Chapter 1971: Arrival of the Others!
The Ashbourne ancestor roared, "Then you leave us no choice."
The four ancestors moved.
At the same time, the Voidwalker Ancestor stepped forward. The starry barrier around Max expanded, and the broken dimensional rings above the abandoned end spun faster. The statue of the First Progenitor glowed even brighter, as if watching a scene that had happened once before, long ago, now repeating in front of its closed eyes.
Max’s dragon claws dug into the ground. His voice rumbled behind the barrier.
"Ancestor."
The old man didn’t turn back. But he answered.
"Stay behind me for now."
Max’s dragon eyes narrowed.
The Voidwalker Ancestor’s voice softened just slightly. "You’ve done enough. You woke up the fifth end. You forced the buried truth to the surface. Now let this old man do what he failed to do properly last time."
The four ancestral powers descended. The Voidwalker Ancestor raised both hands. A sea of stars opened up behind him. And the abandoned fifth end, forgotten for countless years, finally returned to the Bloodline Legacy Battle.
The sea of stars behind the Voidwalker Ancestor had just started to open when the sky above the Bloodline Legacy Battle arena changed again.
This time, the change didn’t come from the abandoned fifth end. It came from outside.
A tremendous spatial pressure came down from above the arena, and the protective boundary around the Bloodline Legacy Battle shook, as if countless hands had grabbed it from every direction at once.
The four ancestors, who’d been ready to clash with the Voidwalker Ancestor, lifted their heads almost at the same moment. The clan heads and elders looked upward too, their expressions shifting sharply as they sensed thousands of auras appearing beyond the sacred arena’s outer sky.
Max also lifted his massive dragon head. He didn’t need to look carefully to know who stood at the front. His blood recognized her before his eyes did.
High above the arena, a crack opened across the sky like a blade slicing through silk. Figures emerged from that crack one after another. Not dozens. Not hundreds. Thousands.
They appeared in perfect formation, surrounding the entire Bloodline Legacy Battle arena from the sky, each one carrying a cold, disciplined aura.
Their robes were dark, marked with silver dimensional lines, and many of them held weapons glowing faintly with the same star-like light that had woken from the abandoned fifth end.
At the front stood a woman with long silver-white hair flowing behind her like a river of moonlight.
Freya.
Max’s dragon eyes went wide. For a moment, even the storm of battle inside him went still.
He’d known she was alive, known she existed somewhere outside the ordinary reach of his current life. But knowing and seeing were two different things. Now she stood above the Bloodline Legacy Battle arena, alive, powerful, carrying an aura that felt deeply familiar.
His big sister.
Max’s heart shook in a way no battle had ever managed to shake it.
"Freya," he murmured, though it came out as a deep dragon rumble.
A strange kind of happiness rose in him, sharp enough to cut through all the danger surrounding him.
The Four Sacred Clans were trying to seal him. Their ancestors had shown up. The Voidwalker Ancestor stood in front of him. The truth about his bloodline was turning the whole arena upside down. Yet for that one breath, Max only looked at Freya.
She was here. His big sister was here.
Freya’s gaze found him immediately. She saw the enormous black dragon standing in the ruined central battlefield, saw the broken seals around him, saw the bloodline pressure surrounding him, and saw the glow of the abandoned Voidwalker end beneath the ancestor. Her expression barely changed, but her eyes softened for the smallest instant.
Then her gaze turned cold. Very cold.
She looked toward the four ancestors of Valerius, Ashbourne, Ravenhart, and Evercrest.
"Stop."
Her voice wasn’t loud, but it carried across the whole arena with terrifying clarity.
The four ancestors looked at her, eyes narrowed.
The Valerius ancestor’s sacred light burned brighter. "Who are you to give orders to the Four Sacred Clans?"
Freya didn’t answer right away. She raised one hand.
At that instant, the thousands of figures who’d arrived with her moved. They spread across the sky and completely surrounded the Bloodline Legacy Battle arena. Space rippled around them as formation flags, star-like seals, and dimensional weapons activated one after another.
A ring of Voidwalker power formed above the arena, and for the first time since the conflict began, the descendants of the Four Sacred Clans felt danger coming not from inside the battlefield, but from above their own heads.
Freya’s voice stayed calm.
"If you keep this fight going, we’ll attack the descendants of the Four Sacred Clans."
The entire arena froze. For a breath, nobody believed what they’d just heard.
Then the sacred clan platforms erupted.
"What did she just say?"
"She dares threaten us?"
"She wants to attack sacred clan descendants?"
"Who are these people?"
"Are they out of their minds?"
The younger descendants of Valerius, Ashbourne, Ravenhart, and Evercrest looked up in shock and anger. The elders’ faces darkened instantly. The clan heads, already shaken by Max injuring the Evercrest patriarch, grew furious.
The Four Sacred Clans had stood at the top of humanity for countless ages. Even supreme forces treated them with caution. Yet now a woman had shown up with thousands of people and openly threatened their descendants right inside the First Progenitor Arena.
The Ashbourne ancestor’s battle aura exploded. "How bold."
The crimson-black sky behind him shook, as if an ancient battlefield had come back to life. "You dare threaten the bloodlines of the Four Sacred Clans?"
Freya looked at him without fear. "Yes."
The answer came so direct that the air around them turned even colder.
The Evercrest ancestor’s spatial roots twisted violently. "You think surrounding the arena gives you leverage?"
Freya’s eyes stayed calm. "It does actually."
The Ravenhart ancestor’s shadow spread across the air. "If you attack them, none of you will leave here alive."
Freya replied, "If Max gets sealed, none of them will live long enough to care whether we leave or not."
