Chapter 1837: Abyssal Origin Descent!
Chapter 1837: Abyssal Origin Descent!
Several participants became serious.
"She is using the Queen Avatar already."
"Against Max, she used this before going into her Pseudo Cosmic Path."
"This Ervin is forcing her faster than expected."
Selene lifted her hand.
The avatar behind her lifted its spear.
"Queen’s Divine Spear."
A spear of Heavenly Luminance shot toward Ervin.
This attack was different from the previous ones. It carried a noble, commanding force that tried to pierce through defense, energy, and will at the same time. Ervin’s eyes finally sharpened.
He held his black spear with both hands.
Darkness gathered around him.
Then he thrust forward.
The two spears collided.
The impact shook the arena barrier.
Ervin’s body trembled slightly, and the ground beneath his feet cracked. Selene’s light pressed forward fiercely, trying to overwhelm him with the purity of the Queen Avatar. The black spear in Ervin’s hand bent slightly under the pressure, but Ervin’s gaze remained calm.
A faint abyssal aura rose behind him.
It was not large.
It was not showy.
But the moment it appeared, Max’s Dimensional Sovereign Body sensed something strange.
Depth.
An almost impossible depth.
It felt as if there was something behind Ervin that did not belong to the surface of the world. Something deep beneath law, beneath space, beneath ordinary darkness. The abyssal aura did not roar or explode. It simply existed, and because it existed, the light of the Queen’s Divine Spear began to sink.
Selene’s expression changed.
Ervin took one step forward.
His spear pushed back the Queen’s Divine Spear.
Then he twisted his wrist, and the dark spear force spiraled into Selene’s attack, tearing open a narrow path through the luminance. He stepped through that path and appeared closer to Selene than before.
Selene immediately retreated.
At the same time, the Queen Avatar behind her raised its other hand.
"Twelve Luminance Edicts."
Twelve golden runes appeared around Ervin.
One sealed movement.
One suppressed energy.
One restrained weapon force.
One attacked spiritual will.
One weakened darkness.
One strengthened heavenly light.
The remaining six reinforced the first six, forming a complete suppression array around him.
For the first time, Ervin stopped.
The twelve edicts descended.
Selene did not wait. She joined both hands together, and the Queen Avatar behind her pointed its spear at Ervin once more. The pressure rising from her body made the entire stage glow with radiant lines.
Max watched without blinking.
’This is stronger than what she used earlier,’ he thought. ’She is not holding back.’
Ervin lowered his gaze slightly.
The twelve edicts pressed closer.
His black spear trembled.
Then he smiled.
"Not bad."
Selene’s expression became colder. "You still have time to surrender."
Ervin raised his head.
His eyes had changed.
They looked darker than before, not because of anger, but because something behind them had opened. The abyssal aura around him deepened rapidly, and the twelve luminance edicts surrounding him began to shake.
"I have not even truly started yet," he said.
The stage grew silent.
The darkness behind Ervin suddenly expanded.
It did not rush outward like a normal domain. It descended.
The air sank.
The light sank.
The sound sank.
Even the golden-white glow of Selene’s edicts seemed to become heavier, as if the entire battlefield had been placed above a bottomless sea and was slowly being pulled downward.
Ervin’s voice was calm.
"Pseudo Cosmic Path, Abyssal Origin Descent."
The moment those words appeared in the arena, almost every top genius reacted.
Damian Voss narrowed his eyes sharply.
Rakan Thorne stopped smiling.
Orion Starfall’s expression became truly serious for the first time.
Kaiden Voidmere’s silver-gray eyes flickered with a strange light.
Revona opened her Void Origin Eyes halfway.
Aurelian Lareth’s calm expression changed slightly.
Even Max’s gaze sharpened.
The Pseudo Cosmic Path behind Ervin was not an ordinary abyss path.
A vast black sea appeared behind him, but it was not made of water. It was made of depth, gravity, darkness, and some mysterious ancient origin that seemed to swallow the meaning of distance itself. Above that black sea stood a single broken gate, half-submerged, half-visible, covered in ancient symbols no one could clearly read. Behind the gate, there seemed to be something even deeper, but the arena laws prevented the vision from fully opening.
The twelve luminance edicts around Ervin sank at the same time.
Their light dimmed.
Their authority weakened.
It was not that they had been destroyed.
They had been dragged downward, buried beneath the pressure of the abyssal origin.
Selene’s face changed.
"Heavenly Luminance Genesis."
She did not hesitate anymore.
Her own Pseudo Cosmic Path erupted.
Golden-white light exploded from her body, and a pure world of first light appeared behind her. It was a world at the moment of creation, where dawn had just been born and all darkness was meant to be driven away. The Queen Avatar vanished, replaced by a higher and more ancient radiance. Her aura rose sharply, and the sinking feeling caused by Ervin’s Abyssal Origin Descent slowed for a moment.
"Pseudo Cosmic Path, Heavenly Luminance Genesis."
The stage became divided in two.
One side was an abyssal black sea with a broken ancient gate sinking into unknown depth.
The other was a world of first light, radiant and pure, as if heaven itself had opened at the beginning of creation.
The clash between them made the entire Eternal Hourglass arena tremble.
Selene raised her hand, her face pale but determined.
"Heavenly Luminance Genesis, Spear of First Dawn."
A spear of pure creation light condensed above her.
Max recognized it immediately.
This was the same kind of attack she had used before near the Witch God Tree, the attack that had forced him to take it with his dragon scales because Morgana’s roots had interfered. But now, Selene had poured even more hatred and pressure into it, and the spear seemed even more concentrated than before.
Ervin looked up at the spear.
For the first time, his smile disappeared.
He held his black spear tightly.
The broken gate behind him opened slightly.
A soundless pressure spread from inside the gate.
Max’s eyes narrowed.
’What is behind that gate?’
He could not see clearly.
Even his Dimensional Sovereign Body could only sense depth, danger, and something old enough to make ordinary perception feel useless. The Abyssal Origin Descent was not merely a path of darkness. It seemed connected to some origin beneath the world, a place where light, law, and matter all had to sink eventually.
