Chapter 1294 Secrets of the Temple

Chapter 1294  Secrets of the Temple

Following the conclusion of the meeting, a final decision was reached with unanimous agreement. The secret domain of the Four God Nation would be opened exactly one week later. There would be no delays, no further discussions, and no reconsiderations.

Time was slipping away far too quickly, and the spreading red cloud reminded everyone that hesitation was no longer a luxury they could afford. The next seven days would be used to gather strength, stabilize their minds, and prepare for whatever awaited within that ancient domain.

As for who would enter the secret domain, the leaders agreed that only the most significant and capable figures would be allowed inside. These included the highest authorities of the Four God Nation, the Seven Overlord Forces, and the two great organizations, as well as individuals personally chosen by Max.

Among them were the seven squad leaders who had grown remarkably under his command and a handful of other geniuses Max had observed during the demon hunt in Nullaria. Their potential, courage, and adaptability had impressed him enough to warrant a place in this crucial expedition.

Each of these chosen individuals was informed of the decision, and they were given a full week to prepare their minds, bodies, and equipment for the journey ahead.

The secret domain itself was not something unknown to the Middle Domain. People from the Four God Nation had been entering it for generations. Every few years the entrance would open, and authorized groups would brave its depths, exploring landscapes saturated with ancient power.

Those expeditions always returned with valuable treasures, lost techniques, and spiritual inheritances that had strengthened the Four God Nation and its allied forces for centuries. Many cultivators considered the secret domain to be a divine blessing left behind by their ancestors.

However, within that vast domain sat a place that almost no one dared to approach. The Celestial Beast Temple. It was the most heavily guarded location within the entire secret domain, wrapped in layers of natural pressure and profound formations that even the greatest experts of the Four God Nation could not decipher.

The temple had remained shrouded in mystery since the earliest days of its discovery. People knew it existed, and they knew it was far older than the secret domain itself, yet no one had ever been able to uncover the secrets it held.

When Max asked why no one had entered the temple despite the centuries of exploration, the leaders of the Four God Nation gave an explanation that silenced the room. It was not that no one had ever entered the Celestial Beast Temple.

In fact, many promising cultivators had attempted to step inside, driven by ambition and curiosity. The problem was that none of them had returned. Every individual who passed through the temple's entrance vanished without a trace.

Their life forces disappeared from the sensing arrays, their spiritual signatures dissolved, and their communication talismans went silent. Even the strongest scouting formations placed at the entrance failed to detect anything once a person walked inside. It was as though the temple itself erased all connection to the outside world.

Generations of leaders had debated whether the temple held unimaginable treasures or unspeakable dangers. They could only guess. Some believed it was a place designed to test the worthiness of chosen inheritors of the divine beasts.

Others believed it was a tomb, a relic of ancient battles where remnants of divine powers still lingered. And a few feared that it was a sealed prison for something that should never be released.

Now, for the first time in recorded history, the Celestial Beast Temple would not be approached by explorers seeking fortune. It would be approached by warriors preparing to face the fate of their world.

And in one week, those chosen to enter would step into a place from which no one had ever returned.

Whether they would break that cycle or become part of the temple's silent history remained to be seen.

----

At this moment, Max was seated deep within the Lower Domain, inside the Tower of Truth. The ancient structure stood silent and unmoving around him, its walls glowing faintly with inscriptions older than most civilizations that had ever risen in Acaris. Max sat cross-legged in the secret meditation chamber of the tower, a room that pulsed with pure, undisturbed spiritual energy. He had just returned from spending several hours in the Dimension of Time, where days passed in moments and contemplation stretched without interruption. As he opened his eyes, a calm yet serious look settled across his face. He knew the time for idle reflection was over.

"Xolo, come here," Max called softly.

A gentle sound swept through the room, like wind brushing over still water.

Whish.

A golden silhouette materialized before him, taking the form of a tall man with radiant patterns etched along his body. Xolo, the spirit of the Tower of Truth, bowed his head in greeting. His presence had always carried stability and wisdom, something ancient enough to transcend normal understanding.

"What can I do for you?" Xolo asked, his voice resonating gently through the chamber.

Max looked at him carefully. "Xolo, the red cloud calamity spreading across the world… you should already be aware of it." His tone grew solemn as he continued. "It is not a natural phenomenon. It is a Devouring Spirit. These spirits move from world to world, consuming everything in their path to satisfy an endless hunger. This one has already marked our planet, and sooner or later it will devour Acaris completely. When that happens, everything will perish, including this tower."

He paused for a moment before speaking again. "So I was thinking… perhaps I can move you somewhere safer. Maybe another realm, another vessel, or a storage world until we find a solution."

Xolo remained silent for a moment, as though weighing the gravity of Max's words. Then he nodded slowly. "I have felt it," he admitted. "The entity you speak of has been pressing against the boundaries of this world for quite some time now. Its presence grows stronger each passing day, and its influence is spreading faster than most mortals can comprehend. If nothing is done, the calamity will devour the entire world without exception."

Max frowned. "Have you heard of something like this before? Do you know of any method to stop a Devouring Spirit?"
