Chapter 2055: Damian vs Aldric!

Chapter 2055: Damian vs Aldric!

Above the Battle Space, the enormous projection brightened once more. Their figures appeared inside a vast virtual arena, standing several hundred meters apart beneath a sky filled with floating silver runes.

The second battle was about to begin.

Inside the Battle Space, Damian and Aldric stood several hundred meters apart.

A countdown appeared before them.

Ten. Nine. Eight.

Damian calmly placed one hand on the hilt of his sword. His expression didn’t change. No nervousness showed in his eyes, and no obvious excitement either. He looked composed, almost too composed, as if fighting in front of Bloodstone City meant nothing to him.

Across from him, Aldric’s pale golden pupils narrowed. Unlike Virgil, who’d entered the battle with open arrogance and savage confidence, Aldric’s gaze ran much colder. He’d watched the first fight carefully, and he clearly had no plans to repeat Virgil’s mistakes.

Three. Two. One. Zero.

The moment the countdown vanished, Aldric moved.

Just like Virgil, he didn’t waste time slowly testing Damian. Dragon blood erupted from his body, and silver-gray scales spread across his arms, chest, neck, and face. His fingers stretched into sharp claws, his muscles tightened, and a long dragon tail appeared behind him.

His horns grew longer, and his pale golden pupils turned more vertical, colder, and sharper. In a single breath, he’d also entered his Half-Dragon Transformation.

But unlike Virgil, Aldric didn’t charge forward blindly. His first step shattered the stone beneath him, but the moment he rushed out, three afterimages appeared beside him.

Each afterimage carried a faint trace of dragon energy, and all four figures split apart as they moved toward Damian from different directions. One came from the front, one circled to the left, one flashed to the right, and the last one vanished briefly before reappearing above Damian.

The crowd stirred immediately.

"He’s using movement feints right from the start."

"Aldric’s not like Virgil. He’s planning to end this before Damian can read his rhythm."

"He wants to surround him with pressure and force him to reveal his defense."

Damian’s expression stayed calm. He drew his sword. The blade left its sheath with a clear, gentle sound, and in the next moment, a faint golden-white light flowed across Damian’s body. His Primordial Bloodline began strengthening his flesh, bones, meridians, and sword aura all at once.

The power didn’t come wild or overwhelming like a dragon’s bloodline. It ran deep, ancient, and balanced, as if quietly reinforcing every part of him without wasting a single trace of energy.

Aldric’s claw came first from the front. Damian turned his wrist and slashed diagonally. The sword edge met the claw with perfect timing, redirecting the strike instead of blocking it head-on. Sparks burst between scale and blade, and Aldric’s front-facing figure got forced slightly aside.

At the same time, the afterimage on the left lunged toward Damian’s ribs, while the one on the right aimed for his sword arm.

Damian stepped back half a pace. His sword spun once. A circular sword light opened around him, calm and precise, cutting through the two afterimages before they could touch him. The Aldric above him then descended with both claws crossed, using the momentary gap to attack his head.

Damian looked up. His eyes stayed steady. "Sword Rain Reversal."

He raised his sword, and dozens of fine sword lights shot upward like falling rain moving backward into the sky. The descending Aldric struck against them, and the sword lights shattered one after another, but they slowed his momentum just enough.

Damian moved one step to the side, then thrust his sword toward Aldric’s shoulder.

Aldric twisted in midair and avoided the vital point, but the sword still cut across the edge of his scales. A thin line appeared on his shoulder. It wasn’t deep. But it was enough to make his eyes colder.

Outside the Battle Space, Daniel nodded faintly. "Damian’s sword control is solid."

Anna’s expression eased slightly. "He’s not getting pulled into Aldric’s rhythm."

Max watched silently. Damian’s fighting style ran very different from Revona’s. Revona used her Void Origin Eyes to nullify attacks before they could fully threaten her.

Damian, on the other hand, didn’t erase attacks or dodge confrontation entirely. He saw the structure of each assault, found its weakest point, and used his sword to cut into that point with terrifying calm. His defense looked simple, but every slash, step, and turn carried purpose.

’Damian is also very close to his complete Cosmic Path.’ Max thought as he assessed Damian’s sword attacks.

Inside the arena, Aldric landed and charged again. This time, he attacked even faster. His claws tore through the air, his tail swept low toward Damian’s legs, and silver-gray dragon energy surged from his scales in sharp bursts. He didn’t rely on brute strength alone.

Each attack layered onto another. When Damian blocked a claw, the tail arrived. When Damian evaded the tail, a burst of dragon energy exploded from Aldric’s shoulder. When Damian cut through that burst, Aldric had already changed direction and struck from a blind angle.

It was full offense. But it was planned offense. Aldric kept forcing Damian to react, never giving him time to seize the initiative. Every step he took narrowed Damian’s space. Every strike pushed him toward a position Aldric had already prepared. Within a short time, the entire battlefield seemed covered in Aldric’s attacking rhythm.

Yet Damian didn’t panic. His sword moved steadily. A claw came for his throat, and Damian’s blade rose to guide it past his shoulder. A tail swept toward his knees, and Damian stepped over it while cutting down toward Aldric’s back.

Dragon energy erupted beneath his feet, and Damian’s Primordial Bloodline surged quietly, strengthening his body just enough for him to step through the impact and keep his balance.

Aldric launched three attacks at once, and Damian answered with three sword movements so smooth they looked like one flowing motion. No matter how Aldric attacked, Damian found a way to counter. No matter how the dragon changed angles, Damian’s sword was already waiting.

The more Aldric attacked, the more the crowd realized something unsettling. Damian wasn’t overpowering him. He was reading him. The whole battle looked like Aldric attacking fiercely while Damian defended, but the truth ran more complicated.

Aldric’s attacks kept getting guided away, cut apart, interrupted, or stripped of their strongest point before reaching Damian. Damian’s sword never wasted a movement. He didn’t strike out of anger. He didn’t chase openings greedily. He simply stayed there, calm and composed, cutting through every dangerous moment like he’d already seen the outcome before it happened.

Aldric’s expression gradually darkened. "Are you only going to defend?" he asked coldly.

Damian blocked another claw and answered calmly, "If your attacks can’t reach me, there’s no need for me to rush."
