Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3950 Opulent Shell Company

Chapter 3950  Opulent Shell Company

In the bustling Rowendo City, the air buzzed with the energy of powerful cultivators at the core region. It was a trade hub, so every person here was either doing business or looking for an opportunity to make wealth. Wealth was one of the cornerstones of increasing one's cultivation.

It allowed one to have more influence on top of having strength, as rewarding wealth was a strong incentive to anyone who would like to come up in the cultivation world.

Average cultivators didn't spend most of their time secluded inside a chamber. They were out in the woods, mountains, and seas, trying to earn wealth so they could buy resources and seclude themselves to have a breakthrough. Only the ones who possessed wealth could afford to be hermits, never seeing the light of the day yet still managing to become powerful.

Right now, the crowd parted as a group of figures clad in black robes strode down the grand avenue, heading towards the towering gates of a huge structure.

[Opulent Shell Company]

The board on the towering gate had these words etched on it, each stroke grand and filled with an intense aura.

"Here we are!"

The white-robed man who led the group stood in front of the gates and posed grandly.

"Brother, how is my Opulent Shell Company? One day, I would inherit it all and become a grand master of the human race! My company would even spread to the Upper Realms and possibly even the Greater Realms! Ahahah!"

"…"

Davis and the others stared at him.

"Yeah, still an NPC…"

Mingzhi sent Davis a soul transmission. She thought she was wrong as Young Master Reiwu turned out to be the key to their objective, but it seems like he may not make it through today.

Receiving no reply, Young Master Reiwu's smile slowly faded. He was aware that the other party probably wasn't amused when his neck was targeted. Although he had the bodyguard kowtow and apologize when they were on their way, how could it appease an Empyrean?

Even if the bodyguard died, it wouldn't be an apology.

He nodded and gestured, "Let's go inside."

Young Master Reiwu then brought them beyond the gates that even an Empyrean would have difficulty entering upon being closed. He easily gave them access, but the gates were open, so it was not a problem for Davis and the others to enter. However, the place they wanted to go was the storage chamber.

That could only be done by gaining the favor or coercing an important person such as Young Master Reiwu.

Once they got inside the colossal structure, they saw the walls shimmering with complex runes made up of countless inscriptions. They appeared to be designed to contain the volatile energies of the treasures housed within. The marble floors gleamed underfoot, and towering pillars etched with inscriptions supported the dome above.

As soon as they entered, the scene was a mixture of grandeur and hectic.

Hundreds of stalls and private booths displayed thousands of cultivation resources of every kind: gleaming transcendent crystals of different attributes, rare herbs, magical beast cores still pulsating with energy, and talismans that possessed numerous powers.

Even many services were offered on the spot— Runists and Soul Runists sat on the spot and etched cryptic symbols on empty talismans, creating powerful talismans while Herbalists and Alchemists haggled over the price of rare ingredients and heavenly resources, further making them into pills.

As the group walked past these stores, Davis and the others were intrigued.

This company was truly a hub of experts and wealthy buyers.

"Young Master!"

"Young Master Reiwu!"

"Good day to you, Young Master!"

Many shop owners and enthusiastic buyers practically ran to the white-robed man and paid their respects. Their smiles couldn't be any more pleasing yet disgusting as they tried to curry his favor.

"Yes, good day to you all."

Young Master Reiwu didn't even bother to look at them. He just said a few words and continued to show them the way. Some even handed him gifts or bribes, but he just had his bodyguards get them.

Davis could finally understand why arrogance would get to Young Master Reiwu's head.

"Having all this influence, he could even get some of these shopowners' daughters to warm his bed with consent, but he chooses to harass some woman near a restaurant. How ill-willed and bored must he be…?"

Mingzhi sent a soul transmission again, sounding amused yet full of rancor.

"This is always the case for the second generation or the subsequent generations. Mingzhi, we have to look after our kids wisely, or they will turn out to be like this piece of shit…"

He felt like he must learn and stop his children from becoming a depraved man like Young Master Reiwu.

"I agree." Mingzhi's voice turned solemn, "Don't worry. As long as I remain one of the heads of the Justice Department, I will see to it that not one of the next generation turns into a bad apple."

"You're always reliable, Mingzhi."

Davis said with a loving tone, causing Mingzhi to look at him with an unamused smile. He just got her to handle an entire generation, and she fell for it without realizing it. She rolled her eyes and looked at a grand dais.

They arrived in one of the auction houses among the many.

Young Master Reiwu brought them to one of the tiered seats where the most powerful buyers would gather to bid.

A few cages and small containers currently occupied the stage.

One of the cages held an Immortal Emperor Beast. It was actually a Starlight Jade Wolf. The recent betrayal committed by the Starlight Jade Wolf race, because they allied with a calamity, allowed people to belittle their race and sell the captured wolves more efficiently.

The other few cages had humans and other races. As for the containers, they held High-Level Immortal Emperor Grade resources.

"Brother, didn't you want to see exotic items? There's one."

Young Master Reiwu chuckled at Davis and gestured with a flick of his head as he eyed the stage.

Davis followed his gaze, and it landed on one of the cages.

The person inside the cage was a silver-haired girl who was barely past adolescence. She seemed to be from some fallen noble family within the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm. Her eyes were vacant, her wrists bound by chains that pulsed with restrictive energy. She was apparently born a Transcendent and was already a Level One Monarch despite her young age.

"…" Davis frowned, but he shuddered as he could feel cold gazes land on him from behind.

He swore he wasn't looking for teenagers even if he was going to buy a dual cultivation slave here.

"No," Davis sounded unamused as he turned to look at Young Master Reiwu, "I didn't mean this exotic. I meant a bit more exotic and active in the bed… like a rabbit…"

"Oh-ohhh! I understand. Follow me!"

Young Master Reiwu stood up and rushed outside, causing Davis to inwardly sigh and follow.

There were a lot of auction houses, but he doubted the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit was already on a stage for sale.

=======

"What!? He offended an Empyrean!?"

*Bang!~*

A fist sank and smashed a table, causing it to shatter into pieces. The fist rose up, revealing a man who had facial features similar to that of Young Master Reiwu. He also wore a white robe and looked great in it. He also had trimmed facial hair, which made him look suave.

However, he was anything but suave right now, as he had a face full of anger.

"Master Taiwu, you were in an important meeting, and since the situation subsided instead of escalating, I dared not disturb you."

A subordinate seemed to be on their knees. It was a woman. She trembled in front of him as she kept her hands cupped.

"What does an Empyrean want with my son? Who is that Empyrean? Look into it, quick!"

"Yes, Master!"

The woman quickly left, leaving the man with a belly full of anger that slowly subsided.

"Dammit! I told him not to cause trouble!" But it quickly reappeared, only for him to calm down again.

Eventually, he walked away and entered another room where he saw two people seated on the sofa.

"Respected cultivators, there was a slight mishap within the company, but it is nothing to worry about. Shall we continue with our business talks?"

"Sure. As long as you can give us that rabbit today, we'll make you an offer that you can't refuse."

One of the two men replied, causing Master Taiwu to be intrigued as he smirked.
