Chapter 1367 Bloodline Types

Chapter 1367  Bloodline Types

"It is amazing, isn't it?" Lady Virelia asked as she glanced at Max, clearly noticing the shock and awe written across his face.

Max nodded slowly, his gaze still fixed on the endless black structures, the coiling dragon statues, and the rivers of silent black flames that stretched across the horizon. The scene felt almost unreal, as though he had stepped into a myth carved into reality itself, and he knew that if he stood here long enough, he might truly lose himself to it.

"But the Black Dragon Palace is only one of the many third rate forces in the entire Divine Realm," Lady Virelia continued, her tone calm and almost casual, as if she were speaking of something ordinary. A faint smile rested on her lips as she spoke, yet the weight of her words was anything but light. "There are far stronger forces scattered throughout the Divine Realm, forces whose foundations, territories, and legacies dwarf what you are seeing here."

She raised her gaze toward the distant sky, where enormous dragon silhouettes moved lazily through the clouds. "The Divine Realm is unimaginably vast. What you see here is merely a corner of it, a fragment that belongs to the Black Dragon Palace. Beyond this, there are second rate forces that command multiple star realms, each realm as big as our Verdant Sky Realm. Above them exist first rate forces whose influence stretches across regions so large that even traveling through them can take centuries, and their true power is something most cultivators will never even glimpse in their entire lives."

Lady Virelia then looked back at Max, her expression turning more serious. "I know what your heart desires. I can see it in your eyes. You wish to step out into that vast Divine Realm, to challenge stronger beings, to explore places where even legends are born and erased. But that world is not kind to the weak, no matter how talented they are. Until you reach a certain level of strength, I cannot allow you to wander freely through the Divine Realm."

She paused briefly, allowing her words to sink in. "This is not a restriction meant to bind you, but a protection meant to keep you alive. When your strength is sufficient, when you can truly stand on your own in the Divine Realm without relying on anyone's shadow, then I will no longer stop you."

Max listened in silence, his heart pounding slightly. He was still reeling from the realization that the Black Dragon Palace, a place that already felt incomprehensibly grand, was considered only a third rate force.

The thought alone made his mind race. If this was third rate, then what kind of terrifying existence were second rate and first rate forces, and what lay beyond even them?

For the first time since arriving in the Divine Realm, Max truly grasped how small his current position was, and at the same time, how endless the path ahead of him would be.

'From how Freya warned me about the elves in the Divine Realm, they should be a first rate force here,' Max thought as his fingers slowly clenched into a fist. The thought alone made his chest tighten. If even a third rate force like the Black Dragon Palace possessed such overwhelming might and scale, then a first rate force would be something that stood truly above heaven and earth.

He finally understood how vast the gap was between his current strength and the power required to stand against such existences and rescue his parents. The path ahead of him was long, far longer than he had once imagined, and there would be no shortcuts.

"Alright, let us head into the Black Dragon Palace," Lady Virelia said with a gentle smile as her figure lifted into the air, moving toward the colossal palace ahead.

Max returned her smile. Although he could not naturally fly within the Divine Realm yet, that did not mean he lacked the means to follow. Black flames surged out from his body, dense and heavy, gathering behind his back before shaping themselves into a pair of dark wings.

As the wings spread, a deep pressure rippled outward, and with a single powerful flap, Max was propelled into the air, the black flames leaving faint trails behind him as he shot forward.

In only a few moments, Max had caught up to Lady Virelia, flying alongside her with ease.

"Your bloodline is very unique," Lady Virelia said as she glanced at the black flames surrounding him, her eyes sharp as though they could pierce through flesh and soul alike. "Back in Obsidian Dragon City, I already sensed something unusual within you. At that time, however, you were too weak for me to fully perceive it. Now that you have reached the Divine Rank, the uniqueness of your bloodline has become very clear to me."

Max felt a slight stir in his heart. "How is it different from other bloodlines?" he asked, his curiosity genuine.

"It is like this," Lady Virelia began calmly. "The Black Dragon Chaotic Bloodline is divided into four main types. The first is the normal bloodline, which most disciples of the Black Dragon Palace possess. It grants affinity with black flames, draconic strength, and a natural advantage in cultivation, but it is still considered common within our palace."

She continued without pause. "Above that is the progenitor bloodline. This is a more powerful version of the normal bloodline and is usually bestowed upon extraordinary geniuses of the Black Dragon Palace. Those who possess it have far greater potential and a much higher ceiling than ordinary disciples."

Lady Virelia's tone grew more serious as she spoke further. "Then there are the Source Bloodline and the Imperial Bloodline. The Source Bloodline is often regarded as the strongest among the commonly acknowledged bloodlines of the Black Dragon Palace, but its true strength depends on the purity of the blood essence it carries. For example, someone from a mortal realm who awakens a Source Bloodline would usually possess less than ten percent of true Black Dragon blood essence."

She glanced at Max meaningfully. "In contrast, those born in the Divine Realm with a Source Bloodline often possess more than ninety percent Black Dragon blood essence. This level of purity is rarely achieved through cultivation alone and is almost always inherited through birth. Because of this, the Source Bloodline is typically found only among the direct descendants of the seven main families."

Max absorbed her words carefully before asking the question that had been lingering in his mind. "Then what about the Imperial Bloodline?"

Lady Virelia slowed slightly in the air, her expression turning solemn as she looked at him. "The Imperial Bloodline is different," she said quietly. "It is not merely a stronger bloodline, but a symbol of absolute authority among dragon bloodlines. Those who possess it are acknowledged by the Black Dragon legacy itself. In the entire Black Dragon Palace, only a handful of individuals across countless generations have ever awakened it, and every single one of them became a figure capable of shaking the Divine Realm."

Her gaze lingered on Max for a brief moment longer than necessary, as if she were measuring something deep within him, before she continued flying toward the heart of the Black Dragon Palace.
