Chapter 1396 Void Origin Eyes
Chapter 1396 Void Origin Eyes
Just then, Clan Head Jeremy arrived beside them and examined Revona's condition. After a brief inspection, he relaxed slightly upon confirming that her injuries were not severe and that she had only been knocked unconscious by the sword strike. He straightened up and turned toward Max, his expression heavy yet composed.
"We lost this battle," he said with a sigh. "Your conditions will be fulfilled. Our two clans will provide you with enough resources to allow you to smoothly reach the peak of the Rebirth Realm. As for learning the inheritance techniques of our clans, that will depend on whether you can win the Tri Clan Tournament, which will be conducted in one year."
"Alright," Max replied quietly as the emptiness in his eyes slowly faded. His emotions returned bit by bit, the sharp edge around him dulling as he stepped out of his emotionless state.
With that, the scene truly came to an end. The tension that had gripped the arena slowly dissipated, and one by one, the disciples who had witnessed the battle began to leave the stands, their expressions filled with awe, disbelief, and lingering shock.
Conversations erupted in hushed tones as they returned to their respective halls, each of them replaying the final clash in their minds, knowing they had just witnessed something that would be spoken of for generations.
Max was no exception. He left the arena quietly and walked alone toward the Thirty Third Hall, his footsteps steady and unhurried. Carl and Lucia had been summoned by Lady Virelia for undisclosed matters, leaving Max to make the journey by himself. The path was calm, yet his mind was anything but.
The battle with Revona lingered heavily in his thoughts, not because of the victory, but because of the unsettling sense that something fundamental about her still remained hidden.
It was then that Tian's voice echoed within his mind.
"Master, you truly lucked out in this battle against Revona," Tian said, his tone carrying an unusual seriousness.
Max raised an eyebrow slightly as he continued walking. "Lucked out?" he asked. "What do you mean by that?"
"Since you do not know, allow me to explain," Tian replied solemnly. "If my judgment is correct, then Revona is the bearer of the Void Origin Eyes of this era."
"Void Origin Eyes?" Max frowned. Throughout the entire battle, he had never once seen her eyes because of the phoenix mask she wore. "Are they really that powerful?"
Tian did not hesitate. "Master, the Void Origin Eyes are among the strongest ocular powers in existence. Only one individual in each era is born with them, and never more than one at the same time. In this era, Revona is their rightful bearer."
Tian continued, his voice filled with reverence. "Throughout history, every bearer of the Void Origin Eyes became one of the strongest figures of their generation, if not the absolute strongest. They were existences that stood at the very peak of humanity, pillars that upheld the human race and pushed it to its highest standing within the Divine Realm."
Max's brows knit together slightly. "She was strong," he admitted, "but not overwhelmingly so, at least not to the extent you are describing."
"That is precisely why I said you were fortunate," Tian replied, a faint smile evident in his voice. "She must have only awakened her Void Origin Eyes after advancing to the Rebirth Realm. Because of that, she has not yet mastered their true power or the terrifying abilities that come with them."
Tian's tone grew heavier as he explained further. "The Void Origin Eyes grant their bearer the authority to nullify attacks that fall below the baseline of their own power. Any force weaker than their fundamental strength can be erased before it truly manifests. They can counter attacks regardless of their nature, whether physical, elemental, spatial, or conceptual. Repulsion and attraction over all forms of existence are merely secondary abilities, side effects of their deeper authority."
He paused briefly before continuing. "One of the core abilities of the Void Origin Eyes is the power to see through the essence of Divine Essence itself. This allows the bearer to manipulate Divine Essence at its most fundamental level, granting them control so absolute that no other being can rival it. With that alone, they become unmatched masters of Divine Essence within the Divine Realm."
Tian's voice lowered slightly, carrying a hint of uncertainty. "There are other primary abilities as well, though even I do not know all of them. However, history has shown that this single power is enough to elevate the bearer of the Void Origin Eyes into the ranks of the most terrifying existences the Divine Realm has ever known."
As Max continued walking toward his hall, his expression slowly turned grave. The image of Revona standing calmly before him resurfaced in his mind, along with the way his strength had been erased so effortlessly.
"I never knew such eyes existed in this world," Max muttered quietly as he walked, a faint smile forming at the corner of his lips as excitement slowly replaced caution in his heart. The Divine Realm felt larger and more profound with every new truth he uncovered, filled with mysteries that challenged even his imagination.
Deep down, he was certain of one thing. His encounter with Revona was far from the last, and the next time they met, the weight of her existence would be far greater than it had been today.
As that thought settled, another question surfaced in Max's mind, one that made his steps slow ever so slightly. "Tian, you said that the bearer of the Void Origin Eyes can only be one in each era," he said, his voice calm but clearly probing for something deeper.
"Yes, Master. That is correct," Tian replied without hesitation. "What about it?"
Max's gaze sharpened as he continued walking, his thoughts aligning into a single point of curiosity. "Then what about the one who bears the legacy of the Forgotten God?" he asked. "What about the one who carries the class of the Dimensional Keeper?"
For the first time in a long while, Tian did not answer immediately. A heavy silence stretched within Max's mind, far longer than any pause Tian had ever taken before. That silence alone carried weight, enough to make Max's heartbeat subtly quicken. When Tian finally spoke again, his tone was no longer casual or explanatory. It was solemn, almost reverent.
"Master," Tian said slowly, "the Dimensional Keeper is not bound by eras in the same way as other existences. Since time immemorial, across countless cycles of creation and destruction, there has only ever been one successor to the Dimensional Keeper. And that successor is you, master."
Max came to a gradual stop, the meaning of those words sinking deep into his consciousness.
