Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3300 Hitting Back

Chapter 3300 Hitting Back

Levon Zenflame held his stomach as he stepped out of the balcony, looking at the Emperor of Death head in the direction that he recognized to be City Lord's Palace, wondering what he was going to start now.

"Tyler, let's leave. You quickly go to your family and flee the Fire Phoenix Clan's Prefectures…" Levon Zenflame spoke with a sad yet firm voice.

They were doomed.

He couldn't forgive himself since he made the decision to sacrifice the city to save his family.

However, Tyler Zenflame had a complicated gaze as he looked into the distance where the Emperor of Death disappeared.

"Levon, we don't have any intentions of attacking him in the future, but the same can't be said about the Grand Elders who sent us to death, right…?"

"…" Levon Zenflame pursed his lips.

Even if the Grand Elders or the Ancestors had that kind of intention, they were not supposed to talk about it and blindly follow if it came to that moment.

Suddenly, his lips wryly curled.

Then, it was no wonder they would collectively receive punishment from the Emperor of Death. They were all at fault since none thought of stopping the upper echelon, not that they could possibly utter a word since they would be executed, so what made them utter foolish words in front of another big and more ominous existence like the embodiment of calamity?

Abruptly, he realized it all felt so foolish. This endeavor was ridiculous, and even more ridiculous that he was still alive.

'He wanted to tell us nobodies this… but why…?' He shook his head, unable to understand.

"Hmm!?"

Suddenly, both of their eyes widened as they detected something. They turned to look at the people on the balcony- no, the jade container that Leia Zenflame dropped.

It had slightly opened, and the aura it was coming out of made them shudder.

It was their… hearts…? The Emperor of Death chose to give their blood essences back…?

Why…?

For some reason, when they imagined his scary silhouette again, they couldn't think that he was the incarnation of calamity anymore as they were told time and time again, his figure no different than a man who only wants to protect his family in this cruel world.

"I see…"

Levon Zenflame finally looked as though something dawned on him.

When it came to the final moment, the choice was clear; the choice he made told him that the actions of the Anarchic Divergent were no different than his, yet the Anarchic Divergent was framed as a disastrous embodiment of calamity while he, an Elder of the Fire Phoenix Clan, was a simple man who made a tragic decision to protect his family.

Not only was the burden of their choices the same, but the outcome was also the same, but the way they were judged was vastly different.

Davis headed towards the most powerful aura he could find in this city.

His thoughts were all over the place as he thought of the little girl's smile turning into one of terror before she hid her face in her mother's bosoms.

Would his daughters also face such a precarious situation in the true immortal world?

He bet they had already faced it and died miserably since four different lives came from the future to warn him, making him inwardly let out a dry laugh.

Just before coming here, he wasn't willing to let the Fire Phoenix Clan go as he was still mad. Even if he didn't kill them all, he wanted them to suffer some kind of setback, whether it be in the form of punishment or enslavement.

He would be hurting innocent lives unrelated to the decisions of the upper echelon of the Fire Phoenix Clan. So, if he was going to hurt them, why not take a good look at them?

Then he decided to make the decision to take these two fools to face the same choice as him, and funnily enough, they were making the same choice as him upon being forced to a dead end. To kill everyone else instead of endangering their direct family.

It was hilarious to him they made that choice, considering that everyone from Flamerose to the three inheritors was also begging him not to make that choice.

However, he didn't blame them one bit for begging him or making that choice.

When it came to the weight of life, four lives were better than two, ten lives were better than five, and so on and so forth. But when it came to the closeness they have with those minority of lives, that ironclad aspect collapses, leaving them to choose very few people compared to millions or even billions.

Now, he finally knew the choice he would make wasn't because he was a calamity but because he was also an ordinary person, leaving his mind full of clarity.

"City Lord, come out and behead yourself for the crimes your clan has committed!"

Davis stopped in front of the tallest palace as he stared at it. It towered above the rest of the palaces beside it, making it obvious that it was the City Lord's Palace, but at the same time, he could sense the aura of the person inside.

The aura made a move, rushing towards the other direction, causing Davis to heave a sigh.

He disappeared from the air like the flowing wind, reappearing on the other end of the palace as he dropped like a blazing meteor with Yama stretched across his body.

His body spun along with the curved blade clad in death energy, and when he shot past a certain person, that person split into two from the head to the lower body.

The City Lord didn't even release a scream nor manage to detect his presence because of his undulations that created very little ripples. The City Lord's soul was reaped by Yama before the speeding dissected body crashed straight into another palace, causing blood to splash over the crimson walls.

The situation didn't even last three seconds as the City Lord of this Tier One City fell.

Davis reaped the Level Three Immortal Emperor Beast soul essence and took the rings for himself before looking around, seeing a bunch of Immortal Kings fleeing the mighty palaces of the Fire Phoenix Clan without looking back.

"In this act of revenge of mine against the Fire Phoenix Clan, most Immortal Emperors and a few Immortal Kings wouldn't survive. If you want to survive, make sure to kill me or run to the furthest ends of this world, out of my sight!"

His declaration echoed throughout the city, causing countless transmissions to be sent to the other cities.

Davis rushed towards the main city where the Grand Elders were possibly located, but not before the City Lords lying in his path.

They were part of the upper echelon and, naturally, did nothing to stop the corruption. In fact, he knew they were a part of it since he recollected their faces being present back in the banquet when they tried to fool Shirley.

Forgetting the puny, Low-Level Immortal Emperors like Levon Zenflame and Tyler Zenflame, who were slightly unrelated, even if the Grand Elders tried to escape, he had no intention of leaving them alive. That topmost echelon was fully controlled by the Zenflames and Reselius Zenflame, their Ancestor who led them to this day.

He was going to make sure they fully regretted trying to enslave Shirley.

In the distance, Levon Zenflame and Tyler Zenflame saw the Emperor of Death leave the city.

This time, they saw how he pierced through the barrier with pitch-black energy covering his body, and the formation didn't even detect his life aura subsequently, making it so he easily came inside and went out like it was his own home.

They could also see he had made his decision, but the decision didn't include killing them, who were also Immortal Emperors…?

Were they two of the few Immortal Emperors who were going to be spared since he said 'most' and not 'all'…?
