Max nodded slowly at them, his expression gentle yet firm. "I will wait for you too," he said softly, then paused before continuing with a faint sigh. "But I would prefer you do not force yourselves. Just wait for me for at most five or ten years, and I will come back for you."

As he said those words, a quiet heaviness settled in his heart. According to what Freya had explained to him, ascension was not something he could cheat or bypass. During ascension, he could not take humans through the ascension tunnel with him. Life Space Rings were useless in this situation, and even his Dimension of Spirit could not be used recklessly.

If he stored humans inside Life Space Rings and attempted to ascend, the violent force generated by the ascension tunnel would crush the rings instantly, killing everyone inside without exception.

The reason was painfully simple. The Life Space Rings he possessed were of the lowest grade, never meant to endure the terrifying pressure of an ascension tunnel. If the ascension tunnel had remained broken, he could have bypassed the entire process and been pulled directly into the anchoring realm tied to him.

But now that the ascension tunnel had been repaired, the rules of the world were absolute. He would be forced to pass through the tunnel first before any anchoring could take effect.

As for the Dimension of Spirit, Max had questioned Freya carefully. He had hoped that the world inside him might be different, that it could shelter humans during ascension. Her answer, however, had been clear and unwavering.

It examined the being ascending, counted how many humans were attempting to pass through, and if it detected additional human or humanoid lifeforms hidden within another, the ascension would fail. Worse still, there was a risk of divine punishment. It was not a gamble she was willing to let him take.

Max had also asked about the other beings residing within his Dimension of Spirit. On that matter, Freya's answer had been calmer. The ascension tunnel only scanned humans and humanoid lifeforms. Spirits and similar existences were different.

They did not require an ascension tunnel to enter the Divine Realm at all. If their strength was sufficient, they could come and go freely without restriction.

Remembering all of this, Max looked at Alice and Lenavira with quiet resolve. He could not take them with him now, no matter how much he wanted to. All he could do was promise to return, stronger than ever, and make sure that when they finally ascended, it would be safely and without regret.

As for why he did not want them to ascend, Max's thoughts were far from simple hesitation. He was worried about something far more dangerous. If Alice and Lenavira ascended on their own, there was no guarantee they would arrive in the same world within the Divine Realm as him.

The Divine Realm was vast beyond imagination, filled with countless realms, factions, and powers that could crush mortals like ants. If they ascended to some unfamiliar divine world and encountered trouble, Max would have no way to reach them, no way to protect them, and no way to intervene even if he knew they were in danger. That was something he could not accept.

Because of this, Max did not want them to ascend at all. He wanted them to grow stronger within the safety of Acaris, to reach the very peak of Divine Rank without crossing the threshold. Only then, when they possessed enough strength to protect themselves, would ascension truly be safe. But even then Max want them to wait for him.

There was another reason, one that gave Max a quiet sense of confidence. He believed his class was different from all others. As the Dimensional Keeper, he was meant to govern more than just space.

He believed there should be a dimension within him that was specifically meant for humans, a safe realm where humans could exist without being crushed by divine pressure. He had asked Tian about this directly, and Tian had confirmed his suspicion. Such a realm did exist within him, but it remained locked. Only when Max's strength surpassed the Divine Rank would those deeper dimensions begin to awaken.

Tian had also warned him clearly about the ascension tunnel. The filtration of the ascension tunnel was absolute when it came to humans. It would detect hidden human lifeforms without fail and respond with rejection or punishment.

Because of this, Tian strongly advised Max not to take humans into the Dimension of Spirit during ascension, no matter how safe it might appear. However, Tian also revealed something important.

The dimension meant specifically for humans was different. It was not an external storage or hidden space but a fundamental part of Max's authority as a Dimensional Keeper. Once unlocked, it would be able to bypass any form of human filtration or scanning without triggering the ascension tunnel's restrictions.

Knowing this, Max was certain of one thing. He did not need to rush. He only needed time. Once he ascended, grew stronger, and unlocked those deeper dimensions, he would be able to bring Alice and Lenavira to the Divine Realm safely, without fear, and without risking their lives to the cruel laws of ascension.

"Wait for you?" Alice asked softly as she looked at Max, her eyes searching his face for certainty rather than doubt.

Max nodded without hesitation, his gaze steady and sincere. "I have a way to safely take you both to the Divine Realm," he said. "But it will take time for me to reach that point. Five years at the least, ten years at most. I cannot rush it."

Alice was silent for a moment before a small smile slowly formed on her lips. There was no bitterness in it, only quiet acceptance and trust. "We would have to wait that long anyway," she said gently. "I do not think either of us will reach the peak of Divine Rank in less than five years. Even ten years sounds reasonable, so we can wait. But you have to come back for us."

Lenavira stepped closer, her expression earnest and unwavering. "You have to promise," she said. "No matter what happens, no matter how far the Divine Realm is, you must come back for us."

Max did not answer immediately. Instead, he pulled both of them into his arms, holding them tightly as if trying to engrave this moment into his soul. When he finally spoke, his voice was firm, warm, and filled with resolve. "I promise," he said. "No matter where I am, no matter how high I climb, I will come back for you both."

Neither Alice nor Lenavira said anything after that. They did not need to. The promise had been made, and for them, that was enough.
