Chapter 1348 End of Day 1
Chapter 1348 End of Day 1
"Max. MAX. MAX. MAX. MAX." The chants erupted like a tidal wave the moment his final battle ended, rolling across the Divine Colosseum with a force that drowned out every other sound, as thousands of voices merged into one thunderous call that carried his name again and again.
"We will wait for tomorrow's battles, Max. Show us you are invincible tomorrow too," someone shouted with unrestrained excitement, their voice cracking as it was swallowed by the roaring crowd.
"Max, we will wait for you tomorrow," another voice cried out, followed by laughter and cheers as more spectators began voicing their expectations.
"I have a feeling Max will win all three of his battles tomorrow as well," someone said confidently, as if the outcome was already decided.
"Max, only you can defeat the Grim Gladiator, so do not disappoint us and keep winning your battles," another shouted, their tone filled with hope and fervor rather than mere entertainment.
As Max slowly walked out of the arena, the chants of his name followed him relentlessly, spreading through every corner of the Divine Colosseum until it felt as though the very walls were echoing his presence.
The excitement that filled the crowd was unlike anything the colosseum had seen in years, and many spectators found themselves more eager for the battles of tomorrow than for any legendary match that had taken place before.
Walking toward the underground passage, Max shook his head lightly as a thought crossed his mind, amused by the reaction he had stirred. He wondered if he truly had some strange charm about him, because with little effort he had managed to make all kinds of people cheer for him with genuine passion.
It was only after Max's figure completely disappeared from the arena that the crowd slowly began to calm down, their voices fading into excited discussions and lingering anticipation.
Even then, the lingering fervor did not fully vanish, because what Max had created in a single day was something no one else had managed to accomplish in years.
Many could not help but wonder what would happen if he truly defeated the Grim Gladiator one day, because the thought alone felt enough to drive the entire colosseum into madness.
"Is this the mortal Lady Virelia has chosen?" a middle aged man asked quietly from a high vantage point, his solemn gaze fixed on the now empty arena. He wore refined and classy clothing, and an air of seriousness surrounded him, making it clear that he was not an ordinary spectator.
"Yes, Lord Arckin," another middle aged man replied respectfully as he stood beside him, his posture indicating that he was a subordinate. "That is him."
"This Max is one hell of a genius," Lord Arckin said as he let out a slow sigh, his eyes narrowing slightly in thought. "We were instructed to secretly bring Max into the Grims Family, but I do not think that will be possible anymore."
His tone carried both admiration and concern as he continued. "Who would have thought that he would choose to fight in the Divine Colosseum instead of quietly going mining, only to create such an enormous ruckus in a single day."
"Lord Arckin, we can simply sneak Max away from the Divine Colosseum if you wish," the subordinate said with a faint smile, his tone carrying quiet confidence that suggested he already had the means to make such a thing happen without much difficulty.
"No, that would only make the Heron Family overly suspicious," Lord Arckin replied as he frowned slightly, his gaze remaining fixed on the arena below even though it now stood empty.
He fell into brief contemplation before speaking again, his voice measured and calm. "Let Max fight the Grim Gladiator. If he wins, then we will welcome him exactly as Lady Virelia instructed. That way, we avoid drawing the attention of the other main families. If he loses, then we may have no choice but to turn the Divine Colosseum upside down."
"Lord Arckin, would that not make the situation even more chaotic?" the subordinate asked, his expression growing serious as he voiced his concern. "If we allow Max to continue battling for another two days and even let him face the Grim Gladiator, his fame will spread far and wide. I believe that by then, even those outside Ascension Planet - 076 - Shikon would have heard his name."
He paused briefly before continuing, emphasizing his point. "The Grim Gladiator is a legend within the Divine Colosseum and certainly across this entire Ascension Planet Shikon. If Max were to defeat him, his reputation would undoubtedly soar high enough to reach the ears of other major families."
"I know," Lord Arckin said solemnly, his tone revealing that he had already considered these consequences. "But we are currently within territory owned by the Heron Family, and taking Max away by force would be impossible without creating massive chaos. Do not think for a moment that there are no elder level figures present here. They are simply sitting in seclusion, watching everything unfold. Because of that, forcibly removing Max is not an option."
He then added calmly, "We will wait for Max to obtain his freedom and then invite him to join us openly. In that way, neither the Heron Family nor the Divine Colosseum will have any grounds to interfere, and if the worst case occurs, I believe Lady Virelia will personally show herself."
The subordinate nodded silently at his side, understanding the weight behind Lord Arckin's words and recognizing that, for now, patience was the only viable path forward.
From the stands, as they watched Max's figure finally disappear into the underground passage, Jaden turned toward Lucia and asked in a low voice, "Are you coming to watch tomorrow's battles?"
"Of course, why wouldn't I?" Lucia replied with a wide grin, her eyes still shining with interest as she looked toward the entrance Max had used. "That guy's potential is extremely high. He might even become my rival one day, so we might as well enjoy watching his battles freely while we still can."
Jaden nodded slowly, acknowledging Lucia's words, though deep down she did not truly believe that Max would one day become Lucia's rival.
In her eyes, that kind of possibility was an overestimation of Max, because even though his talent was currently beyond anything she had imagined, standing on equal footing with Lucia meant reaching the very peak among the geniuses of the Divine Realm.
That level was not something one could approach through talent alone.
Even so, Jaden could not deny that Max possessed terrifying potential, yet in her mind, it would take at least hundreds or even thousands of years before his strength could reach anywhere near Lucia's level, if he ever managed to do so at all.
