Chapter 1904: A Way
Chapter 1904: A Way
Revona’s gaze remained fixed on Max’s hand. Dragonheart had not left its sheath yet, but the faint hum coming from the sword made the stillness around the arena far more oppressive than an immediate clash would have been.
The spectators had expected flames of battle, thunderous sword light, collapsing void, and world-shaking techniques. Instead, Max and Revona stood across from each other like two people facing an invisible board where the first wrong move would decide everything.
Revona finally spoke again. "Did you find a way to bypass my ability?"
Her voice was quiet, yet because the whole arena had fallen silent, those words spread clearly through the Eternal Hourglass.
Max looked at her. Revona’s pale eyes were deeper than before, their emptiness no longer resembling a mere ability but a law that denied the meaning of whatever entered its sight.
She was not impatient, and she was not arrogant. She was asking because she could feel that Max’s thinking had changed, and because she knew he would not remain still unless he had understood something important.
Max smiled. "Yes."
The answer was simple, but the moment he said it, the atmosphere changed.
Revona’s eyes narrowed slightly, and across the Divine Realm, countless spectators felt their hearts tighten. He had found a way.
Max Morgan had stood still, studied the fully awakened Void Origin Eyes, admitted that his previous method would no longer work, and now calmly claimed that he had found a way to bypass them.
No one knew whether those words were confidence or madness.
Then Max’s aura began to rise. At first it was only a faint vibration beneath his skin, so quiet that ordinary spectators barely noticed it.
Then the ground beneath his feet trembled, and the air around his body began distorting as if a hidden furnace had awakened inside him. His white hair lifted slightly, and deep within his body, four ancient gates seemed to open one after another.
The first vein awakened.
"Seven Divine Veins."
Max’s voice was calm.
"Vein of Opening."
Boom!
A terrifying foundational force burst out from his body. It did not look like ordinary energy, and it did not feel like simple bloodline pressure.
It was deeper, older, and heavier, as though some sealed origin inside Max had opened its first door and let a forgotten power flow through his limbs. His aura became clearer and more stable, and the entire stage shook beneath that first wave of pressure.
The second vein followed immediately.
"Vein of Vitality."
A vast life force erupted inside him. The energy around Max grew denser, thicker, and more oppressive. It was not the gentle vitality that healed wounds quietly.
It was a ferocious vitality, the kind that made the body feel indestructible and made every bone, vein, muscle, and drop of blood seem capable of enduring impossible pressure. The spectators could almost hear his body roaring.
The third vein opened.
"Vein of Speed."
The air around Max blurred. For a brief instant, his figure seemed to exist in several positions at once. It was not an illusion, and it was not space folding. His body’s movement potential had simply risen beyond what ordinary perception could hold.
The light around him stretched, and the dust near his feet rose and froze in strange curved lines, as though time itself had been forced to acknowledge the sudden increase in his speed.
The fourth vein opened.
"Vein of Strength."
Boom!
This time the entire arena trembled violently. A crushing physical pressure swept outward from Max like a divine mountain waking from ancient sleep. The barrier around the stage lit up, and the golden laws of the Eternal Hourglass flowed through it to contain the force.
Max had not thrown a punch, and he had not drawn his sword. He had merely opened four of the Seven Divine Veins, yet the pressure released from his body already made many participants feel their breathing grow heavy.
Rakan Thorne stood up from his pillar, his eyes widening with battle-crazed shock. Is that the full power of that technique?"
Orion Starfall’s smile vanished for once, replaced by pure astonishment. "He did not use this against me."
Kaiden Voidmere stared at Max with a solemn expression. "Nor against me. But I think this is the true power of the Seven Divine Veins."
Morgana Starveil’s purple eyes flickered. "So he still had this much hidden?"
Damian Voss’s gaze sharpened like a drawn blade. Ervin’s eyes deepened, and for the first time the faint shadow behind him stirred slightly without being summoned.
Even Revona’s expression changed. Only slightly, but it changed.
Max stood in the middle of that terrifying storm with his body surrounded by four layers of divine-vein power. Opening, Vitality, Speed, and Strength did not act separately. They fused together inside him, each one reinforcing the others and each one making the next more overwhelming.
His foundation opened, his life force surged, his speed sharpened, and his strength became monstrous. The energy around him was no longer merely powerful. It was devastating, wild, and almost unbearable to watch directly.
The Divine Realm erupted.
"He still had this hidden!"
"What kind of cultivation art is that?"
"Is this the first time Max Morgan is going all out?"
"He did not use this against Rakan!"
"He did not use this against Orion either!"
Across countless viewing halls, elders rose from their seats. Some were shocked by the pressure, some were horrified by the foundation, and some stared at Max as if they were watching a monster whose true shape had finally begun to appear.
At the Black Dragon Clan, the disciples were almost mad with excitement. Many of them had already believed that Max had revealed most of his strength after defeating so many top geniuses, but now they realized how wrong they had been.
Even when he defeated Rakan in a pure body battle, he had not used all of this. Even when he fought Orion’s Nine Star Sovereign Body, he had not released this level of divine-vein power.
Lady Virelia’s eyes shone brightly. "So this is what you were still keeping hidden."
On the stage, Revona looked at the storm of power surrounding Max and spoke quietly. "You plan to bypass my eyes with raw speed and strength?"
Max smiled faintly. "No."
The answer made her gaze sharpen again. Max’s fingers still rested on Dragonheart’s hilt, but he did not draw it yet. "This is only to make sure I can stand at the right place when I need to."
The meaning behind those words made the top geniuses narrow their eyes. He was not claiming the four divine veins were his answer. He was saying they were only preparation.
Revona understood that as well, and the emptiness in her eyes deepened. "Then show me the rest."
Max looked at her for a breath. Then the sky above the arena darkened, and a rumble echoed. At first it sounded distant, like thunder rolling from beyond the world. Then seven colors began flickering in the air above Max.
Red, orange, gold, green, azure, indigo, and violet lightning appeared one after another, and each strand carried a different kind of destructive pressure. When they began twisting together, the entire Eternal Hourglass seemed to tremble.
The expressions of countless spectators changed. They had seen traces of Max’s seven-colored lightning before. They had seen him use it to erase attacks, to crush enemies, and to display an authority that felt like judgment. But this was different. This was not a faint spark, and it was not a casual release. This was the descent of the true path behind that lightning.
Max slowly raised his head.
"Pseudo Cosmic Path."
