Elders had survived the blast without suffering any truly serious injuries, and they were already making their way back toward the destroyed pillar to discover what had happened.

Rean and Roan exchanged a quick nod.

Immediately, the spatial pull of the Vinx Great Void enveloped them.

By the time the Sect Master and the others arrived, Rean and Roan were nowhere to be seen anymore. Naturally, Luxa and the newborn Raven had disappeared along with them.
