Chapter 1368 Essence of Progenitor Bloodline
Chapter 1368 Essence of Progenitor Bloodline
"However," Lady Virelia said as she slowed slightly, her expression turning contemplative. "From you, I do not sense any of these four bloodline types. It is as though your bloodline exists entirely outside this system. It feels like a fifth type, something completely unique, though at this point that is only my speculation."
Max nodded quietly. He remembered clearly how that bloodline had been sealed inside a box for countless years within the Black Lotus Guild back in Acaris, treated as an object of mystery rather than power, until the moment someone tried to steal it and fate placed it in his hands instead. Thinking back on it now, he could not help but feel a strange chill run through him.
"To think a bloodline sealed away in a box for years could be this mysterious," Max thought inwardly, his gaze sharpening with resolve.
Not long after, they arrived at the Black Dragon Palace itself, descending near an ancient building whose walls were carved from dark stone infused with faintly glowing runes. The structure radiated age, authority, and a weight of history that pressed gently against Max's senses.
As he stepped onto the ground, he noticed numerous young men and women moving through the surrounding streets, each of them emanating powerful auras that made his instincts tighten. At a glance, Max felt that defeating any one of them would not be easy, and some of them gave him the faint sense of danger that only truly formidable opponents possessed.
They soon entered the building, which resembled a grand administrative hall rather than a residence. The interior was simple yet dignified, with dark stone floors, subdued lighting, and an atmosphere that encouraged focus rather than extravagance.
"Sit down," Lady Virelia said, gesturing toward a mat placed at the center of the room.
Max followed her instruction and took a seat on the mat, while Lady Virelia sat opposite him in a composed manner.
"First of all," Lady Virelia said with a gentle smile, "you are now an official disciple of the Black Dragon Palace. More importantly, you have become my true disciple."
As she spoke, she tossed a small token toward Max. He caught it instinctively and examined it closely. On one side, the words Thirty Third Hall were inscribed with elegant draconic script, while on the other side, his name, Max Morgan, was etched clearly.
"You are now a disciple of the Thirty Third Hall of the Black Dragon Palace," Lady Virelia explained. "There are thirty six halls in total, and I am one of the two elders overseeing the Thirty Third Hall."
"I see," Max said, nodding as he absorbed the information.
"Before you go to report to the hall," Lady Virelia continued, her tone calm yet firm, "there is one more thing you must receive."
She produced a small bottle filled with slowly swirling black flames and handed it to Max.
"This is?" Max asked as he accepted it, feeling a faint warmth seep into his palm.
"This is the essence of a progenitor level Black Dragon Chaotic Bloodline," Lady Virelia replied. "You should refine this essence and integrate it into your bloodline."
She looked at him steadily as she added, "If I can sense the abnormality in your bloodline, then other elder level figures can as well. Believe me, you do not want to stand out as someone possessing a completely unique bloodline unless you already have the strength to protect yourself. This essence will help mask that uniqueness while also strengthening your foundation."
Max closed his fingers around the bottle, understanding the gravity behind her words. In the Divine Realm, talent without strength was not a blessing, but a curse waiting to be exploited.
"Now refine the essence," Lady Virelia said calmly. "I will help you stabilize the reaction."
Max nodded without hesitation. He uncorked the bottle, and the black flame essence slowly drifted out, hovering between his palms like a living thing. The flame was dense and profound, carrying an ancient draconic will that made the surrounding air grow heavy.
Even before he began, Max could feel his bloodline stirring violently in response, as if it had sensed both danger and opportunity in equal measure.
He brought his hands closer together and guided the black flame inward, allowing it to sink into his body through his palms. The moment it entered his bloodstream, an intense reaction erupted within him.
His blood felt as though it had ignited, not with heat, but with a crushing pressure that surged through every vein. Black flames burst out from his pores in an uncontrolled manner, coiling around his body like wild serpents as his existing bloodline clashed fiercely with the incoming progenitor essence.
Max clenched his teeth and focused, forcibly circulating the essence through his body. He did not try to suppress the reaction. Instead, he allowed his bloodline to devour and refine the essence naturally, layer by layer.
Each circulation strengthened the flame, making it purer and heavier, yet also more stable. Still, the progenitor essence was too powerful, and the clash caused his heartbeat to grow erratic as his aura began to fluctuate dangerously.
At that moment, Lady Virelia moved. She raised her hand and gently pressed her palm toward Max, releasing a stream of refined black dragon energy that enveloped him completely. Her power did not interfere directly with his bloodline. Instead, it acted like a regulating field, smoothing out the violent fluctuations and preventing the essence from overwhelming his body.
Under her guidance, the raging black flames gradually lost their chaotic edge, becoming deeper in color and far more condensed.
Max felt the pressure ease slightly, though the process remained intense. His bloodline began to change subtly, its core growing heavier and more profound, as if an ancient foundation had been reinforced.
The progenitor essence did not replace what he already had. Instead, it fused seamlessly, forming a layered structure that masked the abnormal nature of his original bloodline while simultaneously strengthening it.
Time passed without Max noticing. When the last wisp of the black flame essence was fully absorbed, the violent reaction finally subsided. The flames around his body withdrew and disappeared, leaving behind only a faint draconic aura that felt far more controlled than before. Max exhaled slowly, his breathing steadying as he opened his eyes.
Lady Virelia lowered her hand and nodded in quiet approval. "It is done," she said. "Your bloodline has accepted the progenitor essence, and its outward nature is now properly concealed. At the same time, your foundation has grown stronger."
Max stood up slowly, feeling the difference immediately. His blood felt heavier, calmer, and far more obedient, as if it now carried an ancient discipline within it. He bowed deeply toward Lady Virelia, fully aware that without her intervention, the refinement could have easily spiraled out of control.
"Thank you, Master," Max said sincerely.
Lady Virelia smiled faintly. "Hmm. There are a few things I would like you to do when you report yourself to the 33rd Hall."
