Chapter 2044: Infor for Newbies!
Chapter 2044: Infor for Newbies!
Participants from all five races moved in and out of the hall. Primordials walked in with calm expressions. Devils strode out sneering at something they’d just heard. Spirit Race members gathered near the entrance, quietly exchanging information through glowing leaves of energy.
Angels stood in small groups, their golden halos casting gentle light over their elegant figures. Dragon Race geniuses leaned against the stone pillars outside, their scaled arms folded across their chests as they watched the crowd with beast-like patience.
The moment Max approached with Anna, Daniel, Damian, and Revona, several gazes turned toward them. Some recognized Anna. More recognized Daniel. Because Daniel stood there, the gazes landing on Max didn’t linger too recklessly.
A few devils noticed his cultivation and flashed mocking smiles, but after spotting Daniel walking beside him, they quickly looked away. Even the curious ones didn’t step forward to provoke him.
Anna glanced at Max. "See? This is why I brought him."
Max smiled faintly and said nothing.
They entered the Information Hall together. The moment they stepped inside, Max felt like he’d entered a completely different world.
The interior stretched vast, far larger than the tower looked from outside. It had clearly been expanded through spatial formations.
Floors rose in layers above them, connected by floating stairways and circular platforms drifting through the air. Countless information screens hovered everywhere, displaying maps, city notices, mark exchange rates, trial locations, beast warnings, faction disputes, recent deaths, ranking changes, and basic guides for newcomers.
The hall was noisy but organized. Voices filled the air from every direction. Some people were buying maps. Some were arguing with information brokers. Some were checking the rankings. Some were digging through trial records.
Some gathered around large floating boards discussing newly discovered ruins and dangerous zones. Despite the crowd, the atmosphere stayed controlled, like the rules of Bloodstone City reached deep into this place too.
Max looked around carefully. This was exactly what he needed.
Anna noticed his expression and started explaining. "The Information Hall’s one of the most important places for newcomers. Almost every proper city in the outer layer has one. Some run bigger than this, some smaller, and some get controlled more heavily by certain races, but their function stays mostly the same."
She pointed toward the floating screens. "Here, you can learn the basic rules of the Godslayer’s Pilgrimage. You can buy maps of nearby regions, gather information about trial grounds, learn which beast territories to avoid, check mark-related rules, see rankings, purchase news about the inner layer, and even hire guides or join temporary teams."
Damian looked toward one of the screens showing a map of the surrounding region. "So this place holds everything a newcomer needs to avoid dying blindly."
Anna nodded. "Exactly. Though the free information only covers the basics. Anything valuable requires marks."
Revona smiled faintly. "Naturally."
Anna continued, "Information’s one of the most expensive things in the Godslayer’s Pilgrimage. Good information can save your life, lead you to an opportunity, or help you dodge a trap. Bad information can kill you faster than an enemy’s blade."
Max’s gaze moved across the hall. He spotted one counter marked Basic Newcomer Knowledge. Another was marked Outer Layer Maps. Farther off, a larger platform displayed Bloodstone City Rankings.
A separate area seemed to sell information about nearby ruins, while another section was surrounded by participants scanning team recruitment notices.
Anna said, "Since all three of you are new, you should grab the basic information package first. It covers the outer layer, city rules, mark usage, common dangers, and how to dodge the most obvious traps. After that, you can decide what specific information you want to buy."
Daniel added calmly, "Don’t spend your marks carelessly. Newcomers usually waste their first marks on stuff that sounds impressive but ends up useless. Buy what helps you survive first. Opportunities come later."
Max glanced at him and nodded.
The devil he’d captured had already told him a lot, but compared to the scale of information inside this hall, that devil’s knowledge was clearly limited.
If Max wanted to properly understand the Godslayer’s Pilgrimage, especially the path to the inner layer, the core layer, and anything tied to the Eternal Body, he needed more reliable sources.
As they moved deeper into the Information Hall, more gazes fell on Max. This time, he could feel the curiosity more clearly. A Law Manifestation Realm cultivator entering the Godslayer’s Pilgrimage was just too unusual.
Even with Daniel beside him, people couldn’t help but stare. Some Primordials frowned in confusion. Several devils sneered from a distance. A few angels glanced at him with cold indifference, while one or two Dragon Race geniuses looked like they were trying to sense whether his weak realm hid something unusual underneath.
Max ignored all of it, keeping his eyes calm as he looked toward the information counters ahead.
Most of the basic information displayed inside the Information Hall had already been explained to Max by the devil he’d captured earlier. Even so, Max didn’t skip over it.
The devil had been terrified while speaking, and fear usually made people more honest, but Max wasn’t careless enough to take everything at face value without checking. This was the Godslayer’s Pilgrimage, a place where information could mean the difference between life and death.
If the devil had hidden something, twisted something, or deliberately left out an important detail, Max needed to know before it caused him trouble later.
So he carefully read through the newcomer information package. The outer layer. The inner layer. The core layer. The five grades of marks. Bloodstone City’s basic rules. The common dangers outside the city. The role of Information Halls, exchange halls, trial grounds, and race bases.
After a few minutes, Max confirmed that most of what the devil had told him checked out. No obvious lies, at least not in what he’d already shared. Bloodstone City really was one of the outer layer cities.
Open killing inside the city really was restricted by the city’s own rules. Marks really did serve as the main currency, status symbol, and proof of achievement in the Godslayer’s Pilgrimage.
The outer layer really was filled mostly with Divine Lord Realm participants, while the inner layer really was dominated by Divine King Realm geniuses.
