Chapter 1736: Surrounded!

Chapter 1736: Surrounded!

Nancy’s eyes narrowed.

“So many…” she muttered.

Max, however, only smiled faintly.

His gaze passed calmly over the thousands of demons surrounding him, and there was not the slightest trace of panic in his expression. Instead, he looked almost amused, as if the scene before him had confirmed exactly what he had expected from the beginning.

At the front of the demon army, two figures slowly walked forward.

The first was Karo.

He looked completely different from the confident demon who had entered Arena Seven with a smile, because although he had revived after death, the humiliation of being killed by Max had not disappeared.

Beside Karo stood another demon.

This demon was taller and broader, with dark red skin, sharp black horns, and a face that bore a faint resemblance to Karo’s, though his features were rougher, colder, and far more brutal. His crimson eyes carried none of Karo’s earlier playful arrogance.

Instead, there was only a deep and savage killing intent, the kind that belonged to someone who did not enjoy long conversations before slaughter. A huge black blade rested against his shoulder, and every step he took caused the ground beneath him to crack slightly.

Max looked at him once and immediately understood.

This was Munro.

The demon he had come to kill.

Karo stopped a short distance away and stared at Max with a twisted smile. “You really came out.”

Max looked at him calmly. “Of course I did.”

Karo’s eyes twitched slightly when he heard that casual reply.

Munro’s gaze moved from Max to Nancy, then back to Max, and his expression became colder. “So this is the human who killed you once?”

Karo’s face darkened.

The thousands of demons around them heard Munro’s words, and although none of them dared to laugh openly, the air still seemed to shift strangely. Karo felt it clearly, and the humiliation in his heart burned even hotter.

“He used the arena rules and caught me off guard,” Karo said coldly.

Max raised an eyebrow.

Nancy glanced at Karo with a strange expression, because she had personally seen Max crush Karo’s Pseudo Cosmic Path in front of everyone, and hearing Karo speak as if his defeat had been caused by carelessness almost made her wonder whether demons truly believed their own lies.

Max smiled faintly. “Caught you off guard?”

Karo’s killing intent surged.

Max continued calmly, “I destroyed your Abyssal Grave of the Fallen, crushed your attack, killed you with one punch, and took your six million Killing Points. If that is called catching you off guard, then I suppose I can do it again.”

The demons around them instantly became restless.

Munro’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Karo’s face turned almost savage.

“You will not get that chance again,” Karo said through gritted teeth. “This is not the arena. There is no barrier. There is no trial rule. There is no one-on-one battle. Outside Starfall Haven, numbers are also strength.”

As soon as he spoke, the thousands of demons around Max and Nancy released their aura at the same time.

Boom!

The combined pressure was terrifying.

Demonic energy rose into the sky like a black storm, covering the area outside the city gates and causing the distant golden sands to shake violently. The sheer number of demons made the scene overwhelming. Even a strong genius would feel suffocated if surrounded by so many enemies, especially with Karo and Munro standing at the front.

Nancy slowly placed one hand on the hilt of her sword.

Her expression was calm, but her eyes were serious.

“Max,” she said quietly, “there are too many of them.”

Max did not look at her.

He only stared at Karo and Munro.

“There are a lot,” Max admitted.

Karo sneered.

Munro gripped the huge blade on his shoulder.

Then Max smiled.

“But not enough.”

The moment those words fell, the air around him changed.

A faint draconic pressure began to stir beneath his skin, and although he had not yet transformed, the ground beneath his feet started cracking silently. The demons closest to him instinctively took half a step back, their bodies reacting before their minds could process why. Even Munro’s eyes sharpened, while Karo’s expression twisted with both hatred and caution.

Max slowly rolled his neck and looked around at the thousands of demons.

“You gathered all these demons here for me,” he said softly. “Good.”

His smile became colder.

“That saves me a lot of time.”

Karo stared at him, his eyes burning with fury. “You still dare to act arrogant?”

Max’s gaze returned to him.

“I told you inside the Combat Hall,” he said calmly. “If I saw you again, I would kill you again.”

Then he looked at Munro.

“And since Munro is here too, I can finish both of you before heading to Witch God Valley.”

Munro’s expression turned murderous.

The thousands of demons tightened their formation.

Behind them, Starfall Haven remained silent and untouchable, its peaceful light glowing beyond the city gates, while outside its protection, killing intent flooded the land like a rising tide.

Max stood at the center of the encirclement with Nancy beside him, surrounded by thousands of demons, facing Karo and Munro at the front.

Yet his expression remained calm.

No.

It was not merely calm.

It was expectant.

As if the real hunt had finally begun.

“Do you really think you can stop me with these?” Max asked Karo and Munro, his calm gaze sweeping over the thousands of demons surrounding him before returning to the two figures standing at the front.

“You are arrogant,” Munro said in a deep voice. “But arrogance becomes stupidity when it has no place to stand.”

Max glanced at him and raised an eyebrow. “And you are Munro?”

Munro’s eyes narrowed. “You know my name.”

“I came out to kill you,” Max replied calmly. “It would be strange if I did not know the name of the person I am about to erase.”

The surrounding demons immediately erupted with furious growls.

“Arrogant human!”

“Kill him!”

“Tear him apart!”

“Let him understand what happens when he offends our demon race!”

Nancy stood beside Max with one hand on the hilt of her sword, her silver hair fluttering slightly in the heavy demonic wind. Her expression remained composed, but her eyes moved across the countless demons surrounding them, measuring their numbers and positions.

Even though she had seen Max’s strength, the scale of this encirclement was still terrifying. Thousands of demons had gathered here, and many of them were not weak.
