Chapter 1847: Draconic Essences shock the world!
On the stage, Rakan’s fist hurtled toward Max’s head. Max ducked beneath it and drove a punch toward Rakan’s ribs, and Rakan took the blow directly.
Boom!
The force slammed into his body, but this time Rakan slid back only half a step. The Third Limit allowed his flesh to absorb and disperse the impact, while the Second Limit kept his frame perfectly stable.
Rakan grinned. "Your punch is still strong, but it is no longer enough."
Max regarded him calmly.
Rakan stepped forward again with his battle intent blazing even higher. "So, Max Morgan, will you open the second vein?"
Max did not answer right away. The Vein of Origin continued to rumble within him, steady and profound, but the pressure of Rakan’s Third Limit was now unmistakably pressing against its edge. Max looked at Rakan’s bronze war body and smiled faintly.
"You really are worthy of testing my body."
Rakan’s grin turned wild once more. "Then stop holding back."
The two of them rushed forward again. Their fists collided at the center of the stage, and the shockwave surged upward like a pillar of invisible force, rattling the barrier and making the entire Eternal Hourglass arena tremble. The battle had climbed to a new level.
For several breaths, Max and Rakan remained locked together at the center of the stage, fist against fist, body against body, and strength against strength. The whole arena shuddered beneath them.
The cracks running through the dark gold stage tore wider, and the ancient runes embedded in the arena floor glowed brighter, as though the Eternal Hourglass itself had been forced to reinforce the battlefield just to withstand their clash.
Rakan’s Third Limit burned at full power. War Blood Awakening roared through his veins, War Bone Reforging held his frame as steady as divine metal, and War Flesh Unbound released terrifying explosive power from every inch of his body.
In that moment, Rakan no longer resembled an ordinary young genius. He looked like a living weapon that the War God Palace had forged for the single purpose of crushing enemies with his bare hands.
Yet Max still stood before him. The Vein of Origin rumbled steadily inside his body, deep and ancient, strengthening his physical foundation at its very root. Even though Rakan’s Third Limit had dragged the battle back into balance and had even begun to suppress him in raw explosive force, Max’s eyes remained perfectly calm.
Rakan grinned fiercely. "Open the second vein."
Max looked at him, and the entire arena went quiet.
Countless spectators across the Divine Realm leaned forward without realizing they had moved. The disciples of the Black Dragon Clan sat rigid with tension, while the disciples of the War God Palace watched with burning eyes.
The top geniuses inside the Eternal Hourglass fixed their full attention on Max as well, because all of them understood what the second vein might mean. If the first vein alone had allowed Max to dominate Rakan’s First Limit, then the second vein would almost certainly lift his body to a far more terrifying height.
But Max only smiled faintly.
"I will not need the second vein against you."
The words fell like thunder, and for a moment even Rakan’s grin froze in place.
The War God Palace disciples erupted in fury.
"What did he just say?"
"He does not need the second vein against Rakan?"
"Arrogant!"
"That is the Third Limit of the War God Body!"
"Rakan, crush him!"
At the Black Dragon Clan, many disciples were stunned at first, and then their blood began to heat. They could not tell whether Max was being recklessly arrogant or whether he genuinely held another method in reserve, but they had already watched him produce miracles time and time again.
Lady Virelia’s eyes narrowed slightly, and the seven family heads stared at the screen without blinking.
Inside the Eternal Hourglass, Rakan slowly withdrew his fist and took a single step back. His bronze war body still radiated terrifying pressure, but his expression had grown deeper and far more serious.
"You will not need the second vein?" Rakan asked.
Max nodded calmly. "That is right."
Rakan stared at him for a moment and then laughed, and this time his laughter carried anger, excitement, and disbelief all at once.
"Good. Very good. Then show me what gives you the confidence to say that."
Max did not answer with words. Instead, something inside his body awakened. It was not another vein, nor a Pseudo Cosmic Path, nor Dragonheart, nor the Emotion Severing Path. Deep within his body, two thousand Draconic Essences stirred at the same instant.
The change was immediate. A low dragon’s roar seemed to echo from within Max’s flesh and bones. It did not leave his mouth, and it did not come from the outside world. It rose from inside his body itself, from the countless essences of dragon power that had been refined, accumulated, and stored within him over time.
The moment those two thousand Draconic Essences began to circulate, the Vein of Origin responded as though it had finally found the perfect foundation to strengthen.
The rumbling inside Max’s body grew heavier. His blood flowed like a hidden river of dragons, and his bones released a faint resonance of gold and black. His muscles tightened, though never in any exaggerated way. Instead, his entire body grew more compact, more refined, and more terrifyingly dense.
The profound glow of the Vein of Origin deepened, and within that glow, traces of dragon force flickered like ancient scales concealed just beneath the surface of his skin.
The aura around Max rose once, then twice, and then rose yet again.
The central stage began to sink beneath his feet. The air around his body compressed until faint ripples spread visibly outward. His white hair lifted slightly, and his eyes grew brighter, colder, and far more oppressive than before. He still had not transformed.
No dragon scales covered his skin, and no enormous dragon shadow loomed behind him. Yet everyone present could feel that his physical strength had entered an entirely new tier.
The participants on the pillars reacted at once.
Damian Voss’s eyes sharpened. "His body just rose again."
Orion Starfall’s smile disappeared completely. "That feels like dragon aura."
Kaiden Voidmere’s gaze grew immeasurably deep. "This must be the black dragon bloodline of the Black Dragon Clan."
Ervin watched in silence, though his expression grew more focused than before. "The Vein of Origin strengthens the root, and the dragon bloodline supplies overwhelming physical force. That combination is dangerous."
Aurelian Lareth’s face turned dark, while Selene Vaeloria stared at Max with clenched fists, her pride battered again and again by every new layer he revealed.
