Chapter 1995: Pearl of Abyss!

Chapter 1995: Pearl of Abyss!

Revona asked again, "Then what do the devils want in exchange for delaying the war?"

Arvantos’s expression became ugly.

"They want permission to establish a force in the Divine Realm."

The hall instantly became colder.

Arvantos continued, "They also want independent freedom to move throughout the Divine Realm, interact with other forces, and conduct their own affairs, provided they do not openly slaughter our people or destroy our territories."

The ten geniuses frowned almost at the same time.

That condition was far too much.

Letting devils enter the Divine Realm was already dangerous. Allowing them to create their own force and move freely among the sects, clans, empires, and hidden organizations of the Divine Realm was even worse. The devils might not need to slaughter anyone openly. They could tempt ambitious cultivators, corrupt weaker factions, manipulate internal disputes, buy information, plant spies, and slowly create chaos from within.

Max spoke in a solemn voice. "They could corrupt our human forces in no time."

"That is our concern as well," Arvantos said with a sigh. "Many Divine Realm forces look noble on the surface, but greed exists everywhere. There will always be clans hungry for power, sects desperate for forbidden techniques, rulers who want to break through, and traitors willing to sell their own universe for personal gain. The devils understand this. That is why their demand is dangerous."

Morgana sneered. "Then refusing sounds obvious."

"It would be obvious if Varok were only an ordinary envoy," Arvantos said.

Max’s gaze sharpened. "Why not imprison or seal Varok somewhere?"

Everyone looked toward him.

Max remained calm as he continued, "That way, Devil Emperor Abaddon would not know his son is dead, and we would still have around five hundred years to prepare for war. If Varok is the main reason we cannot act, then keeping him alive but sealed should solve the immediate problem."

For a moment, no one spoke.

It was a ruthless suggestion, but no one could deny that it was practical.

Arvantos looked at Max for a few seconds before shaking his head.

"It is not that simple."

Max narrowed his eyes. "Because of Abaddon?"

"Partly," Arvantos said. "But more importantly, because of what Varok carries."

He raised his hand again, and the star map changed. A dark pearl appeared above the image of the devils. It looked small, but the moment its image formed, the space around it seemed to sink inward, as though even the projection of the treasure carried an aura of endless abyss.

"Varok possesses one of the five Primal Treasures," Arvantos said. "It is called the Pearl of Abyss."

The name caused a strange pressure to settle over the hall.

Arvantos’s voice became solemn. "The Pearl of Abyss is not a normal treasure. It contains a power that even we do not fully understand. It can distort space, hide fate traces, open abyssal passages, protect its bearer, and release destructive power far beyond Varok’s own cultivation. If forced into a desperate situation, Varok may activate it."

Damian frowned. "What would happen then?"

"That is exactly the problem," Arvantos replied. "We do not know."

The answer made everyone’s expression darken.

Arvantos continued, "A Primal Treasure is too unpredictable. Each one possesses abilities that surpass ordinary laws. If Varok activates the Pearl of Abyss in the middle of our universe, it may create another passage. It may summon something from the devil universe. It may collapse a star realm into abyssal corruption. It may even allow him to escape and inform Abaddon that we tried to trap him."

He looked at Max. "So sealing him sounds good in theory, but if the Pearl of Abyss reacts before we complete the seal, the consequences may be far worse than letting him remain under observation."

Max remained silent.

Arvantos then explained further, "There are five Primal Treasures in existence, at least according to what we know. We Primordials possess one. The devils possess two. One is the Pearl of Abyss in Varok’s hands, and the other remains in the devil universe, where they are using it to pierce the Wall of Eternity. The fourth is in the possession of the leader of the Angel Race. As for the fifth, its whereabouts are still unknown."

His gaze moved slowly across the ten geniuses.

"You must understand what that means. The devils did not send Varok here merely as a messenger. They sent him with a Primal Treasure because they wanted him to be untouchable, or at least dangerous enough that we would hesitate before acting against him."

The hall became oppressively silent.

The devils were not simply making demands.

They were using Varok as bait, shield, envoy, and threat all at once.

If the Primordials killed him, Abaddon would have a reason to start war.

If they imprisoned him, the Pearl of Abyss might cause a disaster.

If they agreed to his terms, devils would gain a foothold in the Divine Realm.

If they refused outright, the devils might escalate the situation while the Wall of Eternity continued weakening.

Arvantos sighed again, and for the first time, the ten geniuses could clearly see the weight carried by the Primarchs.

"That is why we are in a bind. We cannot trust the devils. We cannot allow them to move freely. We cannot kill Varok carelessly. We cannot ignore the hole in the Wall of Eternity. And we cannot assume five hundred years will be enough."

He looked at them with a solemn expression.

"This is why we summoned all of you."

Max’s eyes sharpened slightly.

Arvantos continued, "The older generation will handle negotiations, defense lines, and the Wall of Eternity. But the future war will not be decided by old strength alone. If the invasion truly expands, your generation will become the blade of this universe."

His voice grew deeper.

"And before that day comes, all of you must become strong enough to survive the battlefield that is coming."

After hearing Arvantos’s words, the ten geniuses fell into a heavy silence.

The pressure on their shoulders seemed to increase a hundredfold in an instant.
