Chapter 4177 Flipping Coins
Chapter 4177 Flipping Coins
"Alright, you have my word." Davis nodded.
"As if I could believe your words." Fairy Runalise harrumphed lightly, "Sign a True Soul Contract. I'm sure you have one with you with how many Heaven's Warriors you hunted."
"…"
Davis raised his brows. She wasn't wrong.
He obtained some True Soul Contracts recently from the Heaven's Warriors, who were hunted by Illumina and others during the rescue mission. Most of them were from the Upper Realms, after all. Even this woman was from the Upper Realm. Although she didn't possess a True Soul Contract, many others did.
"Do you not trust my words?"
However, Davis's voice turned cold as he narrowed his eyes.
"It isn't a matter of trusting or not." Fairy Runalise argued, "Do you really expect me to follow through my words when it is highly possible that the heavens would influence me to do its bidding despite my word?"
"Fair enough." Davis nodded, "But I do believe you in being able to uphold your word. You're a Heaven's Warrior, after all. They may be hypocrites, but they tend to fulfill their promises if I have seen any."
"…"
Fairy Runalise didn't seem to have much of a reaction. It was as though what he said was a given.
Davis brought out a True Soul Contract.
It was in the form of a scroll and didn't appear much different from a Blood Soul Contract. The only difference was that it was made of materials that were capable of binding the true soul or, in other words, encompassing the three spiritual souls.
In this way, anyone who had formed a True Soul Contract wouldn't be able to escape from it even if they died and reincarnated. It was nearly an eternal binding. Depending on the type of True Soul Contract, it could take many generations of life and death to make it lose its power.
Davis quickly formed the True Soul Contract by using his soul force to write, giving the True Soul Contract more weight. He then displayed it to her, causing her to nod.
"We will sign it when the game has ended. That is fine, right?"
"As long as the request isn't something I should do instantly, it should be fine."
Fairy Runalise gave her opinion.
Davis smiled. She was on guard the whole time, but he didn't seem bothered.
"Well, let's move on to the second round. Speak, what do you want from me this time?"
Fairy Runalise went silent.
She was at a loss since she didn't expect to win. She was totally expecting to lose in the form of being cheated.
"You will expose your secrets to me." Fairy Runalise uttered.
Davis raised his brows, "You want that instead of untying yourself from the chains? You must really like being bound, huh?"
"Again, silly provocations won't work on me. In the end, I will have you grant me death, and you will die without fail. What use is there if there are still chains on me or not?"
"Then why bother learning my secrets? Oh, if you die, is there some kind of technique you cast on yourself or others cast on you that will send your dying memories elsewhere?"
"…" Fairy Runalise didn't reply as though confirming that she had something like that.
Davis was curious as to when she activated that technique or if it was always activated. He guessed she must've used that technique when they were fighting. If not, was it just pure curiosity?
'She must be wondering why she lost to me a lot…'
Davis could feel a strong sense of reluctance from her. It wasn't to her life but to the battle. Perhaps she really hated losing and really hated losing to an Anarchic Divergent who was an entire stage below that she'd rather kill herself.
'Right, I'd hate losing to some random fellow an entire stage below me… it would totally humble me…'
Once he thought about it in a contemplative manner, he could only nod his head. He was already the strongest person he knew in the Immortal Emperor Stage. Although he hadn't gone to the Greater Realms, he didn't think anyone exceeded him in prowess at this stage.
The only alternative he could think of was if they possessed a similar treasure like the black-white stone, a mere fragment of an apex treasure. However, that wasn't their own strength, so he was still extremely confident about himself.
"Alright, I accept your request-"
"Davis…"
Myria intervened as she called out his name.
However, Davis merely raised his hand, stopping them.
"On that condition that if it isn't my foremost secret, I will agree to tell you everything else. You want to know who and all are connected with me and what kind of dazzling techniques I'm hiding, don't you?"
"Precisely." Fairy Runalise nodded, "Although I would like to hear your foremost secret first, I guess I would settle for the rest. There are too many unknowns about you and you keep disappearing after you appear and your people do the same. Now I understand it is because of the Void Dust Tree, but it still doesn't explain how you keep avoiding our search entirely. Just who is your Mystic Diviner?"
"…" Tia in the back could only remain silent.
"There must be more." Fairy Runalise harrumphed, "I will have you spill every Divergent ally you have here and everywhere else."
"Haha." Davis chuckled, "You're feisty and ambitious, alright. As for me, I'll request you the same as I did before."
"…"
Fairy Runalise's expression turned stunned before her expression went grim.
Just what was this calamity scheming?
There was no way he would request something just to seal her mouth. She was full of suspicion against him, wondering if she should continue to play, but…
'His secrets… they must be galaxy-ending at the very least…'
Fairy Runalise took a deep breath before she controlled herself, "Flip it."
"You're getting into the game. Good, good…"
Davis laughed before he raised his hand and flipped the coin into the air.
*Ting!~*
It flew above but failed to reach the same height as before. Once the momentum receded, it began making its fall.
"Tails~"
The coin fell flat like before, not spinning due to the sandy surface. The coin displayed the Loret Family's Ancestor again.
It was heads.
"Haha, you failed. If you had chosen my ancestor, you would have won. My ancestor really is said to be a lucky person."
Davis pointed at her face and laughed while she glared at him.
"Now you have to uphold your end of the deal, little miss."
"I'm way older than a baby like you."
"You lost twice to a baby then."
"You-!"
Fairy Runalise's chains shook. She looked as though she was going to rip him apart as she sprung towards him but went back again, knowing she was just playing into his hands if she got angry and lost composure.
