Chapter 1970: Voidwalker Bloodline!

Chapter 1970: Voidwalker Bloodline!

The Voidwalker Ancestor, though, took one step forward. The abandoned fifth end brightened beneath him.

"You talk about sealing him like he’s some criminal," he said. "What crime has he actually committed?"

The Ashbourne ancestor growled, "He carries the traitor’s blood."

"So do your descendants," the Voidwalker Ancestor said. "They carry the blood of your clans. Does that mean they personally answer for every sin you committed?"

The words landed like a blade. Several elders’ expressions changed.

The Valerius ancestor’s voice turned colder. "Don’t compare our clans to yours."

"I’ll compare them however I please," the Voidwalker Ancestor said. "You’re judging a young man who hasn’t even heard the truth of our history. You call him a traitor because his blood woke up a seat you failed to destroy. You call his legacy stolen because you couldn’t take it back yourselves. You’re trying to seal him because you’re afraid of what he might learn."

The Evercrest ancestor’s killing intent surged. "Careful, Voidwalker."

The Voidwalker Ancestor finally smiled faintly. It wasn’t a warm smile. It was tired and cold.

"Don’t speak to me like you still hold the chains around my neck."

The entire arena trembled. The four ancestors froze. For the first time, their expressions showed genuine shock.

The Valerius ancestor’s voice dropped. "You agreed to the seal."

"Yes," the Voidwalker Ancestor said. "I agreed."

His gaze moved across the four ancestors one by one.

"I agreed last time for the sake of the five clans." The words carried across the arena like thunder hidden beneath calm speech. "Not because I believed your judgment was right. Not because I admitted guilt. Not because the Voidwalker Clan deserved to be erased. I agreed because if the five clans had fought to the end back then, the First Progenitor’s inheritance would have shattered, and every sacred bloodline descended from him would have suffered damage that could never be undone."

The younger descendants stared in shock. This wasn’t the version of history they’d been told.

The Ashbourne ancestor’s face darkened. "You dare bring up old matters in front of juniors?"

"They deserve to know why you’re trying to chain a young man in front of them," the Voidwalker Ancestor said.

The Ravenhart ancestor’s voice turned dangerous. "Some truths are sealed for a reason."

"And some lies are sealed because the people who told them are afraid of being questioned."

The statue of the First Progenitor glowed brighter after those words. The light from its closed eyes deepened, and a pulse passed through the arena.

Max noticed. So did the four ancestors.

The Evercrest ancestor’s expression turned uglier.

The Voidwalker Ancestor continued, "I let myself be sealed because the five clans were already on the edge of collapse. I let the Voidwalker end be abandoned because I thought time might cool your fear and anger. I let your version of history stand because I thought protecting the sacred inheritance mattered more than proving who was right."

His eyes turned colder. "But I won’t make that mistake again."

The arena went silent. The words came out calm. Yet they felt like a declaration of war.

The Valerius ancestor’s sacred light rose higher. "You’d break the old pact?"

"The old pact was between five clans," the Voidwalker Ancestor said. "You four turned it into a prison."

The Ashbourne ancestor clenched his fist, and crimson-black blood iron light spread out behind him like a battlefield of ancient corpses. "If you protect him, you’re standing against the Four Sacred Clans."

The Voidwalker Ancestor looked at him without fear. "I’ve stood against worse."

The Ravenhart ancestor whispered, "You’re only a remnant."

The Voidwalker Ancestor nodded. "Yes. I’m only a remnant."

Then his gaze moved to Max. "But he isn’t."

The whole arena turned toward the black dragon. Max’s enormous eyes met the old man’s gaze. There wasn’t full understanding between them yet.

Max still didn’t know the truth about the Voidwalker Clan, the so-called stolen legacy, the old betrayal, or why his blood had awakened the abandoned end. But when the Voidwalker Ancestor looked at him, there was no hatred in it, no suspicion, and no urge to use him as a tool.

There was only protection. Fierce, absolute protection. The kind Max had rarely ever gotten from ancient powers.

The Voidwalker Ancestor turned back to the four ancestors.

"You sealed me. You sealed the others. You buried our end, erased our name, and taught your descendants to spit on a bloodline whose truth they never even knew. I stayed silent once because I thought it would keep the five clans together."

His voice deepened. "This time, I won’t."

The abandoned end erupted with starry light. The dark star symbol above it expanded, and broken dimensional rings rotated around the whole arena. Space folded, not the way Evercrest’s life-space seals did, but in a deeper, more absolute way.

For a moment, everyone present felt like the arena had been pulled out of normal space and placed inside a vast hidden dimension under the Voidwalker Ancestor’s control.

The four ancestors released their auras at once. White-gold fire. Crimson-black blood iron. Shadow-purple fate feathers. Green-silver worldwood space. Four ancient powers pressed toward the abandoned end.

The Voidwalker Ancestor raised one hand. A starry barrier appeared between Max and the four ancestors. Their pressure struck the barrier and spread across it like waves crashing into an endless night sky. The barrier trembled. But it held.

The Valerius ancestor shouted, "Voidwalker, step aside. The boy has to be sealed before the stolen legacy fully wakes up."

The Voidwalker Ancestor’s expression turned cold. "No." The word was simple. Final.

The Evercrest ancestor’s eyes narrowed. "You’d risk everything for one descendant you just met?"

The Voidwalker Ancestor looked back at Max. "He’s not just one descendant," he said. "He’s proof the Voidwalker bloodline survived despite everything you did to stop it."

Max’s heart stirred faintly.

Rose stood below, still surrounded by Evercrest elders, her face full of shock and confusion. She’d brought Max here for her own shot at bloodline inheritance, never expecting to uncover an ancient conflict between the Four Sacred Clans and a hidden fifth sacred clan. But watching the Voidwalker Ancestor stand in front of Max, she understood one thing clearly.

This wasn’t just her battle anymore. This was history coming back.
